What' is the best launcher for lg g2x that won't mess up cause lately I have been getting google errors and by contacts lose the name and it just shows the numbers and I will have to reboot my phone then it will all go back to normal but then my launcher messes up like adw for instance I turn my phone back on then it's all weird everything starts back over and my theme is gone?. So I was wondering why the google thing does that and what may be the best stables launcher.

ADW EX. Best out there IMO. Launcher Pro is pretty sweet to, but I find ADW ex to be more stable.

No lag here. GO is super smooth for me. Do you have your phone overclocked or underclocked/undervolted? Or have you installed a custom kernel?
Sounds like your phone is having issues that run deeper than your launcher.
I've tried a few, but I've stuck with GO. Every other one I tried was just disappointing...
and yea, that sounds like a phone issue, not a launcher issue.
No my phone is not rooted at allbits in good shape and the launcher I love and chose is launcher pre its really smooth and very nice but thank you for everything for the opinions appreciate it

QQ launchers lockscreen is awesome, customization is a bit lacking compared to others but still smooth and very nice.

I'm gonna go with the G2x, I no longer trust in HTC's reliability or in how they put thier stuff together after owning a HD2. Plus, I like the Tegra 2.
Its about preference. If I could go back I would change a thing. Well I would stop the part of dropping my phone and scraping it lol. Other then that I would not change a thing

I would have probably not dismantled my HD2, you can get more for ones with a cracked screen on ebay than ones that have been completely taken apart, working or not. Plus I hate the fact that HTC tapes their digitizers to their phones, seems kinda hillbilly'ish if you ask me.

I HATED Froyo, I only liked the launcher cause it was simple and snappy.

I found a hone replacement that is clean and semi 3d and a nice lock screen that has taking my mind off sense temporarily lol
Its called Regina launcher if u pull and hold down it goes to a.carousel like 3d view of ur homescreens
Its not laggy or slow by any means comes with a weather.clock widget that is veryyyyy nice
And ripple lock is a honeycomb imitation lock that goes well with it

Ah, I played around with that home launcher, really new and awesome idea. For some reason it was a bit laggy for me, not sure why. And I was getting annoyed by the 3d switching screens thing. But all in all, anyone who wants a change, that's a cool home launcher

Yea its nice bit def needs some updates maybe if enough people catch wind of it.the Dev will work on it some more.
Its definitely a nice change tho I use launcher pro with LG weather widget and regina launcher back n forth all.day

G2 don't really have the power to run that smoothly I had the g2 and ended up giving it to my mom

Ok, I took a look and I liked it...I wanted to love it...but came away with the feeling that it wasn't quite fully baked. It definitely does things differently and I'm keeping my eye on it. A bit more development and polish and this could end up on my phone full time. If you are looking for something different you can't go wrong by taking a look.

I tried it, loved it, til I tried using camera. Neither one of my camera's would work with it. Just black screen then fc. Seems a lot like adw ex. without paying the $3. looks like it has potential. Went back to ADW and camera worked fine.
SPB Shell 3D is still my favorite... but I gotta say that new app drawer with all those snazzy effects is pretty darn impressive... Go Dev Team is amazing.
That strange never had any camera issues at all their could be setting that needs to be change on it.

Yeah as always with me I'm sure it is something stupid. I will have to give it another shot and check it out more. But sure enough something to do with go launcher froze up my camera.I'm using MIUI, could be a factor too.
ps... I think it's actually up to v2.37 in the market
When you buy the T-Mobile GX2 with Android 2.2.2 , new in the box, what is the default launcher that is installed on it ? It was one that had a big 3d block of apps that you could spin around. Mine had it, but I changed to zeam, and forgot to see what the default one was called.

You don't get 2.2.2 OOTB. Any that TMO ships now have 2.3.3 installed.
I actually prefer Froyo's Launcher over Gingerbread's. It runs alot better, and it feels snappier.

I use Go Launcher EX and don't find it lags at all. I did use Titanium backup to stop TouchWiz launcher and its widgets from running.
Also you can download Spare Parts Pro for free and set Windows and Transition Animations to fast, this will speed up all the animations on the phone.
Hey I'm also using GoLauncher and at first there was a little lag but I solved it in this way:
Goto Preferences, Screen settings, Screen Transition Effects, Custom, and set Speed = 25 and Elastic = 55.
I've done that and its very usable, still stutters on drawing a GoWidget but I only have one so it's all good
I'd say increasing the speed would cause more stutter as its trying to redraw faster, so slower is the key.
I can't wait until they fully utilise the gpu as that seems to be causing the issue, either that or the fact that I haven't fully disabled TouchWiz..

hmm, my note should arrive either later this week or early next week. i might try out shell3d to see if it works well with the note.
Try zeam launcher and disable wallpaper scrolling in the settings. The smoothest launcher I was able to use on the note.

dude dont get me wrong its pretty cool.... but why would you want a ios clone on your phone... i hate the iphone... hey but its cool none-the-less.. there is a better version on the market btw i just cant remember it and ITS FREE... dx home is what its called.. check it out..

The lock screen is called MiLocker. And while I-launcher is paid, it is only 2 dollars. And thank you thcnme956, I like it when people share my videos. I also don't like apple, but I do have to say I love the beautiful UI they have. I was getting kinda board changing LP and ADW and I like to see a change on my phone so yeah. And while DX-home is free, it doesn't have the whole IOS look. Try Espiar Launcher, it is free, but you won't be able to do some of the things on iLuancher.
The latest version force closes every time I try the new change icon/app name feature. iLauncher now is far behind Espier Launcher in terms of stability and usability. I did pay for iLauncher to support the developer but the app is actually getting worse with every update.
Just install a miui rom ;-)
MIUI doesn't look like iOS to me and is available for selected phones only.

I'm not a big fan of iOS, just testing exotic launchers
iLauncher got updated and the icon/text edit fc bug is fixed. Now I see another "small" bug - from time to time the phone freezes and none of the keys can bring the home screen. Reboot is the only cure. This dev is hopeless. Seems like he is trying to do something but he doesn't know exactly how. Every update has a MAJOR issue that makes the entire app unusable.
And in the menu there is "Restore hidden apps" option, but no "Hide apps" option. Interesting.
Testing continues... just for fun. :laugh:
