OK,
If this has been asked, I can't seem to locate it, so sorry if I am repeating a question.
I just rooted and installed CM-7 on the GS2(ATT i777). All appears to be working, but when I go to assign a ringtone to an individual caller, I cannot locate where to do that at all. I found how to set the default tone, and it is now one of my custom tones, but for an individual, it just seems to be out of reach, hiding somewhere.. Help??

I've been setting specific ringtones for certain contacts for the longest, and now all of a sudden, my phone isn't recognizing them. Only one of my contacts actually rings with the ringtone I set for it, the rest ring my general ringtone. Any ideas on how to correct this? BTW I have the EnergyROM 2.0 Beta...if that matters...
The subject basically says it. I can't find a tutorial for my specific phone the Sprint Samsung Transform. I have downloaded my songs, trimmed them down, created the ringtones folder on the root of my sd card, and dropped the mp3s in there. went back to phone settings sounds and notifications. changed my phones ringtone, that worked. now i want to change the sound the plays when i receive a new text, but i cannot find the option to do that on the phone. am i missing something or is there a hack or anything that will enable this?
i found a sort of fix for this. change your notification ringtone to whatever you want your text message ringtone to be. the only problem is it makes that same sound for every notification. most noticeably when you plug your phone ino the charger. thats the best ive figured out tho.
I've added a ring tone to a contact in my list, but when they call it just plays the main ring tone. Anyone else having this issue? I searched and didn't see anything, this is a HTC Arrive (with NoDo of course) not sure if that matters.
Thanks for any info.
I also noticed this.
I figured it was due to the custom ringtone i added.
I also added a custom ringtone, but if I set a contacts ringtone to one of the built in ones it still doesn't work. Perhaps the act of adding a custom ringtone breaks the ability to set contact specific ringtones? I hadn't set one before that so I'm not sure. I'll try deleting the custom ringtone (if I can) and see if I can then set contact specific ringtones. Anyone who has never added a custom ringtone and does have contact specifc ring tones? are they working?
Thanks
Ok, odd problem and I am not sure if this is the best place to ask.
Handcent started playing the "Droid" ringtone as its default the other day. I didnt change it. I set it back to custom and it is fine. So I can gather
BUT - now all custom contacts that I had individual ringtones for, or even ones I didnt have custom tones for ring as "Droid" and not the Handcent default.
System default is also set to this custom tone. I havent tried deleting and seeing what happens yet with new incoming
But I really needed custom tones because I get 911 texts for emergency dispatch and have special tones for it.
This just started happening after recent update I think.
Any suggestions
Searched here and on google and found nothing helpful to my particular problem. I am currently on a TeamEOS 4.4.4 ROM (7-11-14 nightly) and also had this problem on Cyanogen 10.2.1. I have my default ringtone set to silent because I work nights and get a lot of calls but there are very few people who I want to be able to wake me up, those people all have a ringtone set in the contacts section. None of them ring more than once. It's once, then silence, it doesn't go to voicemail after that - the rings on the caller's end are normal, and the phone continues to act like it is ringing with the little animation and it vibrates, it just doesn't make a noise. With the default ringtone set to a ring it rings as it should. What is the deal with this? Note: They aren't custom ringtones, they're stock with this ROM, custom ringtones that functioned as they should before I rooted function incorrectly now, so it is not the files themselves. Fresh install/reset does not help.
Are you having this issue on sense? Also, double check volume controls. They aren't consolidated so maybe the ringer specific control is off

It's with sense or whatever manages notifications in the ROM, I haven't used an addon app. I checked and it's certainly not the volume controls.
Well then try an RUU. I've never heard of anything like this
Ages later and with a newer ROM and it still does this. Nobody else has this problem?
