[Q] Help returning to stock tmobus - HTC Sensation

Can someone please help me? i currently have the HTC sensation i have Android Revolution HD 3.6.2 phone is s-off it says hboot 1.17.2008(PG5810000)
Radio 10.14.9035.01_M
I want to return to stock tmob rom because the battery life was just better for me and i just dont want to mod anything..none of the roms i d/l work the phone will boot to HTC screen and keep flashing only the Android Revolution works, phone shows as it is not rooted when using root checker but busybox is ok, I have read everything on how to unroot started with the guide from from this forum but when i tried using the 1.29 tmobile ruu it says error 155...is there anything else i can do..i have been at it for almost a week and just wanna go stock anyone that can help much appreciated

Im sorry i take back my last post i have returned to a stock tmobile rom right after this post..im a noob at this its my first android phone

Which RUU did you use? I've been having a similar problem where I try to flash other ROM's after a SuperWipe, and only Android Revolution Works. and I tried the RUU for Tmobile both of them that are in the development thread and got error 155.

i have no idea why roms other than revolution worked..i wanted to go stock, if thats what you are trying to do then i made the mistake of NOT SHOWING HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS..you must do this in control panel settings...after that i followed step by METHOD 2 - ENG HBOOT in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033
i used RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_ 10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed
try going back into stock then doing a new s-off/root if you really want to..i'm not going to try it again for some time...best of luck

Weird problems

So i bought an inspire from my friend and all was good until yesterday when the volume down button stopped working on me. then after a series of crazy boots it started working again which is leading me to believe the software is effed up. Its running MDJ's Ultimate droid HD v 1.8 and is completely freaking out on me. Being new to android, i just want to flash it back to stock. Can anyone help me out? also, the volume button is again acting stupid so hopefully it starts working again.

This is the ROM/Radio RUU from the latest OTA Update (it has root though):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058042
You want the first download (RUU_Ace_Cingular_US_1.84.502.11-Radio-26_06_06_30_M_PD98IMG.zip - No side load (Unknown sources/3rd party app - original ATT) version
md5sum: f2c80025662eae4f68f205d5cda48fa2)
If you want pure stock here's (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952224) the RUU from ship (no root). After you install this at some point you will be prompted to install the OTA update

Turn off USB debugging (Settings-Applications-Development-Remove check from USB Debugging), connect phone to computer, make sure you're in Charge only mode. The file you download is in .exe, so just run the program and follow the prompts. As stated earlier, this won't turn S-Off to S-On, but you'll still have a pure stock, unrooted ROM and Radio. There's a thread somewhere that discusses getting S-On (which you'll need to do before you run RUU if you're worried about it). Give me a minute and I'll try to dig it up.
Edit:
Follow the instructions here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033353) under MISCELLANEOUS to get S-On before running the RUU. Needed files are provided.
Note: that thread says to run the RUU, then perform the modified hack kit instructions to get s-on, then run the ruu again. You should just be able start from running the hack to to step 3, running ./gfree -s on, then running the RUU - you shouldn't have to run it first.
Another note... make sure you download the hack kit from this thread. It's version 9. The newer versions worked a little differently and I don't think they use gfree to get s-off, so newer versions won't work like this.
What's Ruin? Why would I need to run it and what's s-off? Sorry I'm trying to learn as I go.

S-Off is Radio Security off. This is what allows you to flash custom ROMs/Radios/Kernels. Part of the root process is gaining S-Off. If you want a straight from factory set-up, you would need to return to S-On. This would only be necessary if you're returning the phone to ATT or HTC for some reason, even then it's not likely they would check this setting. You can still be S-On and run the stock, unrooted ROM
The RUU is a combination of the stock ROM, kernel, and radio. When you run it, it wipes anything currently on the phone and installs the image that's installed at the factory. When it's done, you will have a stock, unrooted ROM and kernel with the factory radio
If you feel it's a software issue, why not try flashing a different ROM instead of going back to stock? There are plenty of ROMs out there that work flawlessly if not next to it.
I would like to thank you homeslice976, as I stumbled into this thread looking around, but I had this same exact question!

