[Q] Battery - EVO 3D to DZ?? - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

Hi,
Sorry for making a mess in other thread.
Has anyone tried the Evo 3D battery for DZ?
How does it fit in how does it work like with DZ?
I'm trying to get an original (extended life) HTC battery for my DZ but without a need to mod the battery itself nor the battery cover.
The official (polish) HTC accesories store says that an EVO 3D battery can be use as replacement for Desire device. I recon it might be just a description error but maybe someone had a chance to try this out?

i think it fits. BUT i'm not sure

It will not fit. This has different shape - square, and desire Z battery is rectangle.
Try better find some replacement, but I think that useless.
I have stock battery and on phone currently 2430mAh GOLD Battery (thinest that same, that original) and on stock battery or replacement, phone works that same.

What I'm after is an original replacement from any other HTC device but with more mAh that would fit in DZ.

1st - look on ebay UK
2nd - jak piszesz po angielsku, a nie umiesz, to nie staraj się zachować formy, bo z ledwością zrozumiałem oco ci chodzi.
3rd - Incredible S got that same battery as Desire Z.

Incredible S/Droid Incredible
2 are your only perfect replacements, I believe. Battery is 1450mAh compared to 1300 stock.

I bought an Incredible S original battery for 1/4 the price of Mugen. Got it yesterday and it fits perfectly without any mods.
Will format it few times and check on it's improvement.

I'm curious why no mods? Most aftermarket require you clip a tiny tab, and maybe remove the plastic cover that's it. It'll take you 5 minutes if that! Lol

HTC TOUCH PRO 2 batteries work with htc g2
I bought on ebay an htc tp2 and a battery pack of 3 spare batteries and charger. I compared one battery with the the htc g2 battery and it is the same.. only diference is that htc tp2 battery is 1500 mah and it will fit if you grab a wire cutter and cut the border on the battery near where it will conect to the phone. This way it will fit in there. Now this is good for someone like me who has a TOUCH PRO 2 and a G2. The only bad thing is that the battery cover wont hold it would pop out because it is a litle bigger than the original, I have a cover on my phone which I can put it with out battery cover and it will hold everything in place. It seems that HTC batteries are compatible with all htc devices in which they fit even if modified to fit. LOL

can you post some photos?

one word, mugen

Seidio Extended Battery

Hi.. this is for sale on Ebay. What you think, worth to buy?
Its a Seidio 1600 ma battery that fits in without new back cover... £28...
###Edit### I checked Seidio's website and theres no battery for Desire... so this must be for Nexus One. Just wonder they really are 100% compatible? ##
T-mobile promised to send me a new one, but they are out of stock so they refunded my accounr with £20 to buy one on my own. Not sure if this one is good/safe etc...(?)
Thanks

Seems good 'on paper'. But I never understood why a phone's manufacturer wouldn't supply a device with the highest capacity possible (with the same size) unless it had 'adverse' effects on something, no matter how small.

Keep cost down, like not providing a case or docking station.
Just wonder how much more would the +200 mah do. Seidio seems to be a known brand though - also if it is for Nexus - is it really the same battery?
It does look as though the battery for the Desire is the same as for the Nexus One. Both seem to quote part number BA S410 tor the standard battery.
Tested it - I tried the Seidio Nexus One in the Desire and it works perfectly.
So whats the battery life like then? Is a 14% increase going to be noticed?
What would be great is two batteries in parallel covered by a skin with no back plate!

just found this as well for nexus. Hope it helps till we get a definite answer

TBH id want one of these

Wow seems like the 3200 has amazing battery life but everyone is complaining about the back cover.
Im sure this would work fine in the desire - just need a skin which will cover it without the backplate on at all but with lens cover and we are all sorted!
you know what?? i need clarity on extended life battery so bear with me. Does this go ontop of normal battery hence doubling life. or is it just a bigger capacity replacement battery so longer battery.
Sorry i just needed a bit of clarity
it has the same width/height as standard battery (fits in slot) but double the thickness almost like to stacked on top of each other in parellel. That means the original backing plate wont fit on anymore so they supply a replacement.
Checkout the video from the nexus one forum

1600 one. Not sure about 3200.
Has anyone seen skins with camera lenses?
Could you pls let us know if the 1600 one is worth to get? Is there any real difference? Thanks
it´s same the battery of the nexus and desire ?¿?¿
thanks
Ordered one but the daft ebay seller sent me the standard HTC battery!
which battery did you order? 1600??

