First of all,i am really happy to announce (for those who came across with my desperate threads trying to solve my battery drain over 3G network issue) that flashing XXJPU Rom + Removing the partitions (swap + external extra storage) of my SD Card solved my problem. Battery is not draining anymore, and everything is working just fine with the stock rom.
The question is : Can i partition my SD Card again (to add internal storage, since i´ve came across the damn "Internal Storage is Nearly Full" message) ?
If yes, will i have to reflash the rom or , do anything else then just creating the partition using the Minitool software ?
Thanks in advance, and thanks again for those who tried to help me !
No need to make a new partition, extend the current one by minitool/gparted
I have o only one big partition used to store normal content. I need to make a new one to use as a extra internal storage space.. So i do need to partition it, all i need to know is if it will work and if i will have to do something else after partitioning it

If you create a partition on your SD Card as EXT2 ( i guess its EXT2 ) ,your OS will use it as internal storage.
Doing this, will solve the low internal storage issue.
I Just dont know if it works on stock roms,it does work on Kyrillos, inDroid, Sumee etc.
@OP i though u already had one partition when you said partition again
if your sd is as it is(just one partition)
then do this
flash g3mod
reboot into recovery
and partition
its the fastest way to get a partitio
then you can use an app2sd/data2sd script (system/etc/init.d)
Or if you have a card reader
use minitool/gparted to partition
shrink the existing one and make a new partiton(ext4)
and yea backup ur data, just in case!

Thanks for the reply : )
I will use minitool since i know how to use it.
After creating a EXT4 Partition, what will i need to actually tell my OS to use it as internal storage ?
Will i need to reflash rom ? Run any script (like Data2SD) ?
Also, is the Kernel or the Rom that actually recognizes the partitions and use them ?
EDIT : Hey @cdesai i just partitioned my SD using minitool creating a EXT2 Partition for internal storage upgrade.
Following again,this tutorial here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
Titaniun backup is not recognizing the extra space, what do i have to do now ?

Hmm.
ext4 would be a bit better but ext2 is also ok
now keep an a2sd script in /system/etc/init.d
there is a thread in dev section by kyrillos with the script and instructions, use it
or flash a custom rom which already has it
and yes you need a kernel with init.d support, but every custom kernel has that feature(cf-root,fugumod,g3mod,simplicity,etc.)

use your sd card for more space
zerofill tar sounds to me like:
writing lots of "0" to the internal sd?
-> equal to a format of /system?
-> system is gone, mobile doesnt boot
-> all data lost?
Checked the features of kyorarom and what do I see...
Hybrid Data2SD and SD card swap
Why dont you use that feature?
Ah... I see... you didnt create an ext4 partition?
Thsi partition is needed for the feature above!
how to:
Create an ext4 partition via CWM
using this feature will move all user apps to sd card
have a fast card on your side and make a backup of your sd card data
-> all data will be lost on sd card when you repartition your card!!!!!
I think u r facing 0.0kb internal memory bug... if so flash with data.rfs
If not, go to recovery, wipe dalvik cache... format sd ext.. mount data... and mount sd ext

oh... a second please...
I remember something right now...
In my very early days (ECLAIR flashing) I remember that someone had also space 0.0 MB
And afaik the solution was to flash the CSC file (?) or something like that again...
That was the reason in these days why I flashed all (!) firmware versions from
xxjg7 to xxjk1
well... in froyo days...
I know that this posting is not very helpful, but you might find something similar with these hints in the net...
Hope this helps forward
Flashing zero fill should solve to 0.0kb problem, it formats everything on your phone, then flash a rom over it. If doesn't work, backup your SD card and format your sd ext and your whole SD card.

How to expand the low internal memory without changing the default rom?
I'd like to keep the default rom, but would like to use the sd card as much as possible. Embedded move2sd app doesn't move sufficient apps. Also it's very good if we can move other things (Like messages or even partitions) to sd too.
I just checked http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924054 , but what if I root my device?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932874
Use m2sd script ! Its very good ! But first u have to partition your sd card and make a ext partition either by recovery or minitool(windows). Also ext partition is not supported by stock rom/kernel so its better if u flash any custom rom/kernel.

