Hi I am having trouble installing roms on my g2x. I currently have 2.3.3 and have rooted the phone and flashed clockworkmod 5.0. After this i tried flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274
using the method and it said file cannot be found when i click on the folder in directory.
I also tried the darksinister_1.3.zip but no luck.
Is it the CWM or the rom? I also tried extracting the files on pc and transfering them on sd card and opening them through CWM. Would appreciate if someone can tell me how to install one of these froyo roms.
Where did you put your file? CWM 5.0.x.x has it's backup in _externalsd>clockworkmod>backup

So I'm rooted and that OCLF installed. The update failed but says my firmware is JH7, but it's didn't really change all the way. I have run a Clockworkmod backup and downloaded the JH7.OTA.zip to my internal sd card.
I'm a noob when it comes to flashing Rom's so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Do I need to take it back to JH6 using Odin or can I just use ROM manager and install from sd card?
Thanks in advace.
So I rooted my phone using unrevoked and all was fine, flashed a few roms and kernals, and i wanted to create an ext partition so i formatted the 8gb micro sd card and used easus to try and seperate it, this did not work so i reformatted it using android, i coppied all files back over and went into recovery to try a diffrent rom ( Currently on oxygen v2.0 RC7) but when i went to choose a zip file clockworkmod showed up saying no files found even though all the files are visible in android and astro, so i reformatted again using android and windows same problem both times, so i thought it might be clockworkmod problem, so i tried to reflash it and didnt work again, so i tried flashing the amon ra recovery but that just didnt flash at all (using unrevoked) when i came back onto oxygen v2.0 , superuser permissions does not work and fc's all the time so i cannot use rom manager or any terminal console
i'm having a similar issue.
Ive only flashed my phone a few times and they were all through rom manager.
So if I manually download the rom to flash, I would then transfer it to the root of my sd card, but what if there is already an update.zip file on the root? Is that basically the last rom I flashed? So it would be ok to overwrite it?
Thanks, just wanted to save the process of unbricking solely for saving time with trial and error.
Thanks much

Do not delete the update.zip. If you downloaded a rom it will be named something else.
thanks much.
I am going to try the doctorz rom, looks neat.
Instead of using the apply update.zip option in cwm use the choose zip from SD card and navigate to where it is.

Hello, my phone is rooted and unlocked but unfortunately I'm stuck without a way to rom my phone back to operation (4.0.4). I made the mistake of not keeping a backup or rom on my internal sdcard . Clockworkmod doesn't seem to work when you try and mount the sdcards in recovery
I decided to try the jellybean rom which for some reason doesn't have the play store on it which I cannot install astro so I can copy a new rom over within the os.
I didn't leave any roms on my internal sd card , I cannot mount the internal or external sdcard CWM recovery to copy a new rom and install (running 6.0 CMW) , I've attempted to find a solution to flashing ANY rom back onto my phone via ODIN but no luck.
are their roms available in md5 / tar format that I've overlooked?
Thank you so much!
You may need to flash with a PIT file included with stock rom tar. Look around for a PIT FILE. I don't know if anyone has one posted

did you download GAPPS??? thats probably why you dont have a play store
^^^^^^ that's probably true. If you want to change roms with Odin, there are a handful of Odinable files around. Do you want to go back to an unrooted or rooted rom? Also, what happens when you try to access your SD card (internal or external) from CWM? And where did you get the CWM you are currently running?
There are links to ODINable stock images and the like at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709. You should be able to restore your phone to an out-of-the-box state with the information and directions provided.
just do a quick search
Well... I downloaded Gin2Jellybean rom and installed via cwm. However, I was on ICS. Now My Wi-Fi doesn't work and I can't go into cwm to restore my ics backup. No computer can recognize my device for even flashing a new rom. What should I do? D< .

You need the correct drivers.
Use bluetooth to transfer a flashify apk(Get the app from the market here on another phone and take the apk from /data/app and transfer with bluetooth)to your phone.
Then install the flashify apk on your phone that has no wifi, Then find a way to transfer files to your phone's micro sd card (Using another phone as a reader etc.)
This can be done with any app that you find, Example : Rom manager.
If flashify is of no help then try this with rom manager.
Obtain a cwm image from somewhere(Use method of moving micro sd card to another phone) and flash that using rom manager.
