Not a new problem, have you done a search yet?
Have you unticked the automatic under date & time, set your time zone and reticked automatic? If that does not work You may need to restore to stock via gtg.....
Yes i do a quick search. But this started happening after doing GTG's restore to stock. Then i did a stock 3finger recovery to wipe data. I have unchecked and checked auto time but after a minute it jumps ahead 4 hours.
Ok weird phone. Of course right after ive posted this the time hasnt jumped ahead 4 hours haha

Hi everyone,
I searched before I posted, but couldn't find a similar issue.
I'm running Cognition 3.04, and touch input seems to freeze up. If I let the screen go to 'sleep' and unlock the phone it will work for a few seconds, then start freezing again. Sometimes I can just wait a couple seconds and it will accept input. Even after a reboot, it will start this behavior after a few minutes.
The issue goes away when I go back to stock 2.1, though.
I realize the obvious solution is to stay with stock, but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this and knew of a better solution (who wants to be on stock).
Thanks in advance.
That has happened to me before. Went away with a fresh flash and wipe of cache.

You didn't restore system data when you flashed this, did you?

Do you have any over/underclock settings applied? Are there are any voltage settings that you find?

The first time I flashed, I did that which I later realized to be a huge mistake. When this issue started, I flashed back to stock did a master clear and reflashed Cog, but the issue remains. Is there some step I missed in clearing out the old stuff?
This happens to me in swype occasionally. Super annoying bc it thinks I am taking my finger off the screen when I am not causing swype to be worthless. after a reboot it goes away

I haven't played with anything other than flashing Cognition onto the phone.
I'm going to try going through the whole thing again, but this time not reinstalling any old apps/data through Titanium Backup. I'll set everything from scratch and see if that makes a difference.
My Infuse refuses to show the correct time when running any Froyo ROM (including stock). My timezone is GMT-5 Eastern, but my phone says I'm GMT-4 Eastern (huh?) and the time is exactly 4 hours ahead. This is system-wide and affects widgets, text and call logs, email times, etc. This issue has persisted for more than 24 hours now.
This is not fixed by turning GPS/wifi location on or off, disabling and re-enabling automatic date/time, restarting the phone, pulling the battery for 5 minutes etc. it's just constantly 4 hours off. Manually setting the time and later re-enabling automatic time will put me 4 hours off again. None of the other AT&T Android smartphones in my house are showing the incorrect time. I didn't have this issue when running Gingerbread or when I first got the phone, but even flashing back to stock now doesn't seem to resolve the issue.
Well...wtf?
Mine has been fine until I RELOADED Serendipity VII ROM (Gingerbread). It was fine with S7 until I reinstalled it last night.
YES, I CAN set the clock manually but it has never needed to be set manually. It has always been on "use network provided values" with this phone and every other phone I have ever owned.
There have been a few others with the same problem.

Hmm. It seemed to have corrected itself for a couple of hours this morning, then it was back to being 4 hours off. Just a few minutes ago, the time is back to normal again. I have no idea.

Another brilliant question. It shows GMT -4 because of DST. I don't have an image to explain the level of obviousness here, sorry.

Thank you for not understanding my post at all. Why don't you share your answer with the ongoing general thread on this issue? I'm sure they'll be satisfied with your explanation of DST.

My post is about the incorrect time bug being talked about now in the general forum. I'm sorry that you're so stupid that I had to spell it out for you again. Begone, troll.
I had a similar problem with timezone issues and was told to put it in manual mode and then back for it to correct itself. This never worked on a back and forth flip but putting it in manual mode overnight and then back did for some reason. Not the best answer but worth a try. My issue has never returned since.
So, about 2 or 3 days ago I downgraded back to Froyo from the latest Gingerbread leak (too many bugs.) I did so with GTG's Ulimate unbrick, and then I flashed the pre-rooted/ pre-CWM stock ROM to it. I updated to the latest UCKH1 to be up to date, and then I restored a backup I made in ROM Manager a few weeks back. After that, I restored all my apps with Titanium backup. Now on to the issues. First time around my phone literally crapped out software-wise. It was literally force closing everything, texting wouldn't work, the Advanced power menu was gone except for Power Off. That only started after a full day of use with no issues whatsoever. It was completely random. Well late last night, I factory reset and put my apps back on again. Well I woke up this morning to find that my phone's suddenly being dumb again. Except this time the only issues that I know of are, the Advanced power menu's gone except for Power Off, and the home button will not function AT ALL. If anyone has any idea what's going on, or how I can resolve this, please lend a hand.

It sound like every time you encountered a problem it was after restoring your app with TiBu. Are you just restoring apps or apps&data? See how your phone runs without restoring apps. Try restoring apps(without data) and see what happens, or just manually download apps again. Could be a problem with data from the apps.

