Wife's Infuse Rebooting... - Samsung Infuse 4G

well guys, i wanted my wifes infuse a bit faster so i went ahead and flashed the [FROYO-Kernel-OC/UV-BLN] Infusion Kernel 2.0] to the stock Froyo with SGS Kernel flasher, but i backed up the stock one before flashing, the thing is that i installed Laucher pro and SetCPU and went up to 1400mhz.. and like maybe 10 minutes later it started to reboot, it reboots 3 times and then i wont turn on, i have to boot it via recovery.. should i reinstall the kernel or go back to stock? can i go back without wipping data?? Thanks!!

If you can adb into your phone from recovery, you should be able to delete the voltage settings from init.d. Alternatively, just flash a different kernel that doesn't support overclocking.

Can i just reflash the stock kernel from the SGS backup??

You should be able to flash the stock Froyo Infuse kernel, but I'm not sure what will happen with SetCPU. It seems like your best bet.

if you flash the factory kerne lyou will have a brick because of voodoo. diable voodoo first and let the conversion happen again. it takes a while. or you can flash a non overclock voodoo kernel

Flash community kernel v8

If the phone was stock before the kernel will enable lagfix which makes the phone faster without the need for overclock. It also roots it and adds voodoo sound.

Is this the truth about the Charge or not?

i have read multiple tweets and posts that the charge is the best on the Stock rom? true? false?
also, what is the Lastest STOCK Odin that i can get? and if i reflash this on my charge using Odin, do i loose Clockwork?
thanks gang!
ALso, in your opinions for a charge noob (not android noob though) what would you say the best roms for the following are?
Stock DEBLOATED Froyo:
GIngerbrea DEBLOATED d:
no. the filesystem change provided by the voodoo lagfix alone is enough of a reason to go to a custom kernel

I ran that way for a while before flashing the GummyCharged ROM.
First you need to flash a custom recovery. I used Clockwork.
Next you have to flash a new Kernel. I used PeanutButta Jelly Time.
Neither mod touches your ROM at all. You'll be completely stock but with a new Voodoo enabled kernel.

I don't know for sure but I would say that you'll lose Clockwork Recovery. You may have to go through the rooting steps again. Let us know how it goes.

Can I flash my backed up stock kernel over Community kernel?

A few weeks ago I flashed the CWM Community kernel using SGS Kernel Flasher. No problems. Now I need to return Infuse to stock. (running stock ROM, only flashed v8 Community Kernel for ext4 and CWM Red). I backed up my stock kernel using SGS Kernel Flasher right before I flashed the v8 Community Kernel. So my question: Can I simply disable voodoo lagfix (via Red CWM), reboot to allow RFS conversion, then reflash the stock kernel (using SGS Kernel Flasher) over the v8 Community Kernel? Or will I create a problem flashing the stock kernel over the v8 Community Kernel? Will this remove the RED CWM Recovery? Thx.
i did that the other day with my wifes infuse, just disable lagfix, reboot you will here the robot lady again lol... go to SGS and reflash back to stock!
Thanks for the confirmation. Did you manually delete the /sdcard/Voodoo folder after reflashing stock kernel?

[Q] How to get Red CWM

I was running Infused 2.2.3 for the longest time and when I always went into recovery it was red.
Well, I was switching roms and got a hiccup in the install and had to revert back to stock using odin and gtg unbrick.
Once I was back to stock froyo, I rooted, replaced the recovery.bin file with the no sig file and then went into rom manager and got cwm, rebooted, reinstalled packages, etc...
Well I have cwm, but when I get into it, its green lettering...not red.
Only reason I ask is because just about everywhere I see, they say get into red.
Any ideas on how I can get red installed?
thanks

When in cwm, choose to install zip from SD card and go all the way to bottom and select "update.zip" and if it doesn't reboot, select reboot now and it should boot into Red CWM. That might do it i think
Froggys go ribbet

Flash Entropy's daily driver kernel. You'll get red CWM and voodoo lagfix. Great kernel by the way.

thanks, I will prob have a rom with a stock kernel...if thats the case, can I flash entropys kernel (which is my choice one on custom roms) through odin in the pda slot?
thanks for the help.
I will only want to flash a custom kernel to get root, then back to stock because the rom I will be running is based on one of the newer leaks, and I want video.

