[Q] battery problem - HTC Desire S

My DS is s-off and rooted. I've tried many different roms. For the last 2 weeks suddenly a problem came up.
I use Battery Monitor Widget from the market and battery is recognised as 1600mAh (not 1450)
As u can see from the screenshot below it charges fine but when reaches 88% stays there because it is fully charged at 4210mV.
That tme i entered recovery where it said that my battery was 100% full and i wiped bat statistics which also changed the percentage in the widget (big leap from 88 to 100%)
Same thing happens even if i change battery capacity from settings of the widget!
Same thing happens with every widget or rom
Is there a way to change capacity in the root of the phone, because maybe this is the reason to my problem.
Help will be appreciated. Thanks

download battery calibration from the market and use it!
it will reset your inaccurate battery stats and sort out your issues

i've tried many times but it didn't work just like wiping battery stats from recovery

hmm, that is very odd then. Have you tried different battery monitors to see what what they say the ma rating is?

You can over ride the battery capacity using BMW I too use it and it thinks mine was 1600 also but I set it manually to 1400
Within BMW try Settings ...monitor..... battery capacity = 1400
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium

thanks guys,
but i've tried both methods without success
is there a way to change battery capacity, i don't know, somewhere in the root of the phone, in its properties?

[Q] [HELP] Draining battery

Hello,
I need some help with my evo...i have it running on the fresh 3.5 ROM and netarchy-toasts kernel, latest version and all. I am overclocking as well, but nothing to drastic. Until recently, the battery life on my phone went into the ***** literally. Before it went 24 hours plus with medium to heavy usage. Now i can leave the screen on and literally (no exaggeration) watch the battery drain sliver by sliver. I just did a complete data wipe and reflashed the rom and kernel both in hopes of resolving the issue, but its still draining. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really need this fixed but cant figure it out on my own :/
edit: the only time this happens is when the screen is on, when the screen is off it STILL DOES drain more than usual, but nothing compared to what happens when its unlocked. My though is that an app is running in the background eating up my batter life, but i have no clue what it is or how to locate it.
This is what the battery usage is looking like. Always Android system up at the top

Disable your mobile connection when not using it turn auto brightness off off auto sync but the main factor is.the mobile connection turn that off when not using and u we get better battery results
What's gd for these kind of things is juice defender

I forgot to mention that i have juicedefender installed already, and set cpu with profiles as well. one of the profiles is for when the screen is off, set for 300/300 (not accurate, but is set around that)
If its going as fast as you say (literally draining in an hour or so) I would say check your batter, try a new one. Otherwise you already have juice defender (which I tried and it really didn't do much else) so everything should be covered. Try wiping Dalvik cache, also try wiping batter stats (both are in clockwork recovery under the "advanced" tab.
Good luck and sorry if this doesn't help
Hey,
Download Juice Defender and AutoKiller fro the market and watch the Magic. me and you have the same phone and same rom. Note: delete any tsk Managers ou have because they will interfere with juice defender..

Best battery life with trinity or other kernel

Can someone tell me any suggestions to have better battery life with a custom kernel
I'm currently running aokp milestone 4 with trinity and just look at this horrible battery stats

And just by typing this I lost 2 percent
Flash Matr1x to start. See if that helps. Also, look at what apps are running. settings>apps>running. See if anything there is on a lot, and stop it. Turn auto sync off.
I get about 20 hours of decent usage with this setup
every kernel and rom combo is going to perform differently. I find the best way to get the most out of my battery is to calibrate the battery by fully charging, allowing the battery to fully discharge, and then repeating those two steps once or twice more.
You without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes...
download battery calibration app from market, fully charge battery (94 or 95%), then calibrate using the app. Allow your battery to fully discharge (until it shuts itself off), and finally charge your phone completely with it still off. You should notice an amazing enhancement in battery life.

what I do is: (Use NSTools, its easier to make this setups!)
- Use LiveOC on 110%
- Overclock to 1110 Mhz - 200 Mhz
- Activate Deep Idle
- Use Lionheart governor.
Try this and see if it helps.
Turn off GPS and nfc if you're not using it! And wifi if you're not connected to a network, I think that may help something!

