So I flashed to miui from a froyo Infused build. Everything flashed fine. Miui has been working pretty good. Got some of the same issues everybody else has. After my first reboot I noticed things went a little south. A lot of my Widgets don't work, particularly fancy Widgets. No big deal, but I was going to go into recovery and clear my data to see if that helps and I can't get in. Tried multiple methods but phone just boots back into miui. I tried rebooting into recovery from rom manager, which says I'm running the latest cwm, and what appears to be the download mode image for a couple of seconds and then it reboots back into miui.
So my question is, does anybody else have this issue? Is it worth it to return to stock and start all over again?
Well I'm an idiot and I was able to get into recovery. Wiped cache but like I expected didn't fix my Widgets issue.

This release of MIUI has has problems with widgets. This upcoming Friday's might fix it, so just wait and see or install another launcher such as ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro to use your widgets.
Next time, you may want to address your MIUI questions to over here. That is the official MIUI Q&A thread, and you may even find your answer without the need of even posting your question. Just saying... Oh, and yes. The latest MIUI versions have problems with the widgets.

Do a full wipe.
I did a full swipe and cleared cache, still having the same issue.
To expand on foxcompany's post. If you don't do a full wipe when installing a custom Rom you will, almost garuanteed, experience issues. These issues include anything and everything from WiFi and GPS issues to random force closes on random applications.
So, if you experience issues; OS, App, or Widget issues and didn't do a full wipe that is the reason 99.9% of the time. If you're a noob (no worries, everyone was or is in some areas) I can post the full-wipe.zip that I use when I switch roms.
Another note... Typically upgrading roms, for example, upgrading from Android Revolution 5.x to 5.1.x you don't need a full wipe unless explicitly stated by the OP.
Long post for a simple question but hopefully it will help you or others with similar issues.

Downloaded FULL-WIPE-1.3.zip from the sticky post, ran it and still have the same issues.
Maybe I downloaded the wrong one? I tried the fullwipe 1.2 and Vision and only 1.3 was successful.
Full wipe 1.3 is the one. If you flashed full wipe and reflashed the rom the issues should have resolved. If not, you'll have to wait for some more ideas cause that's all I got lol.

Try redownloading android revolution, do a full wipe and install. If u are still having problems after that, try downloading and installing a completely different rom. Of course..wipe first. See if the issue persists. If it doesn't persist with a different rom, I would get in contact with android rev developer for further assistance.

I don't know if anyone has specifically stated they are also running Rev 5.1.3...but...
I'm running Revolution 5.1.3 and my clock works fine. Try redownloading the ROM, doing a full wipe, then flashing again. It's possible you got a corrupted file when downloading the ROM - Did you check the md5 of the ROM's .zip after it was on your SD?
I will download the ROM again when I get home and see if it's still there. Funny thing is I ran AR 3.7 and the clock worked file.

Ok so I re-downloaded the ROM and everything is working again. It appears that I installed the wrong no-sense patch which cause the clock to not to work.

The lockscreen whether its charging or not comes on by itself at random times and sometimes several times in a row. When its not charging, it obivously kills my battery. I thought it might be related to the rom im using, but i have tried several different roms and they all do the same thing. Another thing is my speakerphone will come on by itself when i answer a call. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
any ideas?

Sounds like something is set to turn the screen on. Do you have any custom messaging apps? What rom are you running? any mods? please provide as much info about your phone as you can to help find the issue

Right now i am running Android Revolution. When i first got the phone it had the Ingersoll Rom installed and i don't remember it doing it then, but since then i have tried, coredroid, rcmix3d, virtuous, honeysense, leedroid and they all do it. I have both "s" off. No i did have chompsms installed a while back, but have done several data wipes since then. No other mods. It is eating the hell out of my battery by doing this and i am starting to regret trading my iphone for it.

I would flash a sock rom and see if it does it. might be a phantom file that is not getting over written. If it doesnt do it then then reload the rom. are you restoring any system data or apps?

ya i think i might have found one in the sticky, ill try and report back.
Trying the TPC stock optimized rom for the day, ill give details on it tonight.
Ahh, i give up. It keeps kicking car panel on. I am getting so frustrated with this. And no rom has fixed the speakerphone coming on automatically.

Sounds like you have a device issue, car panel should only come on when it is plugged into the car dock, might be a USB port issue

Sorry to hear ur issues. I can understand ur frustration but don't leave a general remark like this, cos what u r experiencing could be a stray issue due to some random app.
Anyways, coming to ur issue, try this once:
1. Format ur SD card
2. Copy the Android Revolution 5.1.10 (I am saying this ROM cos I've been using this since 5.1.7 and its been good all along)
3. Go to CWM console
4. Do the factory wipe option (data/cache wipe)
5. Go to advanced and wipe the dalvik cache
6. Flash the ROM
7. Reboot
Do NOT restore any apps or data using TiBu.
Let me know how it goes. (I am subscribing to this thread )

Is it possible the sdcard is bad? I am about to format and reinstall android revolution right now. Ill post the results.
OK, flashed Android Revolution. The speakerphone still comes on automatically. Will keep an eye on the screen to see what it does. I have not any installed any mod, or apps yet. Totally clean install.
OK, it didnt do it as often, but the screen still came on. I'm not 100% sure, but i think it came on as data was being used? i noticed the data arrows moving. Formatting and flashing coredroid now and testing.
1. Did u restore any apps?

