the changes are already on the heavily discussed thread no point in making wasteful threads

its fine. Though you shouldve added the changelog ..it makes this thread into one of these "FIRST!" posts!

It looks like the update mentions analog pad support - anyone able to verify this? Since 2.3.4 apparently breaks the official emulator with unofficial ROMs I'm looking at getting this..

"Added Bluez IME support, detection is automatic, support analog pads and preliminary Vibration on Wiimote"
I am not entirely sure it's speaking about Xperia Play there when it says analog pads..

Gingerbread Keyboard

Here is the gingerbread keyboard - mostly compliments of AndroidBruce. I got another version working from my own SDK - but it is really slow compared to this one for some reason. MD5's on the so and apk are the same ????? oh well here is this one if anyone wants it.
Flash as an update.zip - this was only tested by me on stock dk28.
To enable go to settings > Locale and Text > check Android Keyboard.
I had to go up to select input method 3 times to get it it show up in the list...
Known issues:
Seems that user dictionary doesn't work...i'll look into it.
Perks:
it's multitouch, and best of all its not swype (I feel a "Swype is awesome" remark coming)
Differences from this version?
I flashed it. Its just the stock android keyboard with multi touch. I'll keep my swype
Thanks anyways!

They got the Auto correct working. The only thing not working is the vibrate on touch. You guys should collaborate.. Thanks for the hard work...
I give this 12 hours before I merge with the other thread...in fact I might just move both of them to the Apps section

I don't think this counts as an app or theme. Its a PORT that needs continuing DEVELOPMENT to function 100%.
Anyways, the other one I tried made me have to restore because its only for deodexed ROMs. I don't wanna install a rom. I like stock. Will it make me have to restore again?
Ps, I know you said its on stock, butdo you mean the .tar stock or acs rom (which is also considered stock deodexed I think...idk lol)

Thanks for porting the app. Hopefully, all features will be working soon.
I'd say that with this new keyboard, all of the custom keyboards are now largely obsolete. It also renders the hardware keyboard less useful than before, although it's still useful (I'm using the hardware keyboard right now) for longer messages.

[Question] Size of Gingerbread keyboard on the Galaxy Tab

I've noticed that when I apply the Gingerbread keyboard to the Galaxy Tab it isn't quite laid out correctly....seems to be half the size that it should be. Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks
Keyboard
Ironically i love the size of the keyboard, its so accurate and takes up hardly any screen
I agree with dave. But can you attach a screenie for comparison?
Yes I would love to see a screenie before I install it as well.

Wow! I'm going to assume that the photo you have there is a completely different apk ...any chance of you sharing that apk? Would be much appreciated. I love the Gingerbread keyboard I just don't like it so small.
Perhaps you still have the older version installed. I can't really say, if it has been the update of the apk or my update yo jm6 has caused this to work in the correct size. Have you installed the updated file from here?
Yea that new apk made the difference, thanks man.

Hi,
I've tried to enable haptic feedback but it doesn't seem to work on my Tab, while it works on my HD2 with the same apk (r12)...
Which version are you using?

[WIDGET][2.3+]MemWidget2

It's just a simple widget that plots memory usage over time.(useful for multitasking) Surprisingly, I don't think there is anything else out there that does this.

[APP] website launcher

Hey everyone,
I have made a small app to launch websites for you, its very basic.
Will post this onto DevDB later on
It will launch most of the websites that people use the most commonly
I hope all of you like it
Update time!
Changelog:
Made a toast appear at the start of the app
Made the app have the ability to search any URL you want!
Added XDA onto the app
A little housekeeping
Sooo...., why? I mean it works but just why not fire up chrome or whatever browser you use and open the website directly? Having an app that starts the browser and opens the site seems bit overkill for me
