Hey everybody, I'm trying to get my comp to recognize my phone. It had worked before. I'm currently on miui 1.10.7 and just updated kies. Still says can not find drivers. This wasn't an issue with previous roms. Is this an miui bug? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: well I uninstalled kies and it connects now. Interesting but glad it works. Never used kies anyways.

Hi,
I installed CyanogenMod 7 on my Samsung Captivate a few days ago. But since TV out did not work, I decided to roll-back to stock using the method defined here: youtube DOT com/watch?v=UDtxnH4lFuk.
I used ODIN 1 Click Captivate 2.1 Stock JF6 Firmware to roll-back to 2.1 (URL: mobiletechvideos DOT com/blog/?page_id=186)
But ODIN stopped at factoryfs.rfs.... I also tried some other ROMS using ODIN like Darky's, but nothing worked. Another important thing is that my Windows 7 64bit does not recognize the samsung captivate any more. I tried Vista and XP as well, but nothing works. Sometimes it picks the driver sometimes it doesn't. I also installed Nexus S driver but ODIN does not recognize the phone when Nexus S driver is installed.
The phone goes into download mode, and that's it!!! It does not turn on at all. Since I have two samsung captivate phones, I always use completely charged battery but the phone is not starting at all. Any help will be highly appreciated.

1) I am using completely charged battery.

3) I have tried it on a laptop and a desktop, but no success.
I had the same problem. I ended up sending mine to an xda member to have it repaired.
Before going there try going to ponack.net and look for the returning to stock post and download the odin to stock version there and see if that works. If you get that to work then look for super one click root in the captivate forums on xda.
These are the steps I followed the 2nd time I decided to flash stock from cm7. I know, didn't learn my lesson the 1st time.
If this doesn't work then get in touch with connexion2005 here on xda or at mobiletechreviews.com his name is Josh. He is a great guy and does great fast work. He will be able to fix it for you. Its not free but well worth it, much better than buying a new phone.

Also, try a different port and another cable to see if that helps.
Forgot, next time post in the captivate q/a section. You will get more support that way. I dont think the devs look in this section very often.

HELP. I have been trying to use GTG's ultimate unbrick and retun to stock for 4 days now. I got phone second hand and thought i was getting stock but rooted then found out he actually deleted preinstalled apps!!! I purchased this phone to get the OTA GB upgrade and can't until returned to stock. I installed the samsung drivers got confirmation from my computer , got to putting phone in download mode..which it does but ODIN will not recognize device so nothing shows in COM. I went through the steps anyway...nothing!! debugging on, debugging off, antivirus on, off.. I don't understand. computer..XP said drivers installed. won't work in DL mode. I try to install drivers again PC says already installed. I went to a friends with a brand new pc with win 7. "found new hardware, installing drivers. same thing...NOT RECOGNOIZED ....I ran into this very issue when trying to upgrade my captivate...get into DL then NOTHING. i AM FAIRLY NEW AT THIS BUT NOT STUPID. i read others that have same issue but i find no fixes.

Try different version of Odin,try different USB port,run Odin as admin,use a different USB cord.
Have you tried all of these?

I had this problem today on one of our work computers.
First i deleted the samsung drivers from the pc...then installed these drivers

I am using Odin from the unbrick app. Don't really know how to use a different version. Using the OEM USB cord. Funny thing when i go to control panel to uninstall previous drivers...they aren't in the list but when i search I find all kinds. When i try to install new ones it says they are already there and to uninstall first. Anyone know if when i do the search and they come up can I delete from there??

Nope. I give. Just bout ready to throw phone and computer down the street. Just tried those other drivers. Computer recognizes phone in other modes...so does Odin but that doesn't matter if it won't in download mode!! !.

Try Heimdall. Odin stopped working for me also and once I started using heimdall it's great and faster than odin

Heimdall under Linux works great for me - no clue how well it works in Windows.
It seems like Odin is pretty screwy and requires all sorts of settings Heimdall doesn't.

I'm using heimdall on windows xp and it's fast! Odin was choppy and next to never recognized my phone

Also what windows are you using? I have XP and only the files for heimdall I have are for XP.
Are you still trying to get back to stock or unbrick?

So you were able to get back to stock? Have you had titanium backup? Best way to save and restore apps.
I'll try to get something to you for Heimdall if you Havnt found it in the morning

Just a restore will not work. Previous owner DELETED preinatalled apps....that's why I am needing gtg's method. At least I think that is what i need to reinstall those and start fresh.

Hey all. Ive been trying to root my samsung infuse for the past several hours with no success. I followed this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-02NrvxDZYA&feature=channel_video_title. When I run superoneclick i receive the waiting for device message at step #7.
So because SuperOneClick did not work i tried other methods. I tried this root method from DooMLoRD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653

I copied the console text. Maybe it can help solve the problem. I've been looking to find a solution but have not found a fix, so I do apologize if its out there. Can you guys please offer some help. thank you
If you're running stock Froyo, SuperOneClick 1.9.1 will root it. Just make sure that you check the Debug mode box first.

I don't remember, since I haven't done this in a long while, but I believe you need to have the drivers installed first. Download samsung Kies. Then try it again.

I F****** up..
i played with rooting and flashing before i found these forums with guides and stuff.
and now my samsung galaxy have no mobile network, no imei number and freezes when i activate bluetooth..
it was also bricked (logo loop) but i fixed that.
i have flashed stock firmware in it and it works fine beside the 3 problems above.

Oops, I didn't realize he was using a S3.
Which S3 are you using? If so then find the right forum for that phone for that carrier.
Start by finding the right forum for your phone. If you have theS3 go there not here.

Hi. I recieved a Nexus Phone as gift but i have some problems. I tryed to connect it to laptop but it say's the usb is not recognized. I read the other sugestions on the forum, i tryed them but nothing works. I instaled SDK Manager (no result), i tryed with One Click Stock (no result), USB driver for windows (no result). Everything i tryed acts like the phone is not there. I have windows 7 32 bits. The thing that made me even more confused it's that on the usb port in the device manager appears as Htcclay's and not as Nexus S. I will post a picture of the ''About phon'' with model number and everything maybe someone can help. Thank you and sorry for my english is not my primary language.

I'm on xda nexus s forums since april so I don't even recognize this rom you're using why don't you change your rom and see if the problem still exists. I guess it would all go away but I may be wrong

Could be something wrong with ROM. Never heard about this rom. Try to flash a jb ROM and see.

Thank you both for reading my post. Untill yesterday i never knew there are ROM's on the phone. This is how i got the phone seald and this is how it looks if i go to factory settings. I will look for threads where on how to change a ROM and what room is the better one and i will let u know if it works or not. THANK YOU AGAIN VERY MUCH.
