Hello guys,
I got this weird problem with my new nexus s phone... everytime i get out of my house i losse the wireless and when i come back the phone just keeps looping at trying to obtain an ip address from my belkin router... after 5 minutes trying to get one in this endless loop i have to turn off my router and turn on again and then it picks up and ip again... any of this sounds like a problem with my phone or with my router?

Probably broadcasting on a channel which Android has disabled for your country. Switch to a channel between 1 and 12 on your router, may need to take off auto. An app like Wifi Analyzer should be able to see the network no problems.
Its on channel 11. My old was on 11 too but it worked...

Be sure your router was configured to WPA/WPA2 security, not WEP,and that the router is visible (Wireless SSID : ON) .

Wifi issues

I just got my 7.0 and love it but the wifi keeps disconnecting. It'll reconnect but it messes up my downloads. Does his seem to be a problem with the 7.0 or did i just get a bum model?

did you updated your tab?
Try removing n/w and re enter wep/wpa key...
It should work
As i know their are some problem with routers with 5 ghz channels so try the 2.4 ghz channel and see if the condition resolved also try a different channel to broadcast by you router as channel 8 or 13 etc and see if connection improved or not if you could try it with different router and different connection as in your friend connection to see if connection still drops or not if still drops then return with warrany if no warrany may be you could think about flashing modem files by odin but i think it needs somewhat experienced users and may void warrany

Wifi not "connecting."

Hi, I hope somebody can help me out. I have been unable to connect online for about a month now to my wifi. When I select the connection, it shows me full bars on the settings page but nothing afterwards.
I have no trouble connecting other devices to my wifi & right now it's just an expensive paperweight. I have no problems tethering with my phone & when I'm at the library with my pad, there are no problems connecting.
Nothing is customized & I'm on 4.2

I would try to disable password on your router and see if your tablet will connect then. If it does you might need to change the encryption on your router. Check what it is. If its WEP then change it to WPA2. Wifi doesn't have the best standards that are always followed by manufacturers and as a result sometimes things just won't connect.

I have to reboot my router after changing ROMS sometimes . Have you tried rebooting the router or maybe even resting it?

That most definitely has to do with your router. Check if you can connect to another device that has uses wifi (Xbox, iPod touch, TV, laptop) & if the wifi is working fine there. It could also be that you put in the wrong password for the wifi on your tablet, & it is reading the connection, but not actually connected.

Hi, thank you for the suggestion. I changed the security from WEP to WPA2 & I was able to reconnect my tablet with no problems.

My wifi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

Ever since my device got bricked and flashed the the original firmware, my connection on wifi keeps disconnecting and reconnects even though im like 10 feet away from my router. This bothers me because I cant play online games. Is there anyway to fix this?

I suggest you turn off your router (or also disconnect the cord) for 30 seconds, turn off your WiFi on your phone, then plug it back in and turn on your WiFi again and check. Otherwise it might be a phone problem.
I'll give it a try
...When im connected to other wifi network this doesnt happen.

You should consider buying a new Wireless Router which is more powerful. As your statement, that this issue doesn't happen in other WiFi network, try to check the speed of your internet, traffic, etc.

try to forget the network, restart your phone and connect again.

So the issue must be the communication between your phone and the device. Try to restart the phone, or remove your wifi, and then enable it again.
try this
go to settings> WiFi > advance > keep WiFi on during sleep > select always on
I tried, the problem is still there

problem solved and a question-why does unstable wifi mess with usb?
My phone kept getting disconnected from my computer. This was apparently happening because my wifi was unstable. Not sure why the phone disconnected, I was connected via usb. The wifi was unstable because I was using a proxy. When I use my comcast connection straight through the problems go away. If someone can explain why an unstable wifi can screw up a usb connection I'd be grateful. Windoze issues?

Wi-Fi issues on CM11

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my Tab's wifi. It stays connected for a bunch of minutes, then it disconnects and I have to reboot my tablet to make it work again. Sometimes, it reconnects right after, but the wifi icon is orange, not white. Not sure if that's causing the problem, but I use Connectify on my Windows 8 laptop, but I never had those issues with CM10.1. If that helps, I can generate a logcat, so you guys can try to detect what's going on.

Quick update: just got in my friends' house and I've been using their router for 15 minutes. No issues for now. I'm starting to believe that Connectify is the culprit. Maybe a logcat can still help?
