I read a few tutorials about rooting phones, but i could not find one for my model Huawei U8500.
What do you think about SuperOneClick? Where i can find opensource application for rooting, or be sure of what work that applications, what you use and what is my best solution?
Of course, first i want to make backup of my phone, so that at any moment can turn back the old system with old android, applications, files etc...
Thanks

Hi,
I have searched in the forums but i couldnt find any solution to my problem.
My phone is a LG Optimus 7 unbranded on mango.
I want to backup my phone, update it to the latest rom with tethering enabled and after that i want to restore from backup.
How can i do that?
Thanks in advance!
There is no tool that can do that right now. The backup only happens when a new updates come in and Zune does that. It cannot be done manually.
Thanks for the fast answer!
So do i have to wait for the tethering update to appear in Zune or do i have to flash another firmware?

Only Zune will be able to do it. So I guess unless they do you have no choice. And No Firmware can enable it.
wpxbox is actually incorrect, there is a tool to create an image-based backup (like Zune does when updating) on demand. Search the Development and Hacking sub-forum, and you can find it. Note that it requires a program, updatewp.exe, that was once distributed by Microsoft and no longer is, so you'll need to find a copy of it (and the version for that copy must exactly match your Zune version).
However, what you're asking for isn't actually useful anyhow, unless you want to install the update and then immediately remove it. A WP7 backup is really more properly called a restore point - it's a full image of the phone's entire storage, including the parts that are normally read-only (the ROM). Restoring that image overwrites everything, including the ROM. Updates are modifications to the ROM, and restoring a backup will therefore remove the update.
That cleared the things... Thanks.
Thanks for correcting me. Apprciate that.
Yes there is a tool which you can find here but to make it work you need to use Old version of Zune and replace couple of DLL.
I personally have tried it but for some reason it did not work for and hence I was not recommending it. But thats me.
Go ahead and give it a shot to see if it works for you. If yes let me know how you did.

Thanks for providing the direct link. I was able to get it working, although it took a lot of work to find matching versions of the tool installer (v1, not v2) and Zune software. It's possible, though. Take a look at the Backup header in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963. It has instructions and links that you may be able to use to make the tool work.
Hi,
I finally poured in one complete day figuring out what was in that thread and made it work. I have written my version of making it work here
And Have also created a Video Demo as a Proof that How I made it work. Any feedback is appreciated.
The video is like 11:28 Minutes long. Where I have :
First showed what is my phone
Then created a Backup
Showed where the backup is actually stored i.e. Zune Default restore point
Reset my Phone
Used the Backup to bring it normal state.
Hello everyone, this will be my first question/post since i just started using an android phone, my first andoid device is Blu studios 6.0 LTE
I am trying to get into the field of basic cellphone troubleshooting and understanding, i have a good understanding on ios, now it androids turn,
anyways i am planing to root my phone, but i wanted to know if i am able to create a back up rom non rooted, (hope that made sense lol)
i searched everywhere and only getting results leading to use titanium backup (which requires root) and clockwork recovery, which i also think requires root
there are some methods to create backup without root, but i don't think my phone is supported (only MTK?)
so i came to the conclusion that there are no methods to creating a back up stock rom of my blu studio? yet?
should i just go for it and root without making a backup?
or am i just understanding it differently, cuz i am thinking if you create a backup rom when you are rooted, you will have a rooted stock rom right?
instead of a rom that will have the fresh os from a factory phone.
is it important to have the clean rom? or it really doesn't matter if its a rooted rom?
also i have not installed driver for my blu studios yet, can anyone link me a good site to download the drivers? i went on my phone's company page, but no drivers.
google searched and the top 2 sites looked really fishy, they all had the same file for all model phone. rest of the search is just people also asking for drivers. . .
i am planing to use the swapper app to increase my phone's ram, its really laggy since it only has a gig of ram >_< other than that no other reason to root xD
A note to the moderators: i am really sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, i didn't know where else i could post this question.
Thank you for reading!
first you should write this thread on the Q&A....there is a way to root mtk devices using framaroot which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276 ....if your phone is not a ubifs type system you can easy create a cwm for it then create a nandroid backup.....
hit thanks button if this helps you
Sorry still new to the scene, can you do a quick explanation on what mtk devices are? and ubifs?
i have the Blu studios 6.0 LTE phone
Edit: was checking what mtk devices are, so its model of the cpu? i used cpu-z to check and it say my model is MSM8926
"The models for MTK devices always start with Mt prefix, while that of Spreadtrum often start with SPD or SC." -copy pasted from an article
so i guess it's not an mtk device after all, does this limit my options?