As I like to keep the stock rom/kernel and it doesn't support ext as you said, Could you suggest other options?
If u wanna keep your stock rom/kernel the best method is by partitioning sd card to a secondary fat32 partition.....then use link2sd( its free download from playstore)
Press thanks if i helped
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
link2sd will link your apps to sd, but if I remember correctly, it won't link your dalvik cache. And when you install a lot of apps, your dalvik cache would fill the entire internal memory, resulting in the low space error again.
If you really want to go with the stock kernel, you can get the kernel source from HTCDev, do the necessary work on it to get init.d working with sysinit exec method, compile the kernel, flash it, partition your sd with ext2/3/4 and then use mounts2sd to reverse mount /data/ to /sd-ext/, practically turning your ext partition to your internal memory.
I just created a 2nd partition on my 8GB SD card so that i could move apps to it using link2sd...but when i open link2sd and select the file system of my SD card's 2nd partition (ext4) i get an error:
Mount script cannot be created.
mount: No such device.
ext4 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition.

If you are on Stock then maybe FAT32 partition may have worked.. or even otherwise maybe it will work,.. haven't used a FAT32 sd partition since JaggyROM 2.x.x ( obviously my 1st partition is fat32 ) ... My second partition is an ext and it is advisable to have an ext partition cause there are many scripts like int2ext , s2e, etc which work well with an ext partition...
A partition is Not necessary to made in order for other ROMs to work.. They will work just as well without a partition .. only thing is your internal memory will remain to be 150 mb.. Which is the memory allocated in our phone's nand..
NOTE: Sense 4.0a is the only ROM that you necessarily need to have an SD-EXT Partition of at least 1 GB. Otherwise it won't boot.
thanks for helping me..

do it through mini partition tool..delete the created partition..now right click on the 1st partition..slect extend..n drag the cursor till end...n click apply...done
Use Other Kernel
The reason for your second partition is not recognized is you may be at Stock Rom and Stock kernel....
Stock kernel do not support ext partitions...
Use ateeq kernel or cranium kernel for ext4 partition support....
Also use Mounts2sd instead of link2sd...!!!!

For this you don't need s-off (which anyway you can't do). Just use recovery (you already have that) and create partition. If you are using cwm, in advanced menu there is option 'repartition sd card', just follow the steps, and remember this will erase all your info from the sd, so it's better to back that up. Also you can create partition using pc with "mini tool partition wizard" google it. Another thing don't make ext partition bigger than 2GB and don't create swap partition.
That's it. Have fun
Edit: @Saumitra Yadav- damn you are fast , but what you explayned is........ why create another partition, sd card is already fat partitioned? (Maybe I'm wrong but I think link2sd also works with ext)
Edit2: Yes it needs second partition which can be fat32, but it also can be ext, so just make ext

There was very long time ago when my phone haded stock rom.
already tried creating it...get an error saying that mount script cannot be created.
link2sd faq quote :
Q. I get "Mount script cannot be created. cannot create /system/etc/install-recovery.sh: not enough memory" error.
Some HTC devices are "NAND locked". On "NAND locked" (or "S-ON") devices the /system partition is write-protected by the bootloader and thus cannot be modified even if you have root privileges.
In order to use Link2SD you need to do "S-OFF" to disable this NAND lock. (a.k.a. "NAND unlock" or "unlocking the bootloader")

I'm currently running bhundven's herring CM9 with no kernel modifications and CWM 6. I find that the internal storage for this phone is very low and only holds a small amount of applications, especially since many apps seem to not want to install at all (about 3/4 of the time I try to install things, I get either "Package invalid" or "Insufficient space available", which is extremely annoying and might be a separate problem).
Is there any way that I can get sd-ext to work on this phone with this setup? I'd rather not switch kernels (I'd love to get TWRP recovery but the flashable doesn't work for me and I don't want to switch kernels).

