Wifi - Samsung Infuse 4G

Anybody have wifi problems after root. On stock rom just rooted. Im also unable to root. Says software version is below 2.0

Well it depends on the ROM and on the Modem...Since you are rooted and feel that your wifi is all of a sudden glitching...try a different modem or a different ROM.
For ROMs i recommend you jump straight to Gingerbread because froyo is very very old and almost nobody uses it anymore.
For Modems, i believe you should be on UCKE5 you can check in your settings/about phone/baseband version
I recommend you try UCKE3 or some Gingerbread modems.
As for installing ROMs/Modems, you need to have modded 3e recovery and ClockWorkMod installed. Im assuming you know how to do that and/or already have done that. If not PM me or ask here.
Find all ROMs and Modems here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293751
you can find almost every ROM and Modem or kernel or whatever that you desire.
EDIT: So you arent rooted yet and are asking IF there are problems? No. rooting does not effect any of that stuff. Only ROMs and Modems do.

Well I just did the root and didnt do any roms. Still stock but root. Just unrooted and seems better

[Q] Root not Flash

Has anyone figured out why the stock build of gingerbread can not be rooted without flashing a rom? Even though I have not flash a rom before, I just don't have a food grasp of tthe concept.
I preferred the superoneclick method, bit that still seems to be a bust on the G2X gingerbread stock build.
Any real answers?

T959VUKJ6 Official update

Starting November 15...
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1810
Is this the same KJ6 as leak used in Development section? So WiFi stays not on par as on KD1?
I hope not. At least they are releasing something official. Maybe in 89 days we can get source.

Kies mini show the availabile upgrade:
"T959VUVKJ6/T959VUVKJ6 11/11/15"
My upgrade went smoothly, and all the apps are still there but root is gone.

I guess before running official update with kies you have to disable/uninstall lagfix at minimum... This will convert file system back to rfs.
I went ahead and let mini kies do its thing.... yes, I odined the kj1 kernel right on top for the voodoo and it works.
sorry for the dumb question, but after upgrading to gb will super one click work to root, and can we just use odin to flash one of the existing custom gb roms without needing to root. im assuming this had the correct gb bootloaders we need. thanks for the help.

Official kies will take care about bootloader... regarding super one click - newest version has claims to be able to root Samsung gb.
or you can apply pre-rooted kernel as champ1919 did.

there wont be a 2.3.7 update. Only 1 device received 2.3.7 officially and that was the NS4G and that was to fix a WiMax issue.

It does for me, but I really did not test it extensively.

After following suggestion in GPS thread it works pretty good. I did not tested that much yet, but so far I can tell that it locks on 7+ satellites quicker than is KD1.

How to install CWM on stock kj6?

Does anyone know how to install CWM on stock kj6? I don't want to use the custom kernel. Tried copying the recovery and update.zip but no go. Getting the signature error. Not sure what to try next.

Don't think you can have clockwork mod without a modded kernel on gingerbread.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Krylons method was for froyo. Your gonna have to go with the modded kernel to get cwm.

It's not kj6.
Also, my last attempt to use one of these kernels wasn't very successful. Had a couple of little glitches here and there and it drove me nuts.
Now the phone works perfectly on a rooted stock kj6 with junk removed, so I don't feel like risking it, especially not having CWM to backup the stock config.
+1
I am also on stock Gingerbread, rooted, and happy with it. I'd like to install CWM *before* I start mucking about with my ROMs. ROM Manager claims to support it, but it didn't list my phone in its detected devices and then I saw here that one shouldn't use it anyway so I uninstalled it.
So what's the easiest/noobiest way to install CWM on my T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4g 2.3.6 rooted?
Heindall.... With the the kj6 kernel in the development forum.

How about you develop a new kernel? All we got is drhonks kj1 and bhundven kj6, both customs... Wait... How you plan to get cwm if you dont "custom" a kernel? Interesting, huh?
You don't need cwm to have an easy way of fixing roms if anything goes wrong, theres always odin and heimdall.

Man you're an arrogant dude. People ask for some help and you tell them to dev a new kernel! Put you're money where your mouth is.
As for the OP I think you get the idea. It's either custom or no go.

[q] gingerbread.uckl2

I am one of the few that have been able to upgrade to the Official GINGERBREAD.UCKL2, 2.3.6, Kernal 2.6.35.7-I997UCKL2-CL806505. But now i need a Root. Are there any options out there. I dont use it for roms i just like to be able to remove apps and other stuff that being rooted lets you do.
No, there isn't... you have to flash a rooted kernel, then you will lose video, or you could flash one of the custom uckl2 Tom's with everything working. The official update is crap anyway

Please help! Sph-d710bst need root support

I want to start by saying i am very new to rooting, kernels, roms etc. so if someone could help me with some detailed steps i would greatly appreciate it. I recently purchased my sph d710bst (i know is pretty old) and have it currently rooted with AGATS fi27 kernel v0.6.8. Everything works great but I'm getting a little tired of the ROM. I've tried flashing new kernels through odin (pc) so i can get CM, AOKP or really any new kernel and ROM lol. But i haven't been able to successfully flash anything. After the kernel flash and loading the ROM through recovery i always get (status 7). On top of all that, nothing seems to be compatible with my device as I've found after purchasing the pro versions of everything ( mobile Odin, ROM manager, etc). Again any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Im having the same problem, ive looked everwhere and can not find any roms or kernel for the SPH-d710bst epic 4g gs2. I have read that all kernels for the SPH-d710 should work how ever ive tryed a bunch and it bricks it. I did get a nightly cyanomod to work but it took a big of work and i didnt use a gapp so i didnt have the google stuff nor did i have data. I am waiting for a stable one to come out and ill use that, the gapp and jp's modems and it will work. You can try that with the nightly cyanomod, but make sure u get the gapp and jp modems for data, also u must have bussybox and it says cmm but agat worked for the flash then after the flash do a factorywipe wipchetch and dev and then reflash cmod then gapp the modem then boom u should be good. Ps if phone gets bricked just use jp's stock one click "wit data".Psps: If anyone has any other known mods kernel or roms please list them for us.
