Hi there,
I wonder why there is no fring for android. There is a big thread in their forums:
http://www.fring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8336
(unfortunatly the Blackberry thread is bigger :ugly)
Maybe the dont get enough feedbacK from the android community?! So what do you xda-developer members with an android device think about an online petition?
Alternativly you can hammer their "Your handset is not supported ... yet." form:
http://reg.fring.com/app/newhandset... your Email Addres&country=Enter Your Country
You probably have to choose the G1 because its the only Android phone in the list...
Hi There,
Omri from fring here.
We are working on the Android version. It takes time but I can promise you that this version is worth the wait...
Re: Blackberry
Unfortunately it is not possible to develop an application that will play and record audio at the same time on the Blackberry platform, that's the main reason for the lack of a Blackberry version.
I will add a few more Android devices to the waiting list so you can leave your email and we will let you know once it's out.
You can also follow us on twitter for the latest news (@fring) or subscribe to our blog www.fring.com/blog
I'll be around so if you have any questions I'll be happy to assist.
Have a great day.
Omri

Hi Omri,
thank you for your answer. Happy to hear that you guys are onto it. I hope that it is going to be a full version, not crap like skype lite (no voice chat) or any other im app for android (which unfortunatly are all not satisfying, regarding function and quality).
Thanks again...
smurf
Thanks for the reply... been waiting for this for a while. Would be interesting to find out the time scale of this!
<disclaimer>
I am sorry if anyone feels this is the wrong place for a post like this, but i didn't find any better place for it and I would like to reach as many compact framework developers as possible.
</disclaimer>
What I want is to inform Norwegian Microsoft compact framework and Windows Phone developers about an initiative, in collaboration with Microsoft in Norway, to establish a Norwegian Windows Phone Developer Community. This is to be a place where windows mobile and compact framework developers can meet, showcase and discuss mobile solutions and development.
We want this to be a community for developers by developers and so, we hope as many as possible would like to help out. If you are located in Norway and want to participate, either just to learn and meet other developers or to help build and create the community, we'd like to know Our first meetup is set to be on Thursday, December 3rd 2009 and we have set up a meetup.com site for the community (http://www.meetup.com/Windows-Phone-Developer-Community)
It's not intended to be a replacement for this or other forums, but rather an extension.
Hi guys,
just to let you know that Orange (big european Telco operator) is finally looking for great Apps in order to feed its multi-countries Application Shop.
I'm not an Orange employee, I'm just trying to help developers to get more visibility on such markets and to be treated like they should.
SOUNDS LIKE IT IS TIME TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF !!
Don't miss this opportunity to show them who you are and what you're developing or have already develop for Apps.
If you're interested in getting more visibility, I'm waiting for your replies in this thread. You can also send me a direct message on Twitter (camillebosquet) with a screenshot of your App.
Looking forward to speak with you ; )

Is this a Europe only thing? I am in the US and it is not a choice...
Ok, thought I would attempt to register anyways, and yeah.. USA people can just ignore this, not available.

Allready registered but no reply at all. Was a beta tester on blackberry. Couldnt get telmap.on android so moved to Aura GPS. But would be happy to use telmap again on my phone. Was awesome piece of software and actually worked.
Hi I am in Singapore, be happy to be your tester if you want. I am on android.
Does not work on my Galaxy S, loads a long time, and gets an internal error..
Where is the link for it?
Does this has support for 2.2.1 and Galaxy S?

Got it to work. Im on galaxy s 2.2.1. Nice UI, but kind of slow on maps loading when traveling.
signed up and downloading now. looking forward to testing!
No support for Portuguese users? Nice marketing approach!... -.-'

Anybody running this GPS already? Is it an online or offline GPS program? I'm from Belgium and data plans are WAY too expensive here to be downloading maps for GPS the entire time...
Also, is there a possibility to load POI's ? Most importantly speedcams offcourse...
it is an online mapping system.
speedcams are listed in the options, but i haven't taken it for a spin yet to find out if they are live!
if you want an offline nav program, i recommend copilot in the market (i mainly use that)
Hi Devs,
www.phases.dk/en is a danish company finding the right it solutions for our customers.
We are searching for app developers as we have run into a bunch of exciting app jobs.
We are looking for Android and iOS developers - both offsite and onsite (onsite would be in Denmark or Kochi (India))
We are also doing some big projects where we need a ROM cooker to build a custom Android ROM for a tablet.
The projects is among others for example learning apps for education which will be shared free on the android market - so here is your chance to make your hobby/passion change the world in some way.
Are you one of the above please contact us here:
www.phases.dk/en/contact
Remember to mark it as "Job at Phases".
I have been reading the rules of XDA and couldn't really find anything about posting jobs in here - if it's not cool or allowed please let me know and I'll remove it.
Lastly a big thanks to XDA for this great place - we are running custom Android ROMs on our smartphones and feel a lot cool'er than all the "standard" Iphone business people out there
