I just recently installed cm 7.1.1 and I cannot get my wifi tether to work. I can successfully start the tether app and start tethering but when any of my devices try to connect to my Thunderbolt it gets stuck on obtaining IP address. I have my thunderbolt app set device as thunderbolt. My routing fix is on. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? I've also tried open garden and it doesn't work either. Also have tried the wifi app included in cm 7.1.1 and it doesn't work all are doing the same thing. Please help I love cm but if I can't get it working ill have to flash to something else.

Try running the tether, if it doesn't work wait a bit than turn off and turn back in the wifi tether. Normally works for me after that.

If this is like most of the newer ROMs and you're using a newer radio there's a fix for the wifi tether app. There's something in the new radio(s) that disables the tether from working correctly.
I've used the fix on all of my TBolts, none of them worked (wifi tether that is) after upgrading radio and ROM. I'm running Eaton ROM 1.7.
PM me for the fix, but we aware it's to be used at your own risk.

Don't know it this will help, but I thought I read somewhere to uninstall TetheringGuard. I use Titanium Backup and froze it.

Anyone else having trouble with Performance settings not sticking? They will stick for a while, but after a reboot the revert back to stock(even with it set up to remember settings after reboot). Superuser is being denied after reboot to allow its changes to the Performance Settings.
I can't post in the DEV thread yet, or I would have.

Anyone? Or at least post this in the CarbonRom thread so I can get an answer. I've tried full wipes, flashing different versions of the ROM and even reverting to stock and starting completely from scratch. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Is there a way to Unroot the Evo Shift without using a USB connection to my PC? My USB port on the phone is borked. Currently using the latest Supreme Sense. I do not necessarily need to return to stock, just unroot with absolutely no trace of Superuser. I tried the hide my root apps but Good Enterprise still finds it..
There is a bio bootloader img floating around here some where download it root of sd card boot into bootloader and bam couple minutes stock

I have used CM 10, 10.1 & 10.2 all do not work with tethering.
I like the CM ROMs but I need tether to work. Can anyone recommend a stable ROM that tethering works on?
Works fine for me I'm calling user error.

Thanks for he condescending response
Have you actually used tethering with Cyanogenmod 10.2 on an i727R?
I don't mean just switching it on, but actually using a tethered wifi (from a Windows or Mac laptop).
It has never worked for me. Whenever I odin back to stock it does.
It *could* be user error. I am a pretty technical guy & I know how to switch tethering on -- how would *you* troubleshoot it?
Works fine I tether to an evo and a laptop on occasion

I just flashed Mahdi Rom 4.4.4.. Everything seemed working at first until I opened up youtube and tried to watch a video. Turns out my accelerometer wasnt working. I tried using different applications to see if the accelerometer was working or not and it wasn't. I made the settings for the accelerometer were on but no luck. I tested the phone some more and realized that NONE of my sensors are working. I did some research and found out that its possible I need to flash the current KitKat Modem/Baseband? I was on a jellybean Rom before flashing Mahdi. Can anyone let me know if this will be safe and if this is what I need to do?
Try this

As far as I know, modems can be flashed safely.
