[Q] Is this normal? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have updated my Samsung Omnia 7 to mango but i don't seem to have all the features like touch to focus/the letters between the apps and i can't find the cellular settings. Is this normal ?

Are you sure you have 7220 install? You have to do multiple updates to get Mango.
Official or leaked update? Leaked update doesn't include updated firmware.
If so, then you are suppose to have touch to capture.
Also, the letters of apps only appear after you have 45 apps.

Letters appear when you have lot's of apps.
Touch to focus may not be active if your drivers were not updated. See Omnia 7 forums to know how to update them

[Q]What's in the update (just received) "HTC update for windows phone 7"

I just received the notificiation that there was an update available.
I'm installing it now. It was named "HTC update".
Anybody having an idea what's in it?
Can't seem to find anything yet
What phone/operator are you using?
Htc Mozart
It's a Branded TMO-DE device.
This is the phone information afterwards:
OS Version: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.13301.111
Hardware revision number: 0004
radio software version: 5.65.09.25_22.45.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 1.33.2250.1(123643)
It is just the May 7392 security update. Just some changes to SSL certificates, no new features or anything.
I received that one allready some time ago.
I allready was on 7392
Well I know that HTC released an update for people who used ChevronWP7.Updater, but no one really knew what it did.
You seem to have a new bootloader. I also have a T-MO DE Mozart, and after the May update the bootloader version is 1.32.2250.1(119496).
So it's probably some driver/OEM bugfix update.

Could as well be the driver update that was needed in order to use the HTC hidden WiFi app.

No, this one worked after the previous HTC update. By the way, I also got an update notification.

[Q] HTC Update for Windows Phone (Mango)

I have just received an update today on zune saying HTC Update for Windows Phone.
I am running Mango RTM (Leaked) but everytime i update, i get to step 7 after phone restarting and it says creating backup, but them my phone restarts a 2nd time and zune update fails with error code: C1010007.
The windows phone website says the error means: The Zune software doesn't recognize my phone, or stops the update in the middle...
anyone know how I can fix this? or will I have to go back to NoDo or something? If so, how do I do it because my hard drive broke and I lost my backup
Thanks
Your computer doesnt have the usb driver. Try it on another computer. Easier.

thats awesome! cheers.
ive got HD7 on O2
also got the update message, will report back
Well updated without issue. I didn't record what version the phone was on before the update but there was no change to OS version, probably just to firmware.
Although i had done a factory reset after i went to mango RTM when it was released ages ago. Maybe some remnants of the beta's is causing an issue for you?
I got the update to work, however I had to restore my phone to factory settings
the update seemed to be crashing when trying to create a backup of my phone's data at step 7. My phone only had like 1gb space left, maybe it was too much for it to backup??
anyways, it seems to be working now. got the progress bar. will let you know how i get on.
also its not too bad i guess, got all my music and photos on zune.
So, this update updated my phone and it is now 100% official, i was coming from RTM.
Can anyone tell me the difference between RTM, HTC leaked and the current rollout?
Update seems to have gone swimmingly. However, has anyone else lost Local Scout after the update?
I'm confused.
EDIT: Nevermind. I got it. Tried a locations search in Bing Maps and it worked after that.

well the official RTM is basically a manufacturer release and for official devs. HTC RTM leaked is the same as above, but for non dev devices. The current roll out is newer firmware and tweaks. as far as im aware anyways lol

My understanding is: RTM is for manufactures and providers, the leaked version is the modified RTM by HTC ... so there shouldn't be a difference between the leaked HTC version and the current rollout. Maybe a HTC user with official update can post the version and device information here?

Ok Thanks, seems like the leaked HTC Rom is exactly the same. I've got the custom ROM from ansar and just want to know if the leaked version is equal to the currrent rollout version.

