Phone Force Close - Motorola Milestone Android Development

What's wrong with my Droid? I get this when its not in airplane mode. Sorry! The process com.android.phone had stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I press force close and it pops back up. I can't get on wifi or anything cuz of it. I am running 2.3.4 Liquid Rom Overclocked at 1.1GHz ... It's not activated but I use it as mp3 and games but I can't because this pops up...I can't use wifi because it must be in airplane mode...any ideas?

This is Milestone thread, it's not the droid you are looking for.

this is the milestone thread, but you might want to try flashing a nandroid backup and going on from there. or wipe all data + caches and apply a new rom (this is how it works for milestone, not sure for droid. you would get more accurate answers if you posted in the droid section as opposed to the milestone android development - e.g. post in droid and milestone general)

Sorry! I thought they were same phone!

froyo incredible?

can u put froyo on the incredible...and if so, should you? please excuse my newbiness
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes, I'm a noob too, should we do it?
We lose the ability to get OTAs, right?
Do upgrades come to xda almost as fast as they come from Google?
Help a couple noobs, by the way my Incredible just tried to change "noobs" to "boobs", ha!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Froyo is in the works, I believe a couple members are working on porting CyanogenMod6 to the incredible.
In the meantime DO NOT try to flash the Nexus One Froyo as it will most likely brick your phone. Look around the Incredible Threads for more info.
thanks...not gonna try until I'm fairly sure I won't brick it! getting root access was enough of a heart attack for a while I shall explore incredible forums.

harrison, pretty sure noobs & boobs are fairly synonymous anyway lol

on market, download rom manager, give it superuser.
in rom manager, install clockwork mod recovery.
on market, download SMS BACKUP & RESTORE
backup your txt messages
turn off your phone
volumedown+power... wait... recovery
now your in clockworkmod (might have to hit powerbutton once)
[use optical button to scroll up and down, and push for select. power button is now back button instead of select. go back to far, it will turn screen blank, in which case u just hit power again to go to main menu]
select nandroid
do a backup.
there now all your SH*t is backed up.. u can stop bein a little Biatch (jk) and start loading SkyRaider or CM6 Froyo.
the backup is in Esdcard)\clockworkmod\backup\20100721-xxxxx\
but nandroid will find it next time you run it and click restore.
you can also take a nandroid backup of your FroYo skyraider/froyo CM6 to save those and load up other Roms.
Got it?

[ROM][EC01] Evil Fascinate ver. 3.1 and 3.3 Fixed for Mesmerize

I made the edits for this to use on EC01 mesmerize.
Per the norm, I am not responsible if you jack your phone up trying to use this. I have done nothing to this other then edit it per dfgas's instructions to use on my Mez.
Original Thread here.
Read the original thread for any problems you have. I am not a dev, so you will not get a helpful answer from me.
All credit goes to nitroglycerine33 and the others that did all the work on it.
Download fixed 3.1 ROM here
another update was made this afternoon. I will try to have it fixed and posted tonight.
Download Fixed 3.3 Rom here
***Do not Theme this ROM. Works good the way it is. I themed it and ended up having to re-flash it.
thanks will give a try
So I need to flash ec01 radio first?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Yes ec01 radio first.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Still didn't work for me
You also need an EC10 source Kernel
sent from my SFC+FIX, EC01, voodoo enabled, Samsung Mesminate.
OK... So, let me get this straight... This is what I need to do to flash this:
1. Disable Voodoo
2. Flash the stock Mesmerize EC10 image
3. Flash the EC01 radio using Odin (Flash it to where? PDA? Phone?)
4. Flash the Evil 3.3 rom
I feel like there's something missing here, or is there a kernel built-in?
Flash the radio to pda in ODIN.

Couldnt get this to boot without major fc odin back to stock then nandroid o well thanks

Go to settings>applications. Choose app that is FC, and clear data. Email and keyboard need to have this done or they willcontinuously force close.
The original thread explains this. Also there is another update out. I'm probably not going to be able to fix it till next weekend. If anyone wants it let me know and I will try to do it sooner.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'm the same tried 2 different ones and all I get is first time it attemps to boot up with losts of fc's the goes into a boot loop.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Go to > settings> applications > manage applications. Select all apps tab. Find app that is force closing. Select it and then clear data. One this is done it should stop force closing. Email and keyboard did it to me. Cleared data and no more problems.

I'm not being able to send MMS. Any fix?

I flashed this but I'm stuck in a boot loop and when I have gotten it to boot it constantly force closes different apps... Do I need to flash a kernel or is one included? I think that's where I'm stuck.

You need to wipe data before flashing. Backup your apps first tho what kernel are you using?

I got it working eventually. Forgot to install a kernel lol

All I did was flash ComRom first and then flashed Evil on top of it... It was easier for me.

Phone keeps asking me to update and I don't want to.

Is there any way we can stop the Update PopUp? It keeps popping up every few hours and starting to bug me. I'm on Supercharged v4 and am not interested in anything but v5 or future custom roms.
Just curious.
Same here. I would like to get rid of it too!
Search the market for fota kill.
Edit: scratch the market.looks like that app isn't available anymore.
Try freezing BlurUpdater.apk (updater) then reboot.
I froze 2 apps to get rid of the notification. 2.3.5 updater and upgrader 1.0.0 its one of those anyways. No more notifications here.

i did a restore from a previous backup i did in CWM and that worked. maybe that will work for you guys as well.

[Q] MIUI 1.12.9 FC'ing on Evo 4g

Hey guys, so I got sick of my SwaggedOutStock ROM, and decided to flash to MIUI. I originally flashed 1.12.30, and had problems with apps force closing. I decided, without making any changes, to flash to 1.12.9 after some research.
Now that I've flashed to 1.12.9, I keep getting the error "The process android.process.acore hasw stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" once every 15-20 seconds. I've tried re-downloading and reflashing both. I've even tried uploading AmonRa 3.11 to boot into recovery and wipe the phone, but I can't get THAT to work!
My last resort was to try the RUU method, and I keep getting error 171, USB disconnected.
Anyone have any advice on un-bricking this phone?
Have you tried running Fix_Permissions? That sometimes fixes strange FC issues.
I had Miui, now I have cyanogen. When I first flashes miui, it forceclosed a lot, but with a different message. Did you do a full wipe? If so, try going to your manage applications and clearing cache and data in contacts and there's a Google media one too. this worked for me.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
As for unbricking, do you have a backup of your previous rom? If so try resorting back to that one... Also, the other poster was right, try fixing permissions. I use roms manager to do this

If in not mistaken, 1.12.2 was the last stable build for MIUI.

ViperOneS

Apparently I haven't posted enough to post in the ViperOneS thread. So I will try finding an answer here.
I flashed the OTA update and went from 2.1 to 2.2. Love the ROM! But it seemed very laggy, so I reverted back to 2.1 via a TWRP backup.
Is there a way to turn off the system update notification since I plan on staying with 2.1? I tried going to settings/applications/updater and unchecking notifications, but it's grayed out.
Thanks for the help.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
yes, you can, in the setting, go to about, software update, uncheck scheduled check. This should prevent it from checking the update
Sorry, I failed to mention that I did that also and rebooted the phone. It's gone for 30 seconds after reboot, but reappears after that.

Should be in q&a...and I know ur new but u can still search. If u search the thread u will see that u can fix ur lag by reapplying the skin as well as clearing data in the venom tweaks app and the other one. As for disabling the update part I have no idea. Maybe disable notifications for the app that does it.
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
Solution found: after "unchecking" the check for updates, settings/applications(all)/updater and then "clear data"
It all seems so obvious, now that I've figured it out.
