[KERNEL][ERA]Revolted Kernel Posted 10/5/11 - Epic 4G Android Development

Hey everyone! I've noticed a few people ask for this kernel and mention that it needs it's own thread, so.....here it is.
I didn't make this kernel, someone on our team with more skills than I put this together. I will get the proper "THANKS" posted when the rest of the team wakes up
Download here: http://www.multiupload.com/GXY3KOAP3J
Kernel source can be found here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35327503/ReV..._source.tar.gz
Hope this covers all XDA requirements! We here at ERA are very concerned with meeting forum standards and practices!

What is included with/in this?

awesome!!! thanks for this. which ROMs is can we use this with?

I have used it with Simply AOSP and ERA revolted, both very successfully.

I will put together a change log as soon as I can get it....together. Right.
You should have no problem using this with any EC05 ROM.

About Darn Time ... LOL this is a really good kernel , I have tried it on SRF / UrBanRegen / AOSP and my trusty-dusty Frankenstein ROMs = runs great on all of 'em

Definitely my favorite kernel. Been running it on Urban Regen for a few days now

This kernel is the ****... 100/1200mhz with no wake locks. Battery life is great with heavy use.

Lol, its about time.

I dont see why not, but make a nandroid before flashing just to be on the safe side.

Like Zander said, I can't imagine any problems with any Froyo ROMs, custom or stock. Just always back up!

Do we just install this through custom recovery then?
OH I see, so what if we dont go back to stock with odin?
I see two different versions here.
Can you tell me what's the difference in two? I know one is over clocked one by the name but I want to know what does other one does..

The other one has the Andromeda Kernel.
im really hoping we get something soon like the htc's have......(get roms via rom manager) and not have to go thru this backdoor route for a custom recovery image!!!
mmmmm, think I'll wait a few days more....not sure I want to create work for myself just yet on my fresh stock rom w/root....

All you have to if you are on the stock rom is extract the zip and run the bat script and you are good to go. It is very easy to do. And restoring from odin is just as easy. It is what I recommend but it should work without

Do you have full rom for members or this kernel is it?If so does this kernel change theme also? And whats the difference between andromeda posted on xda and the one you have posted on here?
Thanx in advance.

lol there is a lot of differences. it is faster has better battery life and overclocks to 1.2 ghz. the frameworks have been optimized for more performance and battery. also there is a lot of theming to remove samsungs ugly colors. it is not just a kernel. it is a rom that instead of flashing moves files in place.

I've been using this ROM since pre7 and won't ever switch to anything else.
ive always heard about this DEV but neva found his ROMs.....prolly cause i didnt dearch hard enough.......thanks for this......giving it a try now......GOOD POST!!!!!
I for one will give it a try. Some people have no respect. Why would anyone that has no interest in this Rom read the post and then dog the dev. I can't wait to run jonathan413's Rom because he must be an awesome dev and is offering a AOSP Rom with all new features and morphs our phone into a beautiful woman to do whatever you want(or man if that's what you prefer).
I was going to post this but didn't want to with out decks permission. You beat me to it! lol.
Great rom tho, i been using deck's roms since his Beta 2.3.3. Its a great rom and very stable but 1.1 has a MMS issue. FYI. Still a great rom and most CM7 themes work on it too, especially Dark horse!

Hi it does not affect the battery as much as the other apps because it uses a modified framework for notifications rather than a service listening for notifications. However features like multiple flash and pulse will have some impact on battery because it needs to keep turning on and off the light.
But from feedback I've received its considerably less that others.

[ROM][EI22]MostlyStock Rebuild | 11/17

Obviously, as with everything here, you SHOULD take caution before flashing this. However, if you DON'T, and something goes wrong, then it is in no way my or anyone else's fault.
I rebuilt this ROM.
What's changed:
-Updated the kernel to version v0.0.2. (nubecoder)
-Added the 3G/1x icon fix. (SenseiSimple)
-Added Hotspot hack. (Tortel1210/Necrosan)
-Added the Camera sound fix. (IcePlanet)
-Removed some Sprint/Samsung bloat (suggest more to remove if you want).
-Added CRT off.
-Added a 1% battery mod.
And of course, the old goodies:
-Deodexed
-noCIQ (k0nane)
-LogsProvider Fix (Tortel1210)
-GPS Fix (hienkhieu)
-Extended Power Menu (untermensch (I also borrowed the icons for the menu from him. Hope you don't mind!))
Download
Video from qbking77:
Old Links:
Update 4 (added Extended Power Menu)
Update 3 (added LogsProvider fix)
Update 2 (added noCIQ)
Update 1 (added GPS Fix)

I don't know if this os a noob question or not...but can EH17 KERNELS be used with this build....the reason I ask is because in proir GB leaks there was some cross-compatability between builds that some themes could be used with...so im thinking would it work the same for kernels

I would say wait until the ODIN prerooted w/ CWM comes along. Then base with that and flash custom ROMs as they release and appear worthy.

I'm not entirely sure. This comes with nubernel, which was made for EH17, and I don't think any modifications were done to it to get it to work, so I suppose they can.

I believe the nubernel is actually an EI22 kernel. It was created from the source that we saw in October that was later taken down, which is identical to the new EI22 source that is currently up. So technically we were running EH17 leak with EI22 kernel before. I may be wrong but this is how I understand it.

Thank you for adding it there. And you're quite welcome.
Source earlier and source now are identical, so the only way it wouldn't work is if the devs had to add something to make it work with EH17, than in turn only works with EH17.
I don't think that's the case, and I'm running nubernel problem free thus far.
