I have not heard of such a problem. Flash twice , do factory reset, install skin 1980 cwm and test it.

Its a problem that everyone face when on oc kernel....its not only you.....these oc kernel are very unstable
Hmm but if my packet data is not active it seem fine never having sod. Even though i set cpu on screen off at minimum value
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
thats very familiar probs when using oc kernel.. everyone here face the same probs.. we are still waiting for stable oc kernel. so now i recommend u to use stable kernel which is has provided by skin1980 (CF-Root 05sept)..
As what they mentioned here and over at the other thread OC kernel is very unstable and is not advisable to be used.. Use the non oc kernel for better result..

oc kernels are not stable and lack a lot of proprietary files !instal cf root skins version 5/09

Everytime i have tried flashing a CM7 based rom, and i've tried almost all of them, once the screen goes to sleep it won't wake up. i think that's called sleep of death (SOD), pardon my n00bness if i'm wrong. the odd thing is that when i press the wake button, the phone and even the digitizer wake up because i can hear/feel the phone unlocking when i make the sliding motion on the screen, but the screen itself will not wake up. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? or better yet any ways of preventing/fixing this?
Do you have this issue on stock?

What kernel r u using? If u flashed uv kernel try to use stock voltage, some devices don't work well with custom uv kernels
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I have this problem with all 3 kernels, stock, oc UV, and oc stock voltage .. I've had this phone for a month now, this is what makes it a waste of money for me. Even my girl has this problem with her g2x, yesterday I put cm 7.1, hers started doing it too.. and she's had 3 replacements..
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
Did u wipe ur data and format system before flashing? Try to fix permission too. Only guessing but maybe the battery is bad, as far as I know u not getting new one with replacement, so if u had same issue on stock rom that could be a problem.
I had 2 replacements but had that problem only if undervolt too much.

Well, I don't think its the battery dying but someone mentioned here before that if you look at the battery where the connectors are, there's 4 on the battery but 3 on the phone

No this issue only occurs on CM7 based roms, OTA 2.3.3 based roms work great

I haven't purposely flashed any non-stock kernels alongside the roms, unless all the roms i flashed included UV kernels....but i've flashed almost every CM7 based rom

I did wipe data, format system and even fix permissions and still same problem occurs, I don't think it has to do with the battery tho because stock OTA based roms don't have this issue...it must be something particular about the CM7 base
Also, could it be the fact that i have the WIND mobile optimus 2x? it says p999-DW on the back though
use miui it doesnt have the SOD problem cm7 did it the last time i had it (3 days ago)
the problem is that my phone never works above 715 over clock and always either reboots or hangs.i have tried this with all roms(creeds,fitdroid,cm7.1,cm7.2,even cm9) but everytime same thing happens.
sometimes it works for a while and then hangs.
pls help cause everyone else have their running at 763 without any problem.is this hardware damage or something else?????
i have used squadzone kernel and one optimized by vish for fitdroid.
Ok follow this steps first download a stock rom wihich has all 4 files then flash it. Remember don't flash with one package option. Then flash recovery after that flash the music edition rom after that use the squadzone kernal and you will be able to use it flawlessly

check if there are any background app runnings(for e.g facebook app) which is continuously using the processor (and that too at 715 continuously. if there are then that could be one of the reasons. I experienced it, i stopped those apps and then it was fine.

Use setcpu and set screen off profile at min 122mhz and max at 600mhz
and only set clock speed to max when you need processor hungry task like games
I am currently on CM9A13 by Dhiru. I love ICS for al its features. But the battery life is very poor. Even at night the phone discharges 30% or so. I am unable to understand from the BetterBatteryStats and I am attaching some screens if anyone can help me understand the reason for battery drain.
I have come from GB to ICs without factory reset and always just wipe cache/dalvik and format /dbdata. Is this one of the reason for poor battery life? Can I get a better battery life if I flash CM9 fresh. What should be the procedure to follow in that case? Which base and then CM9?
I am going on a holiday next month and will be using maps. So if the battery drain is so severe I cannot use it at all as I cannot charge when on the move.
Which ROM would you recommend for better battery life?
Going on a holiday...Hmmmm
i recommend u flashing the stock DDLF2 and then The Frankenstien^Mod !!
i am currently on this rom..and trust me it wont dissappoint u !!
Ics does drain battery at this stage of development.go back to stock gb
Ddlf2 bam 14 fix kernel and use set
cpu and create profiles according to need.covert to ext4 for better speed at lower frequencies.use v6 supercharger battery fix

Hey thanks for the replies. Haven't flashed from scratch in a long time.
What is the exact procedure? Which CF-Root to use?
Can I use Bam kernel with Frankenstein Mod?
Will Frankstein Mod auto convert to EXT or I have to do this manually? How?
Where is v6 supercharger battery fix? Does this not work with ICS?
As both members above said, use LF2 mod by Frankenstain with BAM kernelv15 (see post 1072 on his thread). It's pretty good for battery life.
But, I'm not sure it will help you when you use mobile internet with maps for navigation. If you are traveling by car, better keep a car charger handy.
Also, turn of all kind of sync. If you got Titanium backup pro, just freeze all appz that you think might use up battery juice, including live wallpapers/etc.
All the best.
---------- Post added at 12:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 PM ----------
If you're on cm9, you can just go to recovery, do a full wipe, and flash lf2 rom and then after reboot .. let it run for a while .. then reboot again. Then use mobile odin or odin to flash BAM kernel v15.
Use titanium app to freeze ur all Drm.apk and syncmldm.apk
No effect for mms and received calling..

Sounds like you have some rogue processes that are causing race conditions on your phone. Are you monitoring with BBS and/or CPU Spy?

Mass storage doesn't work on our 4.2.2 Roms atm. The reboots tend to be caused by the massive change to the cm kernel which will get cleared up soon enough. Personally I'm not running into them though.

How do I correct the issue? wifi will work when I reinstall but If I try to go back to the stock kernel it no longer will. This kernel is WAY slower than the stock kernel.

fauxsound coding is actually done in my private build, but HTC did something non-standard and is conflicting with fauxsound kernel drivers.. that's why i didn't release it yet.. need to troubleshoot and see what HTC has done to the standard sound driver from Qualcomm...
HTC always do something different from everyone else including the reference design from Qualcomm.... Sometimes they OVER engineered...