[Q] HTC Thunderbolt Stock Original ROM

Hello I've been experimenting with some custom roms on a HTC Thunderbolt. The friend that owns it said he had a backup stock original rom that came with the phone, but all of sudden does not have it anymore. I am wondering if there is a way I can get the original stock Froyo 2.2 ROM that came with the Thunderbolt. Or even better the stock OTA Gingerbread 2.3 update that came in last week. I've found some stock roms online, but they all turned out to be invalid. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Here is one stock rom that I found:
PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.70.605.0_Radio_1.39.00.0627r_NV_8k_1.41_9K_1.64_release_200422_signed.zip
but all the downloads of this file turn out be to invalid.
do you want to unroot? or do you want a rooted stock rom?
if you want to stay rooted, flash one of these in recovery:
froyo 1.70.605.0
gingerbread 2.11.605.3
RUUs if you want to unroot:
froyo 1.70.605.0 (note this is a .exe file)
gingerbread 2.11.605.3 this is a pg05img(install in hboot)
i checked the last 2 downloads and they are working fine.
need help
Hey guys, I was trying to unroot my thunderbolt but jacked things up. I had it wipe all date, now will not boot Its still rooted. When i go into the reboot mood its by Revolutionary. Info it displays where it gives me options of fastboot, recover, factory reset, simlock, hboot usb and image crc is
Revolutionary
MECHA XD SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.O4.1002
MICROP-/
RADIO-1.49.00.0406v_1
eMMC-BOOT
Idk if that helps. It doesnt reboot or does a looping process. Just stays at the white htc screen and doesnt say anything, and is not the screen where it says htc quietly brilliant. When i go into recovery 4ext recovery touch is whats available, current rom:unknown. Im fairly new so i would greatly appreciate any help, I like this phone alot and would hate to use something else. I dont care if after everything is said and done its still rooted or not. I have my personal info still on my card and a backup on my computer so im safe on that and dont care if i lose everything on the phone.
Hey,
I wish I would have know you wanted an unrooted thunderbolt, I would have traded you. Currently looking for a way to root ICS with out a million step process.

[Q][SOLVED]Downgrade Sensation XE/Stock Sensation XE ROM[Q]

Hi XDA,
I appreciate that somehwhere on this forum this question has probably been asked, and resolved.. but I really need some help here because either I'm dumb or this just simply hasn't been covered with the words 'Sensation XE'
Right, I installed Virtuos ROM (AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich). I upgraded my Firmware to the one that it uses, but quickly decided that AOSP is simply not the way for me. In order to downgrade back to a GB ROM, I flashed the 1.73 HBOOT version.
I then went about installing Android Revoloution, however for some reason I am experiencing instability within the system. I have installed it through 4EXT, formatted the system ect. So I decided that I wanted to revert to Stock and go through the rooting process again and basically re-install everything.
This is where I got stuck. There seems to be absolutely no Stock Sensation XE RUU's on XDA? I downloaded one RUU software number '1.45.401.3' however it tells me that I need to find the correct Rom Upgrade Utility.
Could somebody please point me in the correct direction of a Stock Sensation XE ROM. Not one that is Rooted or anything, I mean a genuine RUU. I have looked at the S-ON guide and the collection of Shipped ROM's however none say that they are specifically for the XE. Thank's in advance!
ISSUE NOW SOLVED
Putting the phone into Fastboot and then trying to flash '1.45.401.3' works for some strange reason. No complaints, Stock ROM re-flashing as we speak.
Could you provide me link to the stock rom... as i too want to revert back on stock rom, does simply flashing the rom resolved your problem?