How about you tell us your on screen time?
Seems like your phone is on for quite sometime given that is it at 41%. Usually during a normal day mine usually consumes 28% with 2 hours of on screen time.
If you're hitting 4-6 hours of on screen time, that battery stat is NORMAL.
Thank you guys for your suggestion but i think my battery is just too old
im ordering some spare batteries for amazon
Tell me what you think about these

[Q] Battery life

Can you guys try this?
Set your screen to auto brightness.
Use your phone - web browsing. Now take note of your battery percentage (I use battery dr. so the percentage is on the top of the screen).
When the percentage changes - start timing. Browse primarily white web pages (news etc...).
Time how long before the percentage changes.
Mine is somewhere around 3 minutes (or slightly less). That makes it run around 5 hours (300/60) if it's consistent.
Is this what you guys are getting??? I just put in a new battery and to be honest it seems just like the older battery.
Thanks!!!!
I seem to be consuming 25% of battery in a hour of web browsing (stock battery). So, if you've upgraded to the 2100 mAh One X's battery, everything looks correct.
Thank you. I can't believe how fast this phone burns through the battery. GPS is a killer drain too.
Amazing how many programs start running as well without starting them (Battery Doctor shows me apps using battery).
Oh well.
You have the 2100 mAh battery, don't you?
Yes browsing drains the battery pretty fast. This happens on every smartphone,.though.
About the thousands apps automatically starting, most of them don't drain anything at all, it's not their fault.
try to change browser

No, I have a brand new OEM battery. I'm not sure but I think it's due to the AMOLED screen which just burns through battery when displaying white.
Not every phone burns through battery this fast. The One S is one of the worst. See this pict:

Drastic effect on battery after downgrading to Lollipop

My LG G4 H818P came with Marshmallow 6.0 installed. It had bugs, unrootable and bad battery life. So, after a week or so, I used LGUP to flash a stock Lollipop kdz and then rooted it. Both of the procedures went just fine.
But the battery life has worsened drastically, let alone improve. For instance, I checked the battery at 92% before going to sleep and woke up in the morning with 71% but the whole time the screen was turned off and nothing was going on background. The battery doesn't even last 1.5 hours when I'm watching a movie or browsing the internet.

have you calibrated youre battery....???
charge your phone 100% and
calibrate it using battery calibration app from play store
it requied root
when youre phone is full charged 100% open this app and give it root acess and click calibrate
after that unplug ur charger and reboot your device
and discharge youre battery with normal use and after discharging to 10-5% charge it again... and its done
and if you want more battery juice
use these apps
amplify battery extender(requires root & xposed frame work)
powernap (req.. root & xposed)
if you dont have xposed
use l speed app download it from google play and toggle main tweaks (just need root)
see the magic when you left your phone at night for 100% at the morning it will be 98-99%
its awesome app just try it (it supports all devices)
Thanks a lot. I didn't try calibrating because I thought a decalibrated battery would show weird & incorrect percentage. Anyway I'll let u know after I do it

New battery charging in 30/40 minutes from 0 to 100%, stock charger.

Well, after i substitute the battery with a new one using this guide i got really f up.
Now i guess the real problem is the one in the title. I alredy tried to:
- flash back to stock
- keep the stock for a few days
- flash a clean sultan
- pray Cthulhu
Now i'm using the latest SultanCM and it charges at an insane speed while the battery lasts less of course... Any idea of the reason behind it? Maybe @Sultanxda knows?

The reason is your new battery,no matter which one you buy, they always fu*k up.
The only thing you can do is wait for the battery to calibrate completely.

So it's normal?
That's my actual situation:

This graph shows percentage and voltage of the battery over almost 24h. At first i'm charging, then i use it normally. After many attemps like this one i noticed that the battery life is now normal, but the percentage is still f up. Maxium voltage was around 4.3V, which is fine i guess
Is it common that the voltage reading is so inaccurate?