hi guys,
first, i m all time thankful to these developer guys, you make mobile world so genius, yeah it was never genius,
second, something i learn and something i want to learn more is about android always, but here is my question below that is really important. i don't know if it really make sense or not but i would like to know your opinion.
question :- i see there is a way to push files into device without rooting it. is it secure? it is safe? i guess yes. than how can i push titanium backup(data only) of particular app into my device?
example : - i myself after learning lot about apk tool and all that, modded "whatsapp" successfully and which is out of this world according to me, lately i cam to know there is already one called whatsapp GB, but mine is mine. (right now i don't have rooted device so couldn't send screenshot), but what i am trying to figure out is, i can install my modded apk on my non-rooted device and can run it either, problem comes when it is about registering number, what i really thought that if i can push titanium backup of my modded whatsapp.apk (data only - taken perviously when i had rooted device) to this non rooted device via ADB, than i didn't need to root my device ever, and so for any other app that is modded by me or any developers can be executed on non rooted device.
pros - if this is possible than i guess People won't need to root device, will not loose warranties, will not loose device by bricking it, will get out of a procedure of root methods, no one will ask more about root method, soft brick, hard brick, boot loader issues and many more questions like that i guess.
there will left only one tutorial than if this is possible and it will be like this - how to use adb?(step by step : beginner to black hat).
if this is possible than what we need? proper method of how to use adb, most of people easily can learn how to use adb but most of tutorial misses some points like how to push file by changing r/w permission, and where to put new data backup or files in device like some tutorial i have seen gives only command line but people actually don't know where to put the file like /data/data and than what?
Developers and Rooted device owner will become God in fact in this case because they can lead the rest in right path.
is this possible? or am i ridiculously making no sense?

Hey All,
For our university we have a number of Mobile Devices that are used by staff and students for user research, data collection, that sort of stuff.
Usually all of the devices are send out for a single project, which means all of them should behave the same.
For a while we have been manually resetting all phones by hand (a pretty time consuming tasks).
I was hoping that anyone knows of a method to properly either Fully Back-Up & Replace or otherwise Duplicate a phone to multiple other devices (we have 10 at the moment).
I am not talking about a simple "These are the apps you installed list" or "These are the general phone system settings" option. I am talking about a full-exact copy, including the apps we develop for data-tracking within the university.
I am aware that we might be forced to Root the devices, this is probably not an issue.
All devices are Motorola Moto e5 phones with android 8.0.0
Thank you in advance for your help, even if it a non-optimal solution, or a straight up "No, Not Possible!", any help is appreciated.

If the devices are all exactly the same model number, you don't necessarily have to root the devices, you could achieve your goal just by installing TWRP custom recovery on all devices in question then use TWRP to create a nandroid backup then pull a copy of the nandroid, then use the restore feature in TWRP to restore that copy of the nandroid on each device. Kinda the same as cloning a drive on PC then applying that clone to multiple systems. The devices must have the same model number, the nandroid can't be used on devices that are a different model number, that is a potential brick waiting to happen.
Or, if the devices are different, you'll need to root all of the devices then use Titanium Backup to backup all of the user installed data, then use Titanium Backup to restore that backup on all of the devices, this only works for user data if the devices are different, you can't just backup or restore any system apps or data if the devices are different models, different devices can't use the same system related stuff due to partitioning and hardware differences. If the devices are all the same, you could also include system apps and data in the backup created via Titanium Backup, including system in the backup only works if the devices are the exact same.
You could also use Titanium Backup to create a zip file of all the data that you want then that zip file can be flashed via TWRP using the "install" feature in TWRP or it can be restored via Titanum Backup.

Hello,
How to do backup of the entire phone? I mean entire system with data like passwords, apps etc?
What I wants to achieve something similar to VirtualBox on PC like Snapshot so I install basic version of android system with all aplication I need then I do my job and when something goes wrong I can go back to version I have saved/copied
You must have root access in android, or through TWRP. You didn't write the name of the device.
I have Huawei P20pro but soon I can buy new phone that will be easy to implement such solution
