So I've been looking all over, and I haven't found a solution. It doesn't appear that the official Overdrive Media Console recognizes Windows Phones like it does other devices (Even the Zune!). So you are forced to download books from their application on the phone.
Does anybody know anything about this? I've emailed them with no responce, and am hoping this feature comes as its a pain to do on the phone, and also kills the battery downloading them that way.
Thanks in advance.

hi guys, I've had decided to (try to) code an app simular to what I used on an old Sony Ericsson (t68 and s700i) which could remote control Windows Media player via Bluetooth, and and download which I had that done the same for winamp and would also list the playlist.
At the moment this is in the idea stage, as far as I have worked out, its going to need to be a server/client app.
Being new to Qt this may take some time lol but always found deep end is best place to learn lol. does anyone have any pointers in direction to look for info on something like this, or how to pass information, commands rather than files via bluetooth?
soon as I get anywhere I'll post updates.
thanks for any info thrown my way.

First off can't put it down, this thing is insane an I didn't even hack it yet. (Waiting to go buy a micro SD card) Got a couple of questions. I use iTunes and would like to stream my library to my g tablet, is there a compadiable app,or do ibhave to move my library to windows media player, if so is there an app that will allow me to control my library like iPhones remote app? And lastly any kick a$$ apps out there? In the short time I've had it found a killer emulator and spent the day kicking it old school...lol thanks in advanced to all who respond.
Unfortunately I can't suggest an iTunes sync app as I don't use it.
As for killer apps, you might want to mention some of your interests in a tablet - ie. video playback (Rockplayer), ebooks (Aldiko), comics (ACV or JJComics Viewer) etc.
Sync
Try doubletwist for syncing your music (but not streaming)

Daap player: http://code.google.com/p/daap-client/ hmm, can't get this to work
Might need to run an alternative server since itunes doesn't like to play nice with the standard. I run a firefly server on my nas.

Podcasts
Any suggestions on getting podcasts to sync? Using doubletwist doesn't exactly work properly; audio podcasts show up as playlists, not podcasts, which is OK, but video podcasts don't work at all.
Does anyone use any other program that will actually automatically download podcasts? It seems like most of the apps I've looked at are written for phones with 3g connections to listen to streaming podcasts, which the G-tab obviously doesn't do.
thanks

You can use .podkast or google listen.
I've used BeyondPod previously and works pretty well. It would be perfect if it were free, but i guess $7.00 is not too much of a price to pay after the trial is over.
Google listen seems to work for some people, but not others; I am apparently one of the others, because it will only stream and I can't figure out how to make it download, even though I've told it to do so.
I'm thinking of trying beyondpod or doggcatcher, but don't really want to pay until I know they'll work. Guess I'll go for the free trial.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm looking to extend my music collection available on my device by streaming from my PC, either on my home network or on other WiFi networks. 3G is generally not up to the job, so I'm not interested in that.
I did a quick google and found a program called JukeFly, but it's not available in my region, and I can't find it on Marketplace. Is there a way to get JukeFly on my device?
I know that I can add music to my SkyDrive, but this is only accessible through the Office Hub, so is a bit clunky to access and I presume I'll be limited to opening one track at a time.
I've come across Media Buddy, which works with Windows Media Centre, but I'm really looking for something that will at least appear in the Applications list in Zune on my device.
Anyone got any clever solutions?
Thanks
When you're at home you could use a DLNA app.
Or you could install TVersity Server (it's for free) on your PC and then download and install either myMedia WP7 or TVersity Remote on your device. Works like a charm for me.
Streaming from your PC to WP7
There is an app in the marketplace called Tonido. It is really good at what its for. It reminds me of orb before it got screwed up, but tonido you should enjoy
Hi,
I would like to be able to hear all my Windows PC sounds on my Windows Phone via Wifi. Ive been searching for quite long time now with no luck. Anyone knows better?
Cheers
QloudMedia, http://app.qiss.mobi/ , http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/a6a48d5e-a249-42c9-a552-3111c26051e6
Not an audio only, but video (transcoding "on the fly") and pics too
Neat! Thank you! Will give it a try as son as i can
but if isnt it too much to ask, isnt there any free alternative?
also my initial thought (belive i wasnt very clear) was to use the phone as a kind of "wireless headphone" since i could watch game stream, online web radio and so on w/o beeing in front of the pc.
Qloud doesnt seems to do that, or am i mistaken?

No. With QloudMedia you can stream existing audio/video files to your handset. To be able watch something directly from you PC screen, you may try any remote desktop apps (but they are also paid).
im trying "pc remote" and it is really great, but it doesnt have the audio feature,
do you know any?
Hello All,
This is my first android operating system, was always apple and windows before. I am loving my new TF700 and already found 4share.
My question is advice on apps to help me out. I have a home theater PC filled with thousands of movies, what is the best way to stream it to my tablet? Also, is there a good app for downloading things from my PC over wifi?
I saw that this tablet came with something called Splashtop, is that the best way to remote desktop? Or should I be looking for something else.
Sorry if these sound like n00b questions, I just thought this would be the best place to ask since we are all using the same device and I thought some/most of you have already found something good to fill this gap.
Thanks!
you can stream with a file manager, such as File Manager HD. I use BSPlayer to stream my blu ray collection.
you can also copy items from your pc to device by using File Manager HD as well. Just go to settings, LAN connection and scan until you find it. Then just put in your credentials. On your pc, just make sure you set the sharing permissions accordingly.
Im not sure abut splashtop, i use ubuntu, but i hear its a good app.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T
Sth called MyNet comes preinstalled, it uses DLNA. You can try Movie Browser HD too, for example. There's bunch of similar apps for that, search the market in case these two don't satisfy your needs.
Remember to switch DLNA on on your PC.

The best one I ever used is VPlayer, it's way better than BSPlayer which volume is significantly lower. Its UI is way better, you just swipe to right or left to get local, streaming from media servers or urls. Try it.
Servio and Plex runnng on my home server covers all my needs server side. I stream to a host of different tablets, phones, remote access browsers, and google TV. Plex is my preferred method, but also use Bubbleupnp To stream and download from the Servio server software.
the mynet one on the stock infinity turned out to be great ! thanks guys . im really intrested in buying a roku and running things to more devices now
