[Q] Can't find how to interop-unlock HTC Trophy w/NoDo, help.. - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I apologize if this has been talked about or asked about before, but I've spent hours searching and couldn't find a concrete step-by-step answer.
I currently have the HTC Trophy (Verizon), it is running NoDo (7392) and is dev-unlocked (student unlocked). I am trying to figure out how to Interop-unlock the phone while I am still on NoDo. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't an Interop-unlock allow you to sideload more than 10 applications?
If someone can provide me with some assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With a NoDo Dev-unlock, you can side load Schap's Registry Editor and then you need to change a registry value. Have you used any registry editors?
The change is;
Registry Key = HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install\MaxUnsignedApp
datatype = integer
value = 2147483647
You basically type this in manually into the Registry Editor and save. Then reboot phone. Please be careful and I am just summarizing the steps here from memory so I may have forgotten a step (I don't accept responsibility)

Thanks for the reply. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction as to the step-by-step instructions on how to interop-unlock on NoDo? You mentioned installing Schap's Registry Editor and changing a value, but then mentioned that you're summarizing from memory.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Go to this site and download version 1.1.0.0 of the registry editor.
http://forum.touchxperience.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=593
Use the Application Deployment program that you have from the AppHub to deploy to your phone.
Launch Registry Editor and select the pencil at the bottom (this is manual mode).
Enter the following:
Path
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install\
Value Name
MaxUnsignedApp
Value Type
Integer
Value Data
2147483647
Then select OK and then accept the warning. Reboot. Done.

Thanks very much. I will give that a try this weekend and post the results here.
Question- how do I make a backup of my current phone? Is there an application I can use to make a backup? I'm guessing that's the next step before doing the interop-unlock (or even attempting to upgrade to Mango after doing the interop-unlock), in case something breaks and I need to roll-back to NoDo.
Please let me know, thanks.

PocketCMD working on WM5

Hi there,
I found the following very interesting:
To make PocketConsole run on Windows Mobile 5, you have to change the
registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Console\OutputTo
to value 0.
The original piece can be found here:
http://www.ce4you.cz/forums/view_topic.asp?t=13033
I haven't tested yet, but that would be lovely!
Enjoy,
Hal
It works!
I confirm that PocketConsole, PocketCMD and Nettools do work with the change in the registry.
Hal
which version of windows
I would like to use pocketcmd, but cannot find the registry entry you refer to on vista or xp - help!
a blonde novice
it's registry entrys on the pda not on the pc!
Ok, Ok I'm a muppet! - that said, I did change the value on my phone and it still doesn't work (says the device is not supported) - it's a samsung i620 smartphone - any ideas? (I'm trying to get some pgp support on it, so any alternative ideas also welcome!)
Thanks very much for this
I was trying to run PocketCMD in my iPAQ to test a simple console application that I developed to try my compiler on Linux.
Just to be more organized. please put this things inside code tags
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Console\OutputTo -> 0
Thanks,

[Q] Need help to restore registry keys

I am new to posting, so I hope I'm in the right place and I am not breaking any rules. I just my HTC Arrive unlocked through developer registration. I wanted to change the settings from 16-bit to 32-bit, but I think I did it wrong . I got a registry editor and in these 3 spots I edited:
HKLM/Drivers/Display/Primary/BPP to 32 (but I think it was already set to that)
HKLM/Drivers/Display/Primary/PanelBPP is set back to 16
HKLM/Drivers/Display/Primary/PrimBPP is set back to 16
I was wondering what the default values of these were because my dumb self forgot to write down what they were.
Or if someone could explain the write way to change it to 32-bit that would be great! Thank you!

Please need help noob registry edit how to

Is there any YouTube video or forum or something that will teach me how to edit my registry I have wp7 hd7 thanks
I seriously question the logic of anybody who needs to ask a forum for a "YouTube video or forum or something" instead of just entering some terms into your preferred search engine asking for this. You're trying to do something quite delicate and potentially destructive, although typically registry editing can be undone with a hard reboot if you screw up. That said, yes, it's possible.
First, you need developer unlock. There's a number of ways to get it. I personally have an apphub (developer) account, but Chevronwp7 labs is cheaper unless you're a student.
Second, you need to either be on pre-Mango (anything up to 7403 will work) or be interop-unlocked. I'm not going to go into the details of how to interop-unlock an HD7, but it's possible; I did it. There are instructions on the Development and Hacking sub-forum, along with an app (U2M7720).
Third, install any of the very large number of apps that can do registry editing. The standard one is the very obscurely-named "Registry Editor" app by schaps on http://touchxperience.com. If you'r enot on Mango yet, you can also grab Advanced Explorer from Codeplex; it gives registry and filesystem access in the same app but was never updated for mango.

Is there any registy editor can modify binary value?

Dear all
Any one could provide one registy editor can modify binary value? I really need it to complete something, Thx.
It can be done with provxml. Look up the format for binary registry data in XML provisioning, and then use one of the many provxml apps such as DiagProvXML (or write your own one-off, which I do all the time) to process it on the phone.
Requires being interop-unlocked and on a phone which supports provxml, of course, but that's actually a bigger set of phones than the ones that have working registry editors right now (even if interop-unlock is difficult on HTC).

Do you want Binary and Multistring values registry editor?

Hi friends. I am working on registry plugin for Phone Commander. There is possible to make Binary and Multistring values management, but it will a lot of to do. Could you anybody use it? For example for language changing etc. I found no one WP7 registry editor able to write those values (Schapman's one can read it only, my very old HTC7ProMultistring.xap and Hex2Base64.xap can prepare ProvXML code for importing only). I do not want to lost time for unusing feature, post your mind.