[Q] HTC Sensation XE WIFI problem

Hi guys this is my first thread so i hope i have posted in the correct section, and posted the right info.
a couple of days ago, i bought a HTC Sensation XE off of a online website.
it is an unlocked phone, and i am using it on telstra.
the reception on it was poor, so i thought i might flash a x.xx.401.xx baseband to it, and see what happened.
so i unlocked the bootloader with HTC Dev. then i flashed clockwork recovery mod 5.0.0.2.0 onto it using ADB. i then flashed Android Revolution HD 6.6.3 onto my phone. this was without it being S-OFF and it was not rooted.
i was really excited, but none of the features i had hoped for came with it (likely because i wasnt rooted) so i decided to flash a stock ICS rom onto it.
so, i have done all of that.... AND NOW MY WIFI DOESNT WORK!!!!! I LOVE MY WIFI! when i try to turn the wifi on, it just says "error", to the left of the on/off toggle at the top of the settings screen..
any ideas on how to fix it?
please help to try and fix it

It's probably the HTC-DEV unlock that made this error. Try to unlock your phone (bootloader) via the Revolutionary method. Then reflash the firmware (last one). And finally, flash your favorite rom. This will solve your problem. Feel free to post additional questions.
Read those topics:

i cant flash it via revolutionary.... my hboot is 1.27.0000
sorry, i mean unlock by revolutionary.
also, now that i check, my gps does not work correctly, so i am assuming this means i have the wrong radio flashed onto my device? any suggestions?
Maybe radio or kernel but if you have an HTC RUU (original rom) this won't happend. So it's most likely a wrong unlock bootloader error, if this means something. Have you tried to unlock the bootloader via htc-dev again? Maybe you should use the new way to s-off (unlock bootloader), the one called jaggerbear or something like that (have a look in the dev section).
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
nah.... Juopunutbear completely voids ur warranty... dont really want to risk that

Going back to stock question

Hi,
Im probably going to have to return my sensation for repair as its having some weird charging issues, anyway when i bought it it came with gingerbread on a vodafone uk firmware, ive s-off'd it and super cid it, then upgraded firmware and installed ics roms. Just wondering whats the best way about going back to stock, my thought was to go back to a GB rom, then OTA ICS upgrade (although as far as return this isnt necessary), so in order to do this what would I need to do, would I have to flash the 1.17 multi firmware then a custom gb rom then a gb ruu? as I tried to use the original ruu that was on my phone when i got it but got a usb error,
Or should I just try a ics ruu
ive done it once before following the guide on here successfully but for the life of me cant remember how
thank them...

[GUIDE] How to Debrand, Rebrand & Flash Stock ROMs to your Sensation
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033
hope it helps...
I used 1.27.161.xxxx RUU from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid
The CID is "VODAP001"
So change CID, run the RUU.
Then when you are 100% certain it's fine change to S-ON.
Ok thaks, but in order for me to flash a GB RUU do I have to flash a GB Firmware first or is that part of the RUU? The other thing is Im supercid atm, should I change it back to the carrier cid for return?

The RUU contains everything you need (firmware including radio, standard recovery and of course the ROM itself). You'll end up with a standard Vodafone bloated HTC un-rooted ROM. You'll still have S-OFF but no custom recovery.
Yes change the CID back either before or after installing the RUU.
You should change it back to S-ON BUT ONLY after you're sure everything is as it should be. There are a few guides on the final step, I'll let you dig them up, IIRC it's a fastboot command.
hmmm now i cant get the RUU to work, i already had an older vodafone ruu but downloaded yours too, when I try the one you mentioned it just hangs at the "verifying information on your android phone. please wait..." screen if I try the one i had it comes up with error [170] usb connection error, i have HTC Driver 3.0.0.007 installed
will try and download the newest ones
EDIT
Managed to do it by extracting the rom.zip from the ruu and renaming it to PG581IMG.zip Is it correct that it should have the large vodafone logo on boot, when I bought the phone (was a used from an online store) they said it was a vodafone handset however it never originally had the logo like it does now

I just checked in Device Manager and it looks like the HTC device driver I used is 2.0.7.8, in Control panel add/remove programs the HTC Driver Installer is 3.0.0.021.
After installing the HTC stuff I then removed HTC Sync.
Check the MD5 of the RUUs, just rechecked mine and they're the same as on that site. for both 1.24.161.xxx & 1.27.161.xxx.
I run mine with the phone on the home screen, I have also seen recommendations that it should be run with the phone in Fastboot mode (from bootloader).
Apart from that I don't know what it may be apart from a suspect USB cable.
GL
Up and running, just wanted to check the vodafone logo on boot is correct?
