[Q]HELP ME about ROM and Kernels

sorry about my stupid question, i'm new here and need your help, I got Infuse 4g in canada, my fw is 2.3.3 (UXKG3), Kernel: 2.6.35.7 and I just rooted my phone. I don't know what Rom is good for me and what i need to do. I see lots of Rom in this forum, but i dont know how to use it .Plz help me. THANKKKKKKKKK

The only rom you could use is infused 2.0.2

Then read a bit more.
Then I'd suggest waiting. We have Gingerbread coming to us from ATT next month. Put further questions in the Q and A forum.

So I read that CM7.1 has been released and among the newly supported devices was the samsung vibrant and galaxy s. Still nothing for SGS4G, but I was wondering how far off this could be given the expanded support to similar devices. Any of the current devs out there think this makes it more practical to get it to our device?

Yes its in the wrong fourms but im going to answer your question anyways.
the reason you dont see cm7 for the sgs4g is lack of a asop kernel (sence we dont have access to gb sourcecode for the sgs4g kernel.. (and theres alot of diffrences between the sgs4g and your typical galaxy s series rom that makes porting it without the source cumbersome.....
krylon 360 has been working forever on cm7 for the sgs4g and has done well they need the kernel source from gb to finish the kernel and complete the work..
so once samsung cough goes final with the gb rom and gives us source for the kernel expect cm7 and other asop roms in there fully glory

Man I feel exactly the same. So i open the page, and the first thing that shows up is cyanogenmod 7.1. My mind was partying until I saw [q] before it.

KZ10? I was expecting a SGH-T959VMCNAQLIRJD1963804 leak!

I have the CM7 rom for the 4g. The only problem is, the only things working are GPS and Buddies Now.

I apologize for getting everyone too excited and posting in the wrong thread. I don't spend very much time on these forums and didn't realize there was a q&a section. Thanks for the explanations though, hopefully we'll see it develop eventually. To be honest, I think my time with SGS4G will be ending once the nexus prime or whatever they're calling it now arrives.

I have one skyrocket and one hercules (T-mobile)

I have been searching for this for a while now. The filefactory file at Silver's post failed me. Thank you very much.

This post Will remain in the development forums due to the following:
1. People will have easy access to stock firmware
2. Devs who base their work in samsung stock firmwares will have easy access as well.
3. A healthy discussion about firmware comparison is always a good idea.
4. The OP is a Recognized Developer and he explained his reasons to post here ( in a very polite, discrete and valid ways).
So, stop the discussion about where the thread belongs, that is our (xda team decision) and no one else....

I am trying to downlaod the Infused lastest version for my Samsung Infuse. I just can´t download it because the link for downloading it says to me that it is unavailable...
Is there any other source from with I can download it?

Are you referring to the Stock Gingerbread from Samsung?
If so see my Signature links for Qkster one click method it will put the latest ver of GB, works great I use it a lot....IMHO

I didn't understand the question from post...but i see now...:thumbup:

Infused was the first rom I ever ran, gtg was such a pioneer for the infuse, just searched my files at home and can't seem to find it sorry. It was a great rom but I would recommend using a newer rom with updated support. My favorite right now is Emancipation, I had 1 day 17 hrs on one charge the other day. Infused is a great rom tho

Can I use this I9000 update: ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.1_I9000.zip to upgrade my friends SGS4G to ICS? I have a link with detailed instructions to upgrade the SGS to ICS with this zip and a few other steps, but it wont let me post it. Thank you for reading this.

Technically any phone is compatible lol but yes sgs4g will get ICS just probably not from sammy

Where is sixstring here is another post about ics if people would read they would already see tons of posts on this. Im not *****ing just wonder why i am the one to have to say anything. Atleast look in dev section for one if you dont see one there is not one. Its not like the devs have it hidden somewhere
