Hi,
I installed cynogen rim 5.0.6 and all was working fine, i didnt have the google apps but i fixed that , then i tried to install a little theme call Kspeclite v1.17 i did this through the "install from sd" option in the "ra nexus 1.7.0" boot thing.
So i restart and it goes to load fine but then i get this error upon unlocking the phone "The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher2) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
from there it just gives me one option "force close" so i do that, and it just keeps appearing can not get to anything else as its too quick, have i bricked?
I tried to restore but i restored and now the google boot screen appears for one time then the blue one appears once then backto the google one then back to the hacked one!
What can i do? Please help im freaking out big time!
If you did a nandroid backup before applying the theme then reapply that backup. If not wipe and then reflash CM and Gapps pack.
thanks heaps, so i just select the wipe, and to the dalvak as well! DONE!
Re-installing rom again now! Really hope this works!

EXCELLENT!! it worked thank you so much i really really appreciate it!!
Can i ask another question?
So once i install my necessary apps i should create a restore point, am i able to delete the current restore poitns and am i able to rename them? So i can called on with CM ROM with no apps, and then CM ROM with gapps etc?
Im so happy you helped me mate, you have no idea how happy I am right now! thanks heaps!!
It still has all my apps that i installed before! Why is that after i wiped it?
Are you a developer? can i make a donation?
ok so the other day i rooted my motorola bravo with z4root. downloaded titanium back up. well here the point i accidentally deleted some of the google apps that the phone needed and also i deleted all the at&t apps which i also needed. I tried almost everything i can find on the web but no help. (*frustrated*) I tried to enter recovery mode do a full reset still didnt bring me back to my original stock rom. everything was still deleted and I didnt do any back ups which was dumb of me.
is there anyway i can get the original rom booted back into my bravo? or atleast an update. i tried the cm7 2.3 gingerbread that was also a failed. the post for it says you need to have clockwork 3.0.5 recovery but i cant download it. (my market isnt working either i keep getting this error *com.google.process.gapps*) i literately tried everything on google about the error and all that still nothing ..
Please can anyone help?
Do you still need help

WTF? This thread is 17 months old and you've not added anything worth bringing it back to life for. :banghead:
Sent from the darkest corners of my mind.
Need anybody's help!
I rooted back in June, so here's what I had (from memory),
PBJ kernel, voodoo lagfix, and CWM recovery (might be old).
Anyway, I edited the secgps.conf in another post about fixing GPS. I made
a back-up of the original. Anyway, in the other post, he states to reboot,
then it will take awhile but after the first GPS lock, it should work faster.
Well...I rebooted, and it was still way-off...even worse than before. After 10 minutes, I rebooted...then got stuck with the Red Eye at boot.
I took out the battery, plugged back in, etc. Still stuck at Red Eye...even plugged into outlet...letting it go...still that way for over an hour.
Any method of getting in, and just replacing the secgps.conf with the original, then try rebooting? What are my options? Don't want to wipe out everything, especially if I have the voodoo lagfix?
Help! Thanks in advance,
Sara :$

well if it won't boot you can't replace the original file, unless you know about ADB and how to use it... you may need to go back to stock with the PIT file and start over, its not a huge deal and doesn't take long plus the roms out now are way better than the older ones
Dear anoninja118,
I actually let the phone sit for an 3 hours while I worked...it finally got through boot.
However, I thought I had lost root... most of my apps were gone...bloatware came back that I had frozen.... getting force closures on all the apps.
I went into ADB and I still have root (although Superuser app shows no listing ).
I put back that original GPS file rebooted...but nothing..things remained the same as previously stated.
All my files are all intact, have CWM, but it states no voodoo lagfix. Any ideas on how to repair? Can I just switch to another ROM? Keep my files/data?
Thanks,
Sara

well what rom were you running? you could just reflash it (shouldn't need to wipe) to return it to 'normal'... also if root was lost I can upload superuser.apk, just flash it and you'll get root back

Yikes...being new to all this stuff, and I did it a few months back, I don't believe I flashed a ROM. I think I did jt1134's kernel (Root / Voodoo Lagfix / CWM Recovery), then I might flashed the PBJ kernel that was available at that time.
Ironically, I've been having many issues with bluetooth and GPS problems recently, and heard that there was a new Gingerbread update. I wanted to wait for the official release, then have one of the programmer gods make a new kernel/ROM. I am not ready to jump to GB yet, and I want to keep all my files. I backed-up many of my apps with Titanium back-up, and saved via DropBox.
Anyway, I thought about reflashing...but if I do the jt1134 scenario...it's via Odin..won't that erase everything. I guess all my stuff is on the SD card, right?
Thanks so much for helping out a damsel in distress,
Sara

yes any Odin flash will wipe all data thats not backed up, if you use titanium backup for apps, export a contact list to your sd card that you can import later and you should be fine you'll just lose settings and things like login info for apps which you will have to set up again after... and yes you could do jt1134's method again or you could just flash debloated rooted stock EE4 in CWM (which will be exactly like what you're using) as well as one of the newer kernels, if you want to go the Odin route I would suggest Gummy FE 2.0 or Humble 1.6 as they are both very stable and tweakable/themeable plus come with all the goodies like root, CWM, custom rom and kernel (however if you wiped data and both caches in CWM you could also just flash the rom .zips right over what you're using instead)
Thanks for helping again. So, if I understand correctly, I could use CWM to get debloated rooted stock EE4, and I would still have my data?
Sorry I got confused with "(however if you wiped data and both caches in CWM you could also just flash the rom .zips right over what you're using instead)". So instead of Odin, I could just use CWM with wipe data and cache to flash a new ROM, correct?
That's what confuses me...when to use CWM and when to use Odin? Oh, should I update to the newest CWM (I hope that's easy) first?
Thanks so much...hate to bug you on the weekend, but I need to get this fixed before Monday for work!

