After following many guides about how to upgrade to mango I faced another problem.
Using the pdf it tells me I should upgrade to 7401 with the zune beta, however when I update the only firmware available is 7403 so I let it go ahead anyway.
Now I'm stuck on 7403, Zune tells me that 7403 is the latest firmware and that no updates are available. I've reverted to a previous backup then tried again but the same problem occurs.
Can anybody offer any assistance?

7661 is discontinued. Just try to update again and you will get the final version of Mango (7712)!

I am using a HTC HD7 Nodo 7392 unlocked build, If i'm using ansar's method to update my WP7 to 7712 will it remain unlocked?

Still works my way. Just did it to my phone and all my stuff is still there and working. As far as ansars way it probably works its essentially the same thing. But alot more steps.

Left out of that post is the needed update to 4.8 for Zune and Windows phone support tool for the phone to sync with zune after the update and use the backup tool. Whatever zune you have installed will handle the update fine. Its the original mango beta packages found on xda somewhere.
Though I just updated from the other mango beta build I still had to put the custclear.provxml file in the windows directory. Tried without doing that first just to see if it would relock it and it does. Just restored and did the originl way. It would be the same from nodo since the newest beta build replaced the last build in the zune phone update. U could use the files from windowsphonehacker.com which is the easiest actually to set everything up if you dont already have the files for the mango update itself.
What happens when the official mango update is release.....do we have to downgrade our unofficial 7712 build? or restore backup?
I just recieved a softward update from zune firmware is 4.8.2345.0 anyone else ? BY THE WAY IT NO LONGER SAY TEST

yes I got it... and i wanted to do a backup like i have been doing... now i get this msg...
The installed version of ZuneWMDU (4.8.2345.0) doesn't match the tool version (4.8.2134.)
so does anyone know where we get this?

Updated too. There's a post on the windows phone blog saying it is to make the Mango update quicker and easier.
I notice when i plugged my phone in after updating Zune some new drivers were installed for the phone.
i hope i will be able to roll back my mango beta to nodo with this new zune...
edit: and yes i have the restore or roll back in the new zune.....
mine prompted me to go back to the previous backup so you should be ok going back to nodo. I got my zune update through windows update

No, this is for the desktop client. Nothing to do with the phone. It's just to get you ready for the Official Mango release, when it comes. Zune 4.7 can't communicate with Mango.
Hi folks, there are many threads about updating to Mango so I want a simple and clear post so everyone understands it.
7390 -> 7720 unconfirmed
7392 -> 7720 unconfirmed
7660 -> 7720 unconfirmed
7712 -> 7720 success on v1.3, chevron unlocked, samsung tools 0.7 work (preinstalled)
7720 RTM -> 7720 success on v1.3, chevron unlock preserved
I'm v1.3 on AT&T, had 7712 beta ISV and received 3 updates (7720, cleanup and Samsung update). Still unlocked via GPRS settings/unlock.xml (sms xap).
Whole process took about 90 mins.
I have now:
OS Version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision: 2103.11.8.1
Hardware revision: 3.1.0.7
Radio software: 2103.11.8.1
Radio hardware: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader: 5.8.0.2
Chip SOC: 0.36.2.0
if you started from the versions above, please confirm success and unlock status. Also include any others versions I haven't, and I will update
Ideally: OS version (7xxx), success or not, hw version (1.3/1.4), matching or not final revision numbers (just list differences for firmware, radio software/hw etc)

If it's the Samsung Update, you will be unlocked afterwards.
Alternatively, you can install WP7 Root tools, it works in Mango.

Wp7 root tools alpha 0.5 just does not work for me ... and the thread says coming soon for Mango .. which version are you referring to ?
Is it advisable to first install Mango RTM to get the official release of Mango for Focus 1.4 ? Or will it be risky?

Both methods imply more or less the same thing, from a technical perspective.
I suggest you update normally, to avoid any possible mishaps as in the Walshed phones. So far, there is no indication that if you force the RTM will be issues afterwards, but I personally wouldn't risk it. The numbers are the same if you do and you will still get the 2 updates from Ms-cleanup/Samsung as posted across the forum. So, your choice.

Somehow I couldn't get the Internet Sharing options in Settings using the regedit.

Thanks, I already updated.
Internet Sharing is only for the newer handsets officially (Omnia and Focus are "old" 7.10). It's been hacked for Omnia 7 and Focus for those unlocked....
hi every one there... i have same problem, i don't have any memory card in it and the phone also don't have anything to back up and i did everything to make it work to update to mango.. but it seems like Zune found update for it but when ever i try to update it, it will restart it and then stuck at Samsung logo...!!??? i try almost everything, read almost all post for focus and try every single trick but it did not work out anything... after update found in Zune phone will restart at step 6 out of 9 step and then stuck at Samsung logo more then 3 hours and it will not start. i have to take out phone battery to restart it manually but it will not update to 7004....... any solution guys?
i have called Samsung for this 1st they told me it's Microsoft issue but then after little argue they said they will try to repair my phone.... but 1st they have to look for my phone warranty and told me give 48 hours to get IMEI from ATT...
i am still waiting for email... will update once get reply from Samsung...
BUT.. IF ANY ONE ELSE THIS ISSUE??? any fix for this problem? IF YES THEN HOW TO GET IT WORK...your help will kindly appreciate.

I have the omnia 7 and because im impatient, i forced the mango update for my phone. this is because it took ages for them to release the mango update for my phone, i assume its ok for me to reset my phone and update it to the new mango now? my carrier is with orange and because i used the force mango upddate trick i have not received any notice from them saying that the official mango for the omnia 7 is available. so is it safe for me to do so now?

I see no problem there. I did the same thing, then after my carrier released the official update, I flashed back the official, old ROM to my Omnia and then properly updated it over Zune with the official update.
How did you "force" the update? If it was jsut the pull-the-Internet trick, you already have the official bits. If it was anything more drastic, you should use your Zune restore point to roll your phone back to how it was, and then check for official updates. If you don't have a restore point that doesn't inlcude the modifications you made to force the update, you my need to do a hard reset or even flash a stock ROM.