It has been confirmed that if you had the leaked 7720 RTM, you got the Provision removal to get your updates back on track and installing the "HTC Update" brought the rest of the phone up to par as far as drivers are concerned.
Smooth Update Sailing for Microsoft so far. My Backup that the RTM to HTC update looks to have just disappeared for some reason (still have my NoDo Backup) but other than that, it has been a painless venture into Beta land. Love it.
Thanks for the information. So I will wait for ansar because I want to have a JB rom.
The provisioning fix would install only if you were not on the RTM. If you had 7720 then the cleanup is skipped and only HTC UPdate is installed

[Q] Please post your post-upgrade firmware

Hi all,
can you please post your firmware numbers post-upgrade to Mango?
I'm just wondering, as I cannot install HTC Compass from the HTC Hub anymore, it claims that I don't have the required hardware, or some other problem. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

This is after having the update forced.
thanks and best regards,
Got mango. But I can't get WI fi anymore. It keeps saying incorrect password. And it was always working well and was working right before I installed mango..
I have this:

Radio hard: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 3.2.2250.0

I wonder what's the reason for these small difference in the firmware version and the Radio Software :\

I am a WP7 developer, so I had access to the Mango betas. Never forced any update MS supplied the Mango revisions directly to us. Today, I upgraded from Beta straight to 7720 (Released To Web) version from Microsoft - as they said this was safe. There was a special "Beta Bundle Cleanup" update package that cleans up beta bits, and converted settings to RTW version.
The HTC Compass states:
"This app is not available for your device." So, it's not just your forced update to Mango.

I have the same exact thing, I was previously running the Mango RTM then upgraded to the official Mango via Zune.
Dont you need the new HTC hub installed before them apps work?
Dose the Connected Media say the same error? if so it definatly works after the htc hub updates.
Cant get the compass app to even list here in UK, not sure why!

Looks like they removed the HTC Compass app, I tried reinstalling it via the windowsphone.com website and it just gives an error.
I already had the compass installed and got Mango using the force method....it still launches and works for me. But I did get an update to like 14 apps shortly after I forced Mango.

Oh wow! When I posted my firmware above, I had the HTC Compass ready to be isntalled from the HTC Hub - even thought it gave an error.
Today, after upgrading the HTC Hub, the compass is gone.

[Q] error 80180048 when updating omnia 7

hi,
I have a problem when updating my omnia 7 with zune from 7.10.7720.68 to the latest 7.10.7740.16. ive searched the Q&A and didnt find any results. ive checked my usb drivers to be up to date. ive also tryed with microsofts windows phone support tool and it didnt work. i belive i have a standard rom, its a 2nd hand phone
OS version 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision nr 3.15.0.4
Radio software 2424.11.7.2
Radio hardware 0.0.0.800
Bootloader 5.8.0.8
chipsoc 0.36.2
Any ideeas?
I used to have this problem. I narrowed it down to some kind of timeout happening on the phone. I suspect it might have had something to do with the time it takes to download the actual update (I have a slow internet connection).
Try using the following method to push the updates and see if you notice any improvement:

Flash AT&T Focus Flash back to stock for Tango...?

So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).
I just updated to Tango using the cab sender on my Focus Flash. Everything worked fine. My firmware ver. is the same as yours. It has been that rev since as far as i can remember. I don't think there is a firmware newer than that for the Focus Flash.
Firmware is 2103.11.10.1
OS ver is 7.10.8773.98

Someone at wpcentral posted this for their Focus Flash:
Look like Firmware Update, Radio Software, BootLoader
Firmware Revision 2103.12.05.04
Hardware Revision Number 23.1.0.8
Radio Software Version: 2103.12.5.4
Radio Hardware Version: 0.0.0.6
BootLoader Version 6.5.17.0
Chip SOC Version 0.74.21.1
So there must be one out there (plus, everyone else has been receiving firmware updates, like Nokia, so I can't see Samsung not making one).
Since you used the debrand trick to update to 8107, you'll most likely have to reset your phone to get the Samsung update. I did the same thing & then did the cab send method to update to 8773. Didn't have any problems. Kept trying to get the Samsung update via the disconnect trick. No luck. As soon as I reset my phone, it popped right up. I'm installing it now. Good luck.
