Hi all. I recently bought a Logitech Harmony Link so I could use my Cappy as remote for my AV system. The Logitech Harmony Link app is available in the Market but I am running a 2.3.5 ROM (Fasty3 right now) and the Market won't let me download the app. I can download it on my wife's phone running 2.2 so I know it is there. Does anyone have or know where I can get the apk and install it myself? I have Googled and found nothing....thanks!

That's plan B. If I start messing with her phone and it has a problem....any problem at all, ever, you know who's fault it is....
is that a free or paid app? if its a paid app, sorry that is against forum rules to post, or link to it.
freeze or uninstall market updater with tibu.
now go to setting>apps>manage apps>all>market and uninstall updates
you have to go back to a version before it got all tiled so if it doesnt roll back that far you will have to find an older market...

It was removed because Google Maps was updated with Google Navigation and it's ONLY for Android 1.6 and 2.0.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to download it anymore from the market at least until we get Android 2.0 on our phones.
Here is version 3.1.2 from my phone. Please UNZIP it before you try installing it. I suggest using ASTRO File Manager to install the .apk file.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a million, ironically this was probably the most difficult file to Google for.
Happy Thanksgiving for giving.
I know Voice Actions for Android is coming out soon. But what I don't know is when. Please tell me because it seems so so awesome.

wow, I am late in the game. Where can I download it? Is their a QR code?
Go to the market and download "Voice Search." It should update you with the new version.
If you're using a custom ROM you may need to uninstall the old version first using Titanium Backup or Terminal. If so uninstall, reboot and install the new one from the market.

I can not find it in the market. Prob for the best though seeing how I have a Samsung Vibrant and it hasn't been updated to Android 2.2 yet.
I suppose I will just have to stick with Vlingo for now sadly.
and in another languages?
Hi,

i have rooted Desire with AuraxTsense rom ... g mail is "locked" to the rom so i can't uninstall it or update...
is possible to have a renamed .apk (just like for googl maps "brut modded") so i can install both and then use the updated one? or where i can found it? tnx
I have this on my Vibrant but it still doesn't have the priority inbox feature.
I managed to find the apk on one of the Samsung forums shortly after its announcement - using a MIUI build on my HD2, and it didn't like pasting the new Gmail over the old one in /system/app/, nor removing the old one and pasting the new one - it was still showing the previous version without the priority inbox and so forth. To fix this, I had to restore the original Gmail apk that I'd backed up, then clear data from the settings/applications menu, then paste the new apk, then install over it from the market.
Native Android users will need to be rooted to do this, if it wasn't obvious.

You should be able to remove the original with Titanium Backup, then you should be good to go.
You people do know that this is available from the Market, and will update the version in your phone's /system folder just fine.
Right?

Apparently they don't... I updated it yesterday here from the market, although I don't use the GMail app at all...
The update is not yet available to everyone. TBH I cannot see most of the Google apps in the market myself.
This is just an opportunity for those less fortunate to mess around with it.

Yes indeed you can download atrackdog from the market and it should say version number you have and wether there is an update or not

Menu/apps/all or running/market.... it will say what version you have at the top... I don't think all of the roms are setup to work with any market
Yeah my thoughts but like I said if you know what you are doing or at least make a back up of the old market apk just in case it forcloses or even a nadroid, it won't hurt lol

Usually when someone says " like I said" that means they already stated it. Sorry I thought you'd of understood what I was saying. Carry on
yeah looks like this is old news lol. CM7 has had 2.3.6 for a while now.
For those wanting to check your Market version, no need to download an app to do it. Just go Settings > Applications > All Apps > Market.
thx

I am running Cyanogen 6.1.0. It has the old market. I downloaded the apk you provided, then used APK Manager to install it. It reported the application was not installed and sure enough I still have the old Market.
Any ideas how I can upgrade?
Umm weird, it should overwrite the old market
Try deleting old market using root explorer the ln reinstall new market

I did try delete the old Market using Titanium Backup, and it did delete it. Then I installed the new Market using several installers, but the installers all say "Application not installed".
Did you try to move the apk to system/app ? Then reboot?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
I did and it just would not show up in my apps. Eventually I came across a file someone put up which I flashed and it did install the new market. So, I am OK now.
alrighty good for you

Hi All,
I'm running 4.3.1 Beanstalk rom.
I been trying to download BBM messenger off the play store but says its incompatible. I'm wondering if it's the rom that's making it so. I don't wanna wipe phone and go back to default rom just for this app.
If anyone knows a work around please help.
much appreciated.
Fine for me running Dirty Unicorns. Have you changed DPI?

Didn't work for me on CM10.2, on the support site it says it doesn't support custom ROM's, not sure how it worked on DU. I side loaded it and it works fine.

I found a copy of the apk file in the wild, enabled 'install from unknown sources' in the settings (under Security I think?, it's been awhile), and then use a file manager to open the BBM apk from your downloads folder, and then install it. Basically you are bypassing the Play Store, and trusting that the apk you got hasn't been messed with. It's a bit of a leap of faith, and if you download a hacked version that steals all your data, not my fault, so don't cry if it happens.

Thanks for the reply.
I got an older version I believe. I think the play store one is v 2.0 something and the one I got is 1.10 but its working fine. Just added bunch of frnds. Chat with one of them and seem legit.
Those version numbers don't jive with what I know. The version I have is 1.0.0.70, latest play store is 1.0.0.72

You can't (well, you can download it, but it won't work), it only supports Android 4.0 and up. Any reason why you haven't upgraded?

Is Kies up to date? If so, check your cable or USB port on your phone (among other things).

Mate DO NOT WORRY!! It's something common that happens to people on Custom ROM... It happened to me when I was in BeanStalk!! What I did was:
1) Download Aptoide
2) Download BBM from Aptoide
And it worked! Trust me. You don't have to uninstall any update from the store or anything like that. Just follow my steps.
