Transparent Icon App - HTC Sensation

Hello there, i dont know how to explain this so please bear with me,
i was wondering is there any file out there that will give me a see through background when a App is pressed, as i really i don't want to see any background colour when for instance my twitter app is pressed.
I really hope that makes sense.
thanks

I believe that is a setting in ADW launcher ex. Might be in launcher pro too.

Can I make the icons bigger on my Nexus One with Froyo?

Ie, bigger icons and less space between them.
Yes, I did the search and read the answers and nothing that I can find. I'm happy with the icons but I want them bigger and less wasted space.
THanks
George
Are you allowed to bump posts which I just did?
Have you tried http://www.appbrain.com/app/lcd-density-changer/com.beansoft.lcd_density_changer ?
No but looking at it, it seems it's doing the opposite of what I want.
Thanks though
George
You can resize icons with launcher pro

How's that done? I can't figure out anyway in launcher pro to change icon sizes.
Cheers

No you can't.
im looking for this as well.the only thing that i don like about android its icon size.yesterday i installed miui and saw that it had larger icons than stock android icon size it looks wicked.i tried lcd density changer but didnt like it coz its not compatible with some programs.widgets or something are so long way.you must resize and put the widgets one by one.
Use Desktop visualizer...?
And you can resize with launcher pro, if you have the plus version.
how do you resize icon with the plus version? I can't seem to find that option anywhere..
Download "Multicon" from the market then find out how.

You can't resize icons in LauncherPro Plus, you can only resize widgets. Besides, I think this person wants to make their icons bigger yet keep them within the restraints of a 1x1 area.
Multicon can do that. Just select one column by one row and select your app.

[Q] launcher pro, how to change application backgrounds

Erummm. Right now when I hit that middle icon to show all the applications on the phone, the background is black. I want the background to be clear or something else. Any ideas ?

I don't think that is possible unless you go into the .apk and edit some files.
So far I only know that ADWLauncher is capable of doing that...
If you made the backgrounds clear how would you differentiate them from anything else? I think it would be a mess. Although you should be able to do it by altering the Launcher apk that you use.

[Q] Is this possible??

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a "stock" rooted D2G and use LauncherPro. Is there an app or trick or something else that will allow you to put a two line name under an app icon on a homescreen or make the character lengths consistent?
For example, under my Folder Organizer icon, it says "Folder O" with the O cut in half. What's interesting is Timeriffic (which I don't even use, but notice the amount of characters) has the full name under its icon.
BTW I really like my new font and rather not change it and I know I can just have icons with no text, but like the text, but not with a bunch of partial names.
So is there such thing or something that will equalize the character playing field since I can easily adjust names in Desktop VisualizeR?
Thx!!
Forget launcher pro... use adw ex Launcher... it has the answer to each and every question of yours... njoy..

Thanks. Does it really have all those capabilities? Reason being, I literally tried ADW a half dozen different times and I really liked some of the features, but I really didn't like the dock bar and that it doesn't run nearly as smoothly as LP does on my D2G for some reason.
Can you post a screen shot of your problem? It would be easier for me to understand... and adw is awesome.. it has many customisations...
You can also change the density of your screen to make it a little more compact.. so that every thing fits into it....

Ok... now i see whats your prob.. i think there is nothing that can give a double line icon name.. but there is an option in ADW EX LAUNCHER... under UI SETTINGS-> ICONS -> select new icons.. ->. Go to icon settings.. there you can modify the size of icon and text lable of it... i would also recommend you to change your dextop columns from 5 to 4.. maybe i would bring a change, as it would get more space..!

Here, have a look at my screen... i am using adw ex Launcher... the plus point in ADW EX is that when you long press the icons, you can edit the icon, and also rename it as desired, so in your case you can make the name of the icon short to fit in that place...! Cool isint it? Like in the pic..one icon has full name of OI FILE MANGER which as you can see ia half cut... and in the other i have edited the name to just FM..! Hope you got my point..!
Hit thanks if helped..!

Thanks. FYI I just changed from 4 to 5 columns and there wasn't much difference in the labels. I guess I'll either have to wait for LP to allow such customization OR I'll have to live with it.
Thanks again for your help!!

I get your point and it is nice that you can edit labels and icons like that in ADW, but unfortunately the dock bar flexibility and more importantly the fact that ADW is not nearly as smooth on my phone as LP, keeps me with LP.
Thanks again for your help and patience!
Desktop Visualizer allows you to edit the labels, no need to switch launchers.
Here is the screen shot... sorry the previous one was a mess..

Thanks. I mentioned that in the OP, but it still locks me into a certain amount of characters and a second label line would make my homescreeens that much nicer.

[REQUEST] Special Launcher for Widgets

I have a lot of widgets and lot of them are fullscreen widgets.
They need a lot of space and a lot of homescreens and switching between that many screes is a hell lot tedious.
I would suggest some developer to try making a launcher with following feature.
Icons for widgets. Click the 1x1 icon to see the full widget.
Others may put their ideas too...

Changing the icons in the app drawer?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows of an app which can change the icons in the app drawer? I've tried many apps but all they do is change the home screen icons. Any help on how to do this would be very much appreciated.
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
This function may be possible by switching to a different launcher, but I do not know which launcher would be capable of doing this. Usually the images in the drawer are read directly from the apk, and the apps which change the icons on the home screen can get around this by making a widget with the specified icon, which points to the application.
If there are only a few applications you want changed, it is possible to change them the hard way, by extracting the apk, changing the icon in the "/res/drawable-?dpi" folder, and then installing the new application by hand. (It will no longer be signed, so you will have to go to allow this in Settings > Applications > Unknown sources)
I don't think any launchers are capable of changing app drawer icons. Looks like I may have to do it the hard way

You can use go launcher which has option to change icons.. All U need is an icon pack..

Launcher pro can change app drawer icons,as can adw launcher. Just get an icon pack...or better still, make one. It's easier with launcher pro.

I'm using adw launcher and it can't change the icons. I have a really cool icon pack, and it changes the icons... but not all of them.. so everything doesn't match. On adw you can't manually change the icons of an individual app. I'll give launcher pro a go

Try LiveHome. With this launcher, you can manually change the icon and also label name of any app in appdrawer.
Cheers man. It won't recognise my icon pack though, but still, it's the first launcher I've seen that can change the app drawer icons

When i press long a Icon in the Drawer this comes direct on my Desktop, no Options , the Options are only at the Desktop!
Why ??
Nova launcher just got an update, now to change an app drawer icon (to a picture from gallery and hence a uzip, or from an apk) long press on the app icon in the draw. Drag it to the edit symbol. Click the app icon in the edit popup. Choose icon as desired!
