Good day to you guys,
I have an HTC HD7 running Mango.
I just switched carriers recently, and noticed that my new carrier appears as 42604 on my phone. This actually made me scratch my head.
When I checked the issue, it appears that Windows Phone takes the carrier broadcast name, rather than obtaining it through the SIM card.
And in order to verify that this is an OS specific bug, I put my SIM card in my HTC Touch Cruise runnnig WM6.5, and the carrier name appeared correctly (Resolved through the SIM card I guess)
I'm not sure if this is a known bug or has been discussed. But couldn't find an answer to this question anywhere.
Regards,
Xeno

my old friend the tornado is to be replaced by a kaiser. a year ago i did all the unlock and supercid procedures and worked with several rom versions and tried also another network - my tornado was a vodafone vda II once. i've been very happy with it, but i like to have those additional features of a wm professional device.
unfortunately i experianced a problem - the new sim card from hutchinson is not accepted by my dear old device. the error message is: "The SIM card is missing or is not valid. You can still make emergency calls if your service provider supports it."
i checked with spv-Services and this reports the phone unlocked. well - and my wife is waiting for the phone - i'm sure most of you know how demanding girls can get when it comes to a new cell phone.
so please, if anyone experianced this issue and is able to provide a solution - it would be great!!!
thanx!

flame99,
Just go to your service provider office and ask to change your SIM card for old type. There was a same problem with my HTC StarTrek and Beeline service provider.
HI All;
I am facing unique problem
Here is description-
I am from India and using 'Idea' as a network provider.
My cell phone is HTC touch.
Today for some time I switched off my cell phone for couple of hours , and switched it ON for a use. But since I switched it ON i am getting following Status on status bar
'phone off'
'Searching'
'Idea'
and then again
'phone off'
'Searching'
'Idea'
It keeps on happeneing
I did follwowing things
1) Soft Reset my device
2) Hard reset my device
but nothing seems to solve the problem.
Then I removed my SIM card and put it in Nokia device . While switching ON it dispalyed me a message 'SIM ERROR' . But I was able to make a call and receive messages.
Also I put another SIM card in HTC Touch and phone worked perfectly fine.(I was able to make a call and receive messages.)
But when I put my orginal SIM card in my HTC Touch again above mentioned problem start occuring.
Can any body guide me on this..
Thanks in advance
have u tried contacting ur service provider? they can tell u if theres any prob in area, refresh the network sim, check status of sim and poss replace sim.?
yip, im with Davey on that one, sounds like a faulty SIM card, happens rarely but does happen. Get a new one from your provider.
Something that's been bugging me for a while:
I have an unlocked Touch Diamond -- I once used another operator's SIM card while my number was being ported. Ever since, even after hard-resets, MTTY and many different ROMs and radios, Connection Setup has offered me two setup options: one for my network (Orange UK) and the other for the network I once used (Blyk).
So, even though I haven't used the Blyk SIM in months, I am still being offered connection settings for it automatically and the network doesn't exist anymore!
Does anyone know where this history of networks/APNs is stored and if there is a way to clear them? The only real solution as far as I can see is that they're stored on my Orange SIM, but I can't work out why it would store the Blyk settings...
Thanks.
I'm working on a project for work, one of the stipulations is being able to lock a single SIM card to a device - ie; if the phone is started up without the SIM it was provided with, it will refuse to start up unless the correct security (not SIM) code is entered, or the correct sim is put back in the phone.
We are currently doing this with nokia handsets with great success, but we're also looking for more customisable phones.
Soooo.... Is this possible with android? All i've found on my handset is weather or not my phone prompts me for the SIM PIN.
The reason for this is a large number of handsets we're being "lost" and we were a little suspect of how often some employees were "losing" their phones. After we started locking phones to SIMs, far (far far far) less devices were being lost...
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'll gladly give you an internet high-five!
Dear all,
I'm using a German TwinBill SIM card from T-Mobile provider.
It means, you have 2 numbers (with 2 bills) supported within 1 SIM card.
Right now I have HTC Wildfire Phone with Froyo (2.2.1) installed.
This phone / Android version supports my TwinBill.
Now I like to have a newer phone, so I tested my SIM with a HTC Desire S and with a HTC Sensation (both Gingerbread 2.3.3), both will not work with the TwinBill.
After switching on the mobile appears a PIN Input Screen,
after submitting the correct PIN it appears a "PIN is unlocking" message box.
This message box takes around 3 minutes, after this time out only a message "No SIM inserted" is visible and the phone doesn't work.
Hopefully you have an idea if it is generally possible to use an Android with a TwinBill SIM.
Thanks in advanced

I've some news here.
The used SIM is a N6 the latest from T-Mobile
With Wildfire Gingerbread 2.3.4 it works
With Wildfire Froyo 2.2.1 it works
also with a Samsung galaxy s1 Gingerbread 2.3.3 it works
With these results, I guess it's a hardware related issue of the HTC devices
deactivating SIM code by an other phone solves the issue - for sure a workaround
(HTC provides me this information)