I haven't used it but this app should do the trick.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext
Let me know if it works.
I prefer Mounts2SD, which lets you completely configure things. I was running PACman with cache and dalvik offloaded which worked quite well. And free is a good price.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spazedog.mounts2sd
That seems like it just switches the internal and external storage, not making an ext partition on the SD card. But can things like this really be done through an app? I thought these things had to be done through init.d or build.prop scripts.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The app creates an init file. Or so it appears. Like I said I don't use it. It seems that raze does and I'd defer to him here. Either his app or the one I linked should work fine.
Thanks (given) to both of you. And any ideas on what else might be causing the invalid packages when downloading from the play store? It happens even though I have much more free app space than I would need (eg. I had 119 MB of free space and a 30 MB app download failed).
EDIT: Just tried using Mounts2SD, but it couldn't find the sd-ext partition. Do I need to create that manually, and how?

Another way is to create ext4 partition (about 1G is usually enough) on you SD card with free MiniTool Partition Wizard and then use Link2SD to link apps/dalvik to this partition. I've been using it like this for a long time and it works fine. There are plenty of guides on the Web how to do that.
I used CWM or TWRP to create the sd-ext partition. You need to create that first somehow... if MiniTool Partition Wizard will do it without wiping the sdcard, that's better than recovery though.
My method was boot to recovery, mount sdcard, copy everything to computer HD, unmount sdcard, partition sdcard with 2 GB sd-ext (because I wanted lots of space, but I'd probably cut it down to 1 GB next time), mount sdcard, copy everything back from computer HD, unmount sdcard, reboot to system. Then launch Mounts2SD, pick what format you want the sd-ext in (FAT or ext2 are the fastest, but you can take ext3 or ext4 if you're not going to just disable the safety features) and what stuff you want moved over.
Edit: Just found this link, which I haven't used but which explains how to do the sd-ext with MiniTool... apparently MiniTool DOES still wipe the partitions though, so you may as well just use CWM/TWRP and make your life easier.

I used CWM or TWRP to create the sd-ext partition. You need to create that first somehow... if MiniTool Partition Wizard will do it without wiping the sdcard, that's better than recovery though.

MiniTool will wipe the sd card to create the new partition as well. I wish there was a way to do it without wiping the card but there is not. So back that stuff up first.

I used GParted to partition my SD card. NO WIPING. Move, resize, add partitions.

Another way is to create ext4 partition (about 1G is usually enough) on you SD card with free MiniTool Partition Wizard and then use Link2SD to link apps/dalvik to this partition. I've been using it like this for a long time and it works fine. There are plenty of guides on the Web how to do that.

Yes, but our herring kernel does not support EXT4 partition, I tried it myself
and it didn't work. I had to create EXT3 which is supported by almost all kernels.
Eh, my results varied. Worked fine for me with ext4. And worked fine for my wife as well.

The OP says he's running CM9. That's what I'm running but I use Proton kernel as CM9 kernel has a video bug, and ext4 partition works just fine for me. Strange if Bryan really removed ext4 support, it's just a line in the config file.
Successfully made the partitions last night but my phone won't mount the SD card anymore. Was trying ext3, I'll try ext2 and ext4.
EDIT: Fixed the problem, changed my partition to ext2 and set both partitions to "Primary" (not sure which one did the trick).

Make sure that you make the first partition Primary/FAT32. This will be your normal SD card. Just take about 1GB of space from it at the end. Then make second partition Primary/ext4 with size to the end of the card. You can try ext2/3 but I don't think it is really necessary.
MiniTool will NOT wipe your partition if you do it right.
dsexton had a guide posted on how to do it.
Is it worth making a swap partition? If I remember correctly it significantly degrades the life of the SD card (and microSD's are delicate as it is), and I don't know if it would significantly increase performance.

I also created 128MB swap partition, not supported too and not mounted.
I tried to used swapper2 app from the market, but it says not supported by
kernel. Now I lost that space till I feel motivated to format or repartition the SD
card again.
I am using hefe kernel btw on AOKP milestone 6-5.
No swap.