Well you need to have a kernel with voodoo enabled like Entropy's or you can't get red cwm. The stock leaks HAVE to have a stock kernel for video to work however. Oh, and yes you can. You can do that or through SGS Kernel Flasher on the market. What do you need red for anyway?
Don't forget, if I helped you, hit thanks please

To get video back flash stock kernel with sgs kernel flasher here:http://www.multiupload.com/PP69TXBEA5
UNPACK RAR AND FLASH ZIMAGE ONLY!
OKAY....I HAVE NOT PERSONALLY HAD THIS ISSUE, BUT TO BE SAFE, BEFORE FLASHING STOCK KERNEL , BOOT INTO CWM, SCROLL DOWN TO VOODOO AND DISABLE VOODOO LAGFIX. WHEN IT BOOTS YOU WILL HERE THE SEXY LADY DISABLING VOODOO. WHEN IT FULLY BOOTS BACK UP YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FLASH STOCK KERNEL WITHOUT ISSUES.
ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONE SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTS...
Download Rom Here
Thanks going to try it out

Man you're fast. I just got the leak, didn't even have time to uncompress it.
Excellent. So if we flash the stock kernel and get video working again, what are we losing in the process? Sorry if this is a noobish question, I'm just now switching from galnet MIUI.
Shouldnt lose anything...and you will keep root also...

You gain video and hdmi back. You may have to make a slight change to one of the void files if you lose access to your CD card.
I see. Thank you for the help! I was told about this file before, but when I tried editing it last time I messed it up... don't you edit the last value to a different number or something? Do you know what number that is? Thank you guys for the help, I really do appreciate it, what with all these awesome leaks. :]

You will also lose your voodoo filesystem optimizations, init scripting support and the charginghacks/undervolt capabilities (if you like Entropy's kernel).
Well I enjoyed it for 5 minutes before going back to cm7 with thunder script but I still appericate the upload as something different always looking for my next rom fix.

You either change a 3 to a 2 or a 2 to a 1 forget which right now.

If you have flashed the stock kernel and want external SD: In vold.fstab, in the line that starts with dev_mount sdcard1, change from mmc2 to mmc1
I feel pretty dumb right now. I flashed the leak and then uses sgs kernel flasher to flash the stock kernel and my phone is now stuck at the Samsung splash screen upon reboot. I let it sit there for about 10 minutes. Now, I can't even get back to recovery mode. Could someone provide some advice?
Did u pull the zimage out of the rar fike? or did you flash the rar file?? i posted in op to unpack the zimage from the rar file...i know it works becaise i flashed the stock kernel and am runni.g it now....running great actually

Don't you have to convert you file system back before flashing the stock rom?
Yes, I unpacked the zimage file from the .rar and sgs kernel flasher rebooted the phone automatically after applying it.

Did you disable voodoo lagfix in recovery before flashing the stock kernel? Not doing that can cause issues, if I'm understanding this correctly.
You dont have to disable voodoo....all i did was flash thru sgs and it booted up fine...if you are stuck however then disabling voodoo might fix your problem

No, I don't believe I had any lagfixes.
I was running stock froyo with only root and cwm installed
I downloaded the .zip for the leak
booted into recovery and wiped data/cache/dalvik
flashed the leak
phone booted up fine
installed sgs kernel flasher from the market
extracted zimage file from the .rar in the op
used sgs kernel flasher to flash the kernel
phone rebooted and now stuck at samsung screen
I've pulled the battery and then tried to reenter recovery mode, but no dice
I am going to try unbrick through download mode and heimdal
Ok..well i didnt know you were coming from froyo...i dont know how flashing this from froyo would work since i cant even remember when i ran froyo last. I came from my catyrom....might need to be on gingerbread with gingerbread bootloaders ...

Flashing Kernel Fail

Im running Oxygen 2.3.2 with whatever kernel came with that. I've been trying to flash Glados v2.2, it flashes properly in CWM but then, while rebooting, my phone gets stuck in the google boot screen, does anyone know how I can get it to boot properly?

Flash another kernel instead. AFAIK, Oxygen 2.3.2 is Gingerbread-based ROM and GLaDOS v2.x is an Ice Cream Sandwich-based kernel. It will never boots.
I just tried Netarchy 1.40...same results

Is that a kernel for GB? If so try to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing.
First check the post where you're downloading the kernel from and make sure it works with your phone model/version. Oxygen is a GB rom so use a kernel for GB.
To flash just put the kernel file on your root directory of your SD and boot into clockwork. After that wipe cache, go into advanced and wipe dalvik, and then flash the kernel. There shouldn't be any problems after that.
OH and don't forget that the first boot always takes long so have some patience!
