Hi guys, I currently own a hd2 but i'm thinking of getting the sensation xe. I can order the original sensation for about £300 on Amazon, but the sensation xe goes for around £470. I'm aware that there are several ROM s for the sensation that clock the CPU at 1.5 GHz and give it a beats audio profile, almost making it identical the sensation xe. Would i be better off saving around £170 to £200 and getting the original sensation, or should i get the sensation xe?
My understanding is that the only real hardware difference is the more powerful battery in the XE. Otherwise everything is just software, which you can install on the stock Sensation anyway
There is a thread somewhere that goes into more detail what the differences are.
Well...get a HTC Sensation and use the extra cash to buy a good pair of earphones that owns beats. Root and install beats mod and it'll even be better den Sensation XE

i was just wonderning since both sensation and sensation xe are similar size and weight could it be possible to use sensation xe battery in normal sensation.
if any 1 has tried this then please let me know because if sensation xe battery does work in normal sensation then i will defeniatly get sensation xe battery which is 1730Millamp whereas normal sensation have 1500

I have been running with the EVO3D battery since my purchase back in June. 1720 or so?
So I'm unfamilar with current prices compared to an older phone/new release.
This is only said if price is a concern.

I read somewhere that the sensation XE has a slightly larger battery (by 0.3 cm i think) .. can someone confirm this piece of information ?
EVO 3D, XE battery, Anker (sensation) battery and Chichitec (1900 sensation) battery works...

I had seen on vodafone HTC Sensation, but a few days ago I saw that HTC released new models sesantion, including HTC Sensation XE.
Like to have your opinion on what I choose, in terms of quality and price, preference the phone that last longer without needing to change. have more support.
I have the chance to vodafone HTC Sensation for 350€ and Sensation XE unlock for 550 €

There the same phone the sensation is undrclocked to 1.2 where as the XE is clicked to 1.5 the XE looks slightly better in my opinion and has a bigger battery, the headphones are also rrp£79 with the XE
The hardware is exactly the same, if you plan to custom rom take the sensation if not take the XE

You're suggesting to pick the normal Sensation if he plans to install custom ROMS, why do you have the XE then and install CM7?

Get og sensation. With the money you save buy a bigger sd card and headphones of your choice then root and flash xe rom and bam you have beats edition for a lower price. However i prefer cm7 with dsp manager or power amp

now there's a Sensation XL!! (White!!) Goodness, I think HTC got APPLE virus, "What comes in black, must turn white!"
I agree with some users here. Get the Sensation & root it. But my question:
1) XE model & XL model have bigger internal memory I think. But the RAM is at 768Mb... that's quite unfortunate.
2) Battery life - yes they are slightly larger = 1,620mA (Can't we buy that as a second battery ? - I would. But my battery life looks alright for the 1st month (after rooting, but I realise the charging to 100% is very slow.) I reckon it could be the voltage or the plug. I actually use the old plug with the new Micro USB cable.

The normal sensation runs at 1.5ghz and got the beats audio? or just the speed processor?
You can have both, tbh the beats software is pants power amp is better

1GB RAM and 16GB internal? You sure, im buying it next week, all speces show 4gb(1gb usable), and 768 RAM, even on HTC web, gsmarena..and so...
EIDT: Sorry didint notice you wrote XL, its all OK
XL only supports 720p video recording and lacks a card slot. I have just got the XE and I'm super impressed with it.
i like my sensation don't think the other models are worth it.. unless you like red and the headphones...
I was always a Sony Ericson man, then got the Desire - fabulous!
Next I upgraded to the Desire HD and now have the Sensation XE - brilliant, fast, good looking. Great sound & free headphones. Amazing phone... go for it

If u want to save more just buy the normal sensation but if u more too music go for XE,its bundle with beats earpiece i have both & lovin it!

how about the screen ?? ,, is it as washed as they say in reviews? I'm asking cause i know when you using it daily it's not the same .. so how's it from your point of view?
I have the XE and the screen looks great, although there is some text ghosting when scrolling through settings menu etc. Nothing that concerns me though.

There are 2 type of screen. If you got the AUO acer, then you got the vivid, pinkiest color, gosting issue and no wash a way screen. But if you got Sharp screen, you got screen with no vivid or pinkiest and gosting issue, but you got wash a way screen. Search thread about the two type screen on general section and you will understand it.

I believe that the 4G is more or less the US model of the standard Sensation.
Sensation vs XE do have different processors:
1.2GHz Dual-core vs 1.5GHz Dual-core
and different size internal memory:
1GB vs 4GB

the sensation 4G is of US tmobile one...it is same as normal sensation except for extra antenna to support the t-mobile 4G speeds ..if you want to use it in india..doesnt matter what you got..as at the end we have only 3G
rgarding GSM network each model works fine ...no probs at all
as for Xe...except for the mesh being red..and beats logo on back..its the same as sensation but with overpiriced/hyped beats ear phones...the earphones are good but they are completely over priced
the software which supports beats audio in XE ...has already been ported to sensation via custom roms
EDIT: as for speed sensation XE processors are clocked to 1.5 GHZ and even though sensation processors are same they are underclocked to 1.2GHZ ...but you can over clock your processor using custom RMS/kernels
Also sensation XE got better battery than sensation
you can flash any custom rom made for sensation XE on sensation(4G too) and vice versa

Actually, I remember reading here that some people found a document or something that claimed that the fourth antenna on the Sensation 4G is for A-GPS. I can confirm this because I purchased a white Sensation XE case that lacks the fourth antenna and have zero speed issues. I have noticed slightly slower GPS locks, but only by a few seconds.
Hello! I just bought a HTC Sensation second hand and it has some scratches. Is it possible to put Sensation XE housing on it? I would really like to have that Beats logo on the back and the white aluminium parts. As I know Sensation XE has larger capacity battery. So is the battery bigger in dimentions too? And are the components different in matter of size? I just want to replace the original housing with Sensation XE housing.

yeah, you can, battery on XE has bigger capacity, but its te same size, so, go ahead..