[Q] Is the battery the same as the Desire?

I already have a Desire with spare battery, so if I could use these in the Desire Z that would be ideal. Anyone know if the spec is the same?
ARgh, the batteries have different part numbers. HTC, why do you do this to me!
Greed. Yeah, that about sums it up.
Yeah I wanted to use my fat extended battery on this thing
No, really.
How do they make any other money if they're giving devices that are sharing the same battery?
the battery is different because the space is different.
the part where is the battery is placed, is thinner than the desire.
What about the EVO 4G battery. My buddy has the EVO and his battery is the same exact size as mine is for the DZ. He has the Seidio extended 1750 and all the connectors match up also. Of coarse I'm scared to take a chance.. LOL

check the chargers, not the batteries
if both chargers coincide (same output volts and mAmperes) then they should be swappable

Don't think so. I just tried to put my buddies EVO battery in. As they DO look the same and are physically the same size with the pins in the right place, the connectors on the 2 ends are different as you can see from the pic. This is what's stopping the battery from going into the DZ which I did try but it will not stay in place. (EVO batt to the left, Desire Z batt to the right.)

The Evo battery looks slightly thicker, just slightly, the tolerances on these phones are so tight im pretty sure that it wont fit. Damn, this sucks, i really wanted more than just 1300mAh.

On eBay there are several sellers offering 1500mAh batteries for the Z/G2 (like this including docking)- are these any good, you think? Anyone tried any of these and compared to stock battery?
On the battery itself it says it's compatible to Desire Z, Vision and BB96100 (BlackBerry?).

From a quick Google it shows that BB96100 is not BlackBerry but the model number of the battery.
http://www.wirelessground.com/htc-vision-battery.html
It is also 1300mAh
Is this higher than the Z battery?
anyone got type nr from bat for me?looking online to get bat with bigger mah but need type nr for search...dotn have device jet but im not sattisfied with 1300mah...many thnx in advance

for some reason, I never trust 3rd party capacity... most of them are over-rated.
Later I am planning to get the Mugen batteries. Its 1800mAh.
Edit: I just found out that they have 3600mAh battery as well. Although, that one will make your desire fatter.

Battery

The battery on the G2 looks almost the same as then one from the Touch Pro 2. Are they the same? I don't have my Touch Pro 2 anymore.
I did a comparison at the corp store. It's a bit thicker (you can feel with finger).
All you have to do is to flip the battery and cut the corner by the connectors, but the thickness may block the back cover even though it's 0.3mm thicker.
Good to know. The G2 might actually use the same battery as the HTC Eris and Dinc. Anybody can confirm that? I want to pick up a couple of batteries and a charger on ebay but don't want to pay a premium price just because they are listed for the G2 only.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
Damn HTC , may wanna check the form factor of the battery it self.
I have a mytouch slide which has the same battery as the g2, 3.7v dc 1300mah
Thing is, not only would you have to flip it face side down to align with the pins, but the nub is backwards making the ass end of the battery stick out a bit too much, dunno what snappin that lil peace off would so as Im not a battery geek, and Im not sure how far the cells inside and its caseing are etc :\

Really if i last till 4pm that is like heaven for me. I have charger in my car and work but still i hate that i have to keep my phone on the charge all the time I will be looking for a 1800 battery to replace the OEM battery
Here's to that.
Haven't had my G2 long, but the few days I have I've been around 20-25% at 5pm. I take it off the charger at 6am when I head to work.
Used a 2300mAh in my G1 - it spoiled me!
So I'm guessing no one has any information regarding if there is any extended batteries for the G2 yet? I just got my G2 yesterday and I pulled it off the charger this morning at 6:30 a.m for it to be dead by 4:30 p.m. I definitely want something to last a little longer than that.
As far as I've seen, there aren't any extended batteries yet. But the phone did just come out. It's going to take the case/accessories/battery companies a few weeks to get stuff shipping, I would assume.
If the battery in the G2 is the same as the one in the Droid Incredible (I am just speculating, they both seem to have the same specs), there is a slim extended 1750 mAH from Innocell on the seidio website.