you can use either one CWM or Odin, unfortunately you will lose data no matter what... I only said that you could use CWM instead since you already have it and it might be a little easier that way, but both ways will work
okay..thanks for helping. No matter what I choose...I'll cross my fingers!

You shouldn't have rooted your phone. Sounds like you don't know what you are doing at all. So I would google "how to flash with odin", then go back to totally stock.

Hey guys I wish my first post would be more positive but I think I've screwed the pooch. I flashed a rom for the first time yesterday (Infused v1.6.0) without a hitch and I got cocky I guess. I have rom manager, 3e recovery, root explorer all in place. Super one click to root. Well, today I tried to flash MIUI 1.1.11 and got into the red recovery screen. Wiped cache/factory reset, then wiped delvik, went to flash the rom. Now I'm stuck on the scrolling screen (I'm new so dont know the lingo too well). It says:
Installing: SDCARD:MIUI-Infuse-1.1.11.zip - Shortcut.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Its been there for like a half hour, with no progress showing in the bar below it. What do I do? Am I just screwed? Pleeeeeease help me I'm freakin out. Thanks guys.

Damn! you are screwed!!! go throw your phone where I can find it. LOL...I keed!
Nah you are ok. if you can get back to recovery, go to mounts and format system, then reflash miui. But why are you trying to flash an old version of Miui
I apologize in advance I'm super new to customizing. That version is the one I found first so I just went with it. By getting back to recovery do I pull the battery, then hold vol up and dwn plus power till the samsung logo? Thanks for replying so quickly.
Edit* I got back into recovery (red) and did that but it stays on the same place. Went back in to recovery (red) tried to reboot and got stuck on Samsung logo. Now back to recovery. This sucks.
I went ahead and flashed back to Infused from clockwork and everything went smooth. I would still like to get the MIUI rom so any help is greatly appreciated. I'm sure you guys have more important things to do than hold my hand through this, but if you happen to have the time it would be awesome. Thanks again!

go back to recovery and format system then flash miui, after it finishes flashing you will bootloop and again you go to recovery and reflash miui. If that doesn't help, odin back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
. head over to the dev forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278053 and follow those steps. MikyMike posted the lastes of miui.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060098
Installation:
1. Place .zip onto internal SD card
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Wipe Cache
4. Wipe Data
5. Flash the ROM .zip
If your phone doesn't boot:
6. Shut down the phone
7. Reboot into CWM using 3 button
8. Flash the ROM .zip again
9. Enjoy
Known bugs:
Bluetooth is semi-working (A2DP audio skips, no sound/mic on phone calls via headsets)
No HDMI out
You'll note these two are the same bugs as CM. The two are closely related and MIUI will always have the same problems as CM (more or less). So don't ask me to fix them, if I'll fix them, when I'll fix them, when it'll be done, how many quarters go into a dollar, or any other such question.
Speaking of which, big thanks to LinuxBozo for porting CM, without which this would not be possible.
Thanks again. I clicked that link for the ROM on my phone and it took me to the mediafire site to download. Can I do it from my phone?

Thank you!!! Man you're a life saver. Im on my phone right now but when I get to my laptop I'll "officially" thank you. And, yes, this rom was worth the hassle.

So I was able to successfully root my AT&T HTC One X and decided I wanted to install the CM 10 ROM (1st ROM install). I did all the data backups with Titanium, downloaded the latest zip files from cyanogenMod (both the 12/13 and 12/14 nightly versions), transferred them to my phone, booted into recovery (TWRP), did a back-up, did a system wipe, flashed the ROM and then did a reboot. However, when it boots it gets stuck in the boot-up screen (bootloop) and doesn't do anything. I have read on this and it keeps saying to wipe system data again and flash the ROM again and it keeps doing this. I want to install this ROM, but I need some help. Any suggestions on what I did wrong?
Note: I accidentally posted this in the Android Q&A section, so I apologize for the double post. I just think this is probably the best place to get my answer.
Did you flash the boot.img?
I did, but incorrectly the first time. I flashed it the right way and everything is working good. Then only problem I have now is when restoring from Titanium Backup it gives me an error from a process called com.android.phone (I think that is what it said). So I wiped it again and rebooted and everything is fine. I can reinstall all the apps, but what could cause that? Could it be some of the data backed up doesn't cooperate with this ROM? Either way I love the CM10 ROM.

if they are backups from sense, that *MAY* cause problems, but don't quote me on that. I don't use sense, can't say for sure
OK, maybe that is why. Not a big deal since I haven't had the One X too long. Thanks for the help guys.
