I accidentally merged my Google account emails onto my HTC G2, and I would like to delete the emails from my phone contacts without removing them from my actual Google email account...
Any help?

So I no longer have access to my Gmail account (long story, turns out I'm a complete plonker), that and my phone are the only places I have my contacts stored. Is there a way I can pull them from the phone?
Create a new gmail account, and sync that with the phone.
wont it replace the contacts on the phone with those on the new gmail account (deleting them)? I guess I can always do a nandroid and give it a try
I am not sure if it will work but copy contacts to the phone then register another gmail account and move them to gmail?
Its very hard to tell how the appear and changes will react to you trying to move the contacts which are kinda google contacts but are on your phone temporary.

I have a HTC Desire sync with Exchange 2003 sp2.
My first problem: it don't sync all contacts. (only about 3040, missing ~80)
The second: sometimes when creating a new contact with the phone it make a new contact fine but overwrites an old ones name phone number and email with the new contacts data.
How can i fix this?
Try making a new account or edit the contact in gmail manually.
Need some help exporting my contact either to my Gmail account, or locally on my computer. I've got about 100 contacts that I made from my phone, all linked to Facebook, but I've just taken delivery of a nice shiny HD2, and want to be able to switch the SIM between them, with each syncing contacts to my Gmail, and thus to the phones.
I've ticked for my Omnia 7 to sync the contact to my Gmail but it's not working, so I'm not sure what else to do, also tried it with another Live account which isn't working either, any tips?
Cheers
Trying to migrate from Diamond to Sensation... Here is the funny problem.
While importing contacts from Diamond, I got a contact we shell call FRIEND. I earlier synced Diamond with GMAIL, and migrated contacts on my other phone, Desire. So to start, I have a FRIEND contact with a mobile phone number XXXXX, the same number is on GMAIL and on Desire. Ok.
On the Sensation I add another mobile phone for FRIEND contact, say YYYYY, and I also delete XXXXX. I sync it with GMAIL. Now on GMAIL I have the contact with no phones (XXXXX deleted, YYYYY wasn't added) and on Desire I still have number XXXXX. Now I force sync on the Desire. It keeps XXXXX number. So now I have:
On Sensation number YYYYYY
On Desire number XXXXX
On GMAIL no number
And all that is called "synced".
What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much.
how did you sync diamond with gmail?!?!? its not android, diamond is windows mobile, so it may not sync contacts or sync them properly?

When turning on Sensation for the first time, it asked me if I want to import contacts from other phone. I said yes. What phone, Diamond. It asked me to turn on bluetooth and transfered contacts.
Maybe this is the problem, I now have both Phone contacts and Google contacts linked to each other. Should I just delete Phone contacts and leave Google contacts only? How to delete all Phone contacts without demaging Google contacts?

Well what i did, or would do in your case is all the contacts form Touch diamond.
sync your Sensation first then delete your google account from it.
go to gmail, click contacts, manually enter them in from your diamond, then re, enter your google account into your sensation and re sync, i had to do this on my desire hd once when all my contacts messed up, i manually edited them added second numbers in gmail as i had duplicate contacts.
It turned out that having Phone contacts is undesirable - they messed up the sync. How to delete them is another question. I have too many contacts to be eager to retype them, so I did this:
1. Export contacts to the CSV file in GMAIL
2. On the Sensation People / Menu / View and select only phone contacts. Then Menu / Delete / Menu / Select all and finally Delete.
3. I kind of hoped that after that everything will be ok, but for some reason it also deleted linked Google contacts. So I just had to sit back and watch my GMAIL contacts disappear, one by one. Some of them remained, which probably means not all the contacts were successfully linked before. But most of the contacts were deleted.
4. I imported GMAIL contacts to GMAIL from the CSV file created in step 1
5. The better part - now I sit back and watch contacts appear on the Sensation, this time Google contacts only, no phone contacts.
6. I kind of hoped this ends the procedure but no - the links to the Facebook contacts were destroyed, so I had to make links again the hard way - manually. Took some time.
7. Now I should do the same procedure on the Desire, but I cannot bring myself to do it.
There MUST be a way to backup contacts together with their links to Facebook contacts. Any ideas?
my wife got a new d2g and the contacts wont sync to Google. this is the second phone she got in less than a week do to other problems, and the phone before this would not sync either. and it is just the contacts, the calender and the gmail sync fine. under the google account on the phone all the options are checked to sync and it shows the arrows that its trying to sync but when i look online there are no contacts. any ideas?
I'm pretty sure that it's considered normal behaviour. If the contacts weren't added manually after setting up a Google account on the phone, they won't sync, or at least that's what I have here.
My dx sync just fine and I set it up the same way. Not sure what the deal is.

Ok gonna take a wild guess here and say that you had the carrier transfer contacts from the old phone to the D2G and that would explian why they do not sync.
Look at the contacts (might have to go into edit mode) and see what "PROFILE" it says for each contact.
My guess is it says Phone Only.
What you need to do (and I'm going off memory since I am not running stock myself)
Edit each contact and in the menu there should be something that says NEW contact that will take the info from the one you are editing but ask you which account to make the new contact for. Select your GMail acct when asked and save it.
Then fine the gmail version of the contact you just made and select join or link and link it to the Phone only version.
This will give you one contact that has two profiles, phone only and Gmail.
What I suggest for anyone moving to Android for the first time is to get all your contacts into GMail (using above method) Import all your facebook contacts as well (You can do that through Yahoo Mail wizard and exporting to CSV then i8mporting into Gmail) and once your GMail has a complete and accurate contact list wipe the data on the phone and sync with Gmail to get all your contacts back. Be sure to make a backup of all your contacts on GMail once you are done to guard against future corruption issues and to be safe.
Cloud Contacts is not one of the best features of the phone but once you have integrated all your current contacts into GMail and joined them and Facebook into a proper list it is not a problem anymore.