Don't waste your time with the Seidio extended battery. It is nowhere near the 1750 that it is rated at.
Take a look at this thread: http://androidforums.com/incredible-accessories/98877-seidio-liar-liar-your-pants-fire.html
I can confirm that the Dinc battery does not fit into the G2, due to the tabs built into the corners.
Edit: you would also have to put the Dinc battery in upside down to align the contacts.

I remember reading somewhere that the G2 battery is the same model as the HTC Wildfire battery. Of course I can't find where I read that now. Does anyone know if that's true? I hope so, since G2 batteries on eBay are $30, whereas Wildfire batteries are only 5 bucks.

Actually, upon searching ebay for "HTC vision" batteries Wildfire batteries kept popping up in the titles. Given that there's already extended batteries for the Wildfire that don't seem to be out of proportion, I'm thinking I'll be the guinea pig on this one.

Let us know if it fits! If so, what the difference in MaH is as well as real-life percentages please! I'd love to have a slightly bigger battery, just so I can make it through the day with WiFi on all day...
Superfly has reported in the battery thread in General that he is using a Seido from the Incredible. He is reporting nothing but goodness about it. He did have to slighty trim a corner to get it to fit though.

[Q] 1600mah battery?

UK company BMC Digital claims to have a 1600mah battery for the Desire HD... for just 6.50 UKP. That can't be right, surely?
They also have a 1230mAh battery for 16.95 UKP, which seems more believable.
Sorry that I can't post the links yet, as I'm a new user.
The typical capacity of a battery is one thing but what they print on the label is another thing! I think, it's impossible to improve the original battery 1230 mAh about 370 mAh to 1600 mAh and sell it for less than the half price.

I don't think so, the battery have to be relatively the same size as the original battery, especially when the battery cover is used as antenna too.
try here for batteries - including extended one...
here is the link...
go to mugen-power-batteries dot com and then to the htc-desire section...
There is only one in the list.
its 1300mAh for 45$.
Very expensive and not very usefull.
Only 70mAh more -.-
So I used the one that was delivered for a couple of days, and let me tell you it is utter 'DOG-EGG' it doesn't last anywhere near as long as the original, but £6.50 for a spare ain't half bad.

HTC evo shift batteries compatible with htc g2/dz

Hey guys from the g2/dz forums!
The other day i came across a post that said that batteries for the evo shift where compatible with the g2/dz but they didnt show any proof
so later i found this freaking good deal on ebay that comes with 3 1800 mah batteries and a battery charger for a very low price
here is the link
Can someone please confirm this to me before i purchase them please!
I do know G2's batteries work in the Evo Shift. So yeah i would take it shifts batteries will work aswell
I am using an EVO 1800 mah battery in my G2. Get about 1 day and a half on CM7.1.
Ok thanks for the replies!
I guess im buying those batteries!
No don't get these batteries I did and they are not worth it they are at best 900 mah batteries and are way worse than stock and a month after using them they take nearly 8 hours to charge and 2 of them have this weird issue where it will start at 100% and just shut off when you start to do anything on the phone that uses a lot of battery and when you reeboot the phone it will display 17% battery left.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!

Not sure about the reds... for 17 bucks they probably are a knock off, but I am using the white HTC OEM Evo 1800 mah battery. Have been since the G2 came out. Got 2 and charger for $40 and still running great.
i have both an evo shift and a desire z. The batteries look almost exactly the same and the evo shift battery slides right into the desire z without any modification. The only problem is, the door doesnt fully close with the evo shift battery because it is like a hair thicker. I'm sure u can get it to close by pulling off the wrapper... but if you're going to go thru all the effort to mod it, you might as well get an evo battery (which has more mah then evo shift battery) and mod that lol.
i had the evo shift 1500mAh battery it does fit, but the battery door will not close fully. Returned the battery and ordered the HTC Incredible 2 battery 1450mAh perfect fit battery door closed all the way. I was a bit pricey at $30 but its oem.
Well apparently batteries for the G2 are used in many other phones.
This OEM original battery is made and manufactured by HTC and is directly compatible with your HTC devices. The lithium ion technology allows for longer lasting talk and standby times as well as charging with no effect on memory. This 1500 mAh battery is a perfect replacement or spare for your HTC phones.