This is strange... Hearing for the first time. Could u pls post this on the Android Revolution thread and see if anyone else faced this issue. As far as I can recall, I don't remember seeing any such thing on that thread.
Edit: You could try re-downloading the ROM zip. Sometimes zips can be corrupt too.
This time when u try, please backup ur data on SD card, and format it fresh, and load only the rom zip on it.

I am currently running the updated version of Zeus 3 and am having this problem, but this has happened with any previous roms that integrate tw4 as well.
Whenever I try to place an app in the dockbar in preferences, and then press menu, save and restart, the phone locks up and restarts with nothing but the app drawer button in the dock, just like it was before I tried to change it.
Is this a permanent problem for tw4 or is there something I am doing wrong? I really like the tw4 launcher, so it would be really nice if there is a fix to this problem. Thanks!

some users, myself including, has had some issues with tw or other launchers.
Others have had no issues.
Read the Zeus thread Dev section and Q/A.
You will get more info.
TW in default mode usually runs w/o problems.
Once you enable more animations etc. you may get problems.
to restore: boot in recovery. wipe cache, wipe dalvik and fix permissions
and reboot. it may clear your prob. If not, do a complete factory reset and reflash the rom

Thanks for the tips qkster, but it still freezes up and reboots the whole phone without changing anything... It sucks cause I like the look and feel of tw4.5 better than any other launcher, but I kinda need to be able to put apps on the dock to make it look nice and uncluttered.
On a side note, I see that you have 69 thanks. I want to thank you for your help, but I also don't want to ruin a good number I guess i'll go ahead and thanks you though. Just thought I would alert you about your thanks counter.
I have never had good luck at all with tw4. If I download a rom that has tw4 in it, I will delete it and replace it with tw30.

If you are using the APEX launcher instead of the Sence launcher DO NOT install the update that came down today for the apex launcher. It causes a fatal stop responding error. Clear all the caches did not work. The only thing that ended up working was a factory reset. If you happen to have a backup from a couple days ago that will work too.
Please get the word out, I don't have enough spam posts to post in the development thread but people need to know before they lose their phone setups and have to start all over.

Have u sent a pm to the dev of the Rom letting him know the issue you were having? That way if there is a problem he can look into for the other users.
Its true for any ICS ROM. I'm on stock 2.20 and the update killed it.
EDIT: The developer released an update and it fixes the FC.

You can do this.. remove/uninstall older version using titanium backup, try installing new version ( try manually pushing apk to /system/app if you still have issues)

Hmmm, that would require some in-depth CMD prompt knowledge with ADB. Since the error crashes the Launcher there is no way to access the phone anymore. It just continue to crash loop. I did however find that if you left the use this every time between Sense and APEX you can switch to Sense and then access your phone. If you checked it then the only way I found to correct the problem is a format or back-up pre APEX update.
Now my Nocturnal Apps / Mods are gone and reinstalling after factory reset corrupted the load again and I have to factory reset again. I didn't delete the SD card might have something to do with that. Either way, they'll fix this soon enough or NSE 3.8 might be out soon for upgrade.

I have seen posts about these issues for apex launcher in several threads. I downloaded and apk file , installed it and did not get any force closes

Hi, I would normally post this in the ROM forum that I downloaded, but since I'm a noob and am under 10 posts, I can't do it. I downloaded Pure Motive's ROM [ROM][VRBLK3][4.1.1][RLS14.1] GalaxyMod ¯`•._ and installed, clean install, wiped data, wiped devlik cache, and booted into ROM. Pretty quickly I get: Unfortunately, Exchange services has stopped. I did not even have time to set up my email account (which is an exchange account). I go through trying to set up email, and I still get that error.
Wondering if this is something anyone's encountered whether on Pure's ROM or another? I tried to search all the forums, and did not find a fix anywhere other than people telling you to remove any exchange accounts...but I don't have any added.
I flashed it again after wiping and clearning cache again, and that didn't seem to make a difference.

I'm on Verizon as well. Also, I'm going to flash the ROM for the 3rd time and just accept the defaults and see if that makes a difference. I did select Nova Launcher instead of stock, so maybe that could be the problem...
I tried some of the other Kernals with no luck so far as well with the issue, and reading through the ROM post I don't find anything in there about kernal issues, people seem to be using a few different with no issues.
I know on my older phones, fixing permissions we always the cure. Maybe give that a shot.

Hope someone has an answer, I'd love to flash a different ROM, and have had trouble with CM10.1 ROM's not working, but those had issues with home button not working, and i was too lazy to research solutions for those.