I was wondering the same. I have indeed been restoring apps with data. Didn't want to lose my Cut the Rope progress But, they may end up being my problem. I've always gotten away without issues, so I guess it's about time for one to happen, haha. I'll try it out after work today and post how it goes.

Most likely the problem lies with the backups being from a GB rom and now you are trying to put them an a Froyo rom. Probably saves it differently or something.
They tell you "Not" to use the backups from Titanium as they can cause issues, I reinstalled back to Stock Froyo as well running the latest UCKH1, When you do the Update to UCKH1 my advice is to go to Settings: Privacy: and do a Factory reset to fix the clock problem The clock will appear screwed up and will correct itself even when it's on Automatic Mode. Otherwise all is fine downgrading from GB Rom. Install all normal apps as usual, Screw Titanium my advice is just save the .apk file for the app in a Folder on your External SD Card, that's my quick way of reinstalling all my apps back regardless of losing settings.
you can also use tibu to restore single apps with data, you can try the ones you want to save progress and see if it causes issues. just stay away from system apps
I've never ha a problem with TitBU, as long as I restored "missing apps & data" ONLY!
same here, regardless of android version or even restoring on a different device. the only time i have seen issues is when i accidentally hit restore all apps with data, including system apps. thats when i got the constant fc and crashing

You know, now that I think about it I actually made a backup from UCKJ2. That's more than likely my problem. Funny how I'm looking for all these complicated things and it ends up being something easy. Haven't restored anything, so I'll wait a day or two and see if everything stays like it should, and then I'll restore only what's needed to ensure it stays that way. Sorry it took so long to respond, had work, haha. Thanks guys all the responses were much appreciated.

You should be alright as long as you don't restore data. I think. Lol

I reinstalled my stock firmware last night with odin (or atlease i think i did..i notice things like my modded recovery still in the system/bin folder, etc) all is working fine but the time seems to change at times, specially after a reboot. I have to go to setting and toggle the the automaic network time box for it to correct the time. my texts are ALL mixed up now due to this. Anyone have any idea whats causing this or how it can be fixed?
I always have this issue as well when I go back to stock, and so far has always been corrected with a factory restore. I consider it the final step when going back to stock now. Hope this helps.
Hello,
My phone has been doing this weird thing where my system time would go back about 20 days. This would occur randomly and for some reason would only occur in the morning around 7-9am(pacific time). Eventually it would revert back to normal. It is extremely annoying when it happens because:
- My morning alarms create about 20 instances of themselves.
- Games dependent on system time(Happy Street, Farmville, etc.) think I'm cheating and I can't play them anymore.
- My android tasker resets and causes my phone turn off silent mode while I'm at work.
My phone specs are:
Verizon Galaxy S3(SCH-I535)
Synergy Rom v1.7(Android 4.0.4)
There are some things that may need to be considered such as:
- I upgraded from Synergy 1.6 to 1.7 w/o doing a full wipe. Just your typical cache wipes.
- I have android tasker v1.3.1m
- I tried doing the GPS fix on the android development forum. Since then, I have had trouble with syncing to my google account. Random disconnects, etc.
I'm trying to figure out if any one of these may be the cause, but I vaguely remember the exact date I updated to 1.7 or when I tried doing the GPS fix. Any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance.
So I turned off android tasker to see if this incident would happen again and it did occur again. I can mark off android tasker as the cause of this.

I would revert back (you did make a backup , right?) if you have a nandroid backup restore it if no backup factory reset and flash the old 1.6.
Then if you still have the problem you've ruled out just about everything you've said you did and you may have some bad HW.
Did you try to fix permissions? It is a long shot, but, you never know.....

Thanks for the suggestions, though I would like to try and not have to revert to my backup.
However, I did find that after uninstalling the alarm app I use(alarm droid), my system time did not malfunction so far. I will keep the post up to date on this for the next week or so to see if that may have been the cause.
I'm thinking that when I upgraded to 1.7, my alarm profiles in the alarm droid app may have malfunctioned and thought there was an alarm on a date prior to upgrading. When the alarm would activate, it would change my system time, but after a few seconds would revert to the correct time since it's getting pulled automatically from the network. We shall see.

Don't know why an alarm clock would ever need to change your time but good luck.
If not you can make a backup and then revert. If that doesn't fix you can revert back to the broken one. But going back is the fastest way to figure out if it was your changes or even the ROM that caused the problem.
Piiman you're right, the alarm clock has nothing to do with it. It went back in time this morning again to September 3rd. I will go ahead and try backing up and restoring an older instance of the ROM when I have some extra time on my hands. Thanks for the support and I'll keep everyone up to date on this issue.

That's to bad but good luck with the next step.
It may well be something is broken though HW rise. Normally you would have several reports of the problem if its was a ROM. I can't remember what else you said you changed but if that's un- doable you may want to start there. However like I said previously I'd just revert back. You may even consider going all the way back to Stock, if it happens then you can just call VZW for your replacement.
