About HTC Connection Setup?? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

About HTC Connection Setup
I can't download htc connection setup from Marget place for
unlocking mango by CustClear.provxml method.
Help me plz.
I restored my htc 7 mozrt phone many time but can't unlock anyway.
How to unlock htc 7 mozart without htc connection setup???

I have the same problem,
Unless HTC post it back to marketplace it looks like the only way is to flash a custom rom as my branded rom doesnt come with HTC connection setup preinstalled.

HTC 7 PRO Jailbreak?

Hello,
Today I've bought me a HTC 7 Pro. Now i tried to jailbreak my HTC, but it does not work. Do someone know why?
I had a HTC 7 Mozart, and with this smartphone it has worked. =/
I can install the Certifikate, but when i try to unlock it, i get a the Error:
"Sorry, I'm having trouble communitcating with the phone..Blabla"
But i think it has something to do with the certifikate.
Because if i try it without installing the certifikate its loading 5 sec and then i get an error, but if I installed the certifikate I get instantly an Error message.
Maybe someone has a solution.
Thanks

Did you install the dev tool's cause some need that on their computer, and do you have zune on the background...? Look around the fourms buddy, there's threads about how to do this.
Yes i have Visual Studio Ultimate.
I don't know, because it worked with my HTC 7 Mozart, there i had no problem to jailbreak, and today i wanted to do it in the same way, but it does not work =/
Maybe Chevron is not compatible with the HTC 7 Pro?
Do someone has jailbreaked the HTC 7 Pro?

Flashing HTC Sensation with original ROM?

I am about to buy a HTC Sensation. However, my provider (Swisscom, Switzerland) offers it only with Branding. Is there a way I can flash such a branded device with the original ROM from HTC? Is it available anywhere? Will I have problems because of the signed bootloader? Thanks in advandace for any help!
Currently, the goldcard method doesn't seem to be working. That's the only way to flash an official ROM without having an unlocked bootloader.
So, currently, sadly no way to do it. Hopefully when HTC release an unlocked bootloader for it, we will see changes.

Do you know whether HTC is planning to do so at all? I heard they wanted to make future bootloaders unsigned, but will the Sensation get an "Update" or something like that to have it unsigned?
I asked HTC about how and when the bootloader will be unlocked and they just tweeted me back saying "Good question. More specific details will be shared soon."
So yeah... :/

Hello,
Got a HTC Sensation from Swisscom and I'm wondering the same, any news on this?
I tried an update found on the forum: version 1.35.401.1, tried to install and said 'wrong client id'... Didn't update.
Just sent a request to HTC customer support to know if I'll get the OTA... But I don't expect much from this.
If I can't unlock and root this phone I'm gonna get rid of it and will never get a HTC again, that's one sure thing. Already regret having bought it, should have waited for it to be unlocked first!

You'll have to wait for HTC to unlock the bootloader (or for AlphaRev to do that before HTC). Expect HTC do provide the full unlock in September.
PS. I bought it unbranded meanwhile.

Debrand possible after s-off?

Hi guys.
Currently have a dhd but o2 have offered me an early upgrade.
So I'm getting a Sensation next week. In the past they've sent me unbranded handsets & some branded.
Just wondered that once the s-off method has been made public, would one still be able to Debrand & use custom roms as I have been on dhd?
My apologies for the lack of knowledge. Just that I've not had to make goldcards etc on dhd as that came unbranded from o2.
I'm sure someone will make a guide etc.. Xda is very helpful like that
Thanks Y'all
AJ.

After S-OFF you can flash any rom you like, so you can definately debrand your phone.
The only branding on my o2 sensation was the wallpaper, I haven't checked the simlock yet but I assume its locked to o2
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Normally at germany HTC sim lock isnt allowed. I believe its the same for Eu devices

Hi guys what I mean is o2 & other networks have a different software number to the official htc one.
So even if I do have an o2 branded handset, once the s-off method is here can I just proceed with goldcard, then downgrade & straight into a LeeDrOiD rom?
I was lucky with my dhd from o2 as this one kept the original htc software version & not o2's own.
Thank you for the advice & help guys =)
I was so happy when phones4u gave me an unbranded one! Orange generally put loads of ****e on the phones!

We don't know the process yet. Downgrade was specific to dhd for an exploit for radio s off.
Simply put though, once you have s off you can flash any rom.

[Q] HTC Sensation on Vodafone

Hi all, I am a complete Android noob and am looks for some answers.
I currently own a HTC Sensation Z710e that came with my contract on Vodafone and I am intrested in performing the whole S-Off and root thing, my question is though since I seen on the HTC Dev site that there is an EU version and a Vodafone version of the Sensation, I wanted to know if rooting on my phone would work and would I be able to install standard Senstation custom ROM's, would they install just fine or would there be issues with things such as calling or texting people? Would I need to change the radio settings around or something, if so how?
I just used the htc dev site just to see about how it works and I am probably going to use revolutionary.
I am running Android 2.3.4
You can tell I am not yet fully experienced when it comes to Android, so could I have some general tips and guidelines when it comes to modding my Sensation please.
Thanks for the help!
Yes when you root it and S off you can use any compatable rom - also unlcok the Sensation for free as well.
My phone came from Orange - S off CoreDroid for me and unlocked its
Marvellous sorry Sensational, now on Virgin
If you can read and follow instructions it's easy.
Use the guide here

Okay cheers guys.

[Resolved] Please help me :-( HTC HD2)

Just a quickie (they are sometimes best )
I have an HTC HD2 and I have had it unlocked to any network, I am now on O2 from T-Mobile.
I want to know if I update the Rom with the legit one from the HTC website, will the phone still be unlocked, or does it revert it back to the original network?
Thank you and help appreciated
