Is there anyway manual boot into recovery ???
Better to search things a bit more before asking, lord knows I'm getting that a lot, and my deal was a bit more than getting into recovery. ;p
Turn off the phone. Once it's completely off, hold down the up and down volume together, keep them pressed, and press the power button. Let them all go when it first starts up, and it will go into recovery mode. ^..^
did do research but nothing. and i tried but it didnt work also, I thought maybe i was doing it wrong.
have the phone off the press the power and the volume buttons n when the screen flashes let go of the power button becuase u might select with out noticing the reboot button

Hi, I have no idea what the infuse three button trick for CWM is. I know the one for download mode but what bout CWM. I know adb and rom manager but for MIUI need three button. So what is the trick? Thanks!
How is it possible to know download mode before you learn CWM? Anyone care to explain? Anyway it's the power button and the two volume buttons.
Hold both volume buttons and the power button at same time.... Phone will reboot, once you see samsung splash screen let go of power button while still holding both volume buttons.

I know it's Power + Vol Down while booting up to get to the BL, but the soft buttons blink 6 times and then nothing happens.
Then i let go of the buttons, try it again, and nothing happens.
SOmetimes holding Power+volDown works, sometimes it doesnt.
What am i missing here
a program called quickboot. Only works for rooted phones
Or
connect phone to computer
adb reboot recovery
adb reboot bootloader
It's very iffy for me, the best is to use a short cut like quick boot or have an extended power menu. But if you must, power down your device, hold volume down and power for 5 seconds (I countdown like the shuttle is taking off lol) then on 5 release power but hold volume down... Should pop up every time

yea i've been using adb, but that's a hassle when im not at home
i guess i'll be giving the app a shot, but what am i doing wrong with the key presses?
should i do it with the phone off?
while rebooting?
from the OS?
what
how i do it and what i originally read to be the correct button combination is hold down power and volume down for 5 seconds, then release power button while holding volume. should work.

Turn off fastboot in power settings, if it's on when you power off the phone its like sleep, it's not actually off and that would be why it's not working for you.

If you are okay with flashing a better, faster rom compared to stock, CleanROM has this feature from the power menu. Works flawlessly.
Before that, I used adb commands.
I hold down the vol down button, then press and hold the power button for about 2 sec, continuing to hold down the vol down button until you are in the bootloader.
So the vol down button is the trigger for the bootloader.
And you have to have fastboot turned off.

My One S has worked fine until now. Now, however, it suddenly started to reboot nonstop. I get the first two starting screens, then it shuts down, and in a few seconds it starts again. The process continues until the battery is dead. I've tried to hold in the shutdown button for various amounts of time and it leads to the process halting, ie the mobile keeps being off. But once I release the button the process continues once again.
Any ideas?
Can you get in to bootloader?

Hold down Power you will see all 3 keys at bottom flash just keep holding, this should hard reboot
If not reboot device when screen and lights go off hold volume down then factory restore

What else I can do, I'm so panicked at the moment, please help me.
I can't get to the menu screen, it just keeps reloading between htc one s and htc logo please help.
I was having this issue the other day. It took me a while to get it figured out and this thread helped me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459
To get into bootloader was hit and miss for me. I found that the best and most consistent way was to hold down the power + down volume, let go of the power while holding down the down volume after 5 sec and then press the power again then let go of both buttons.
I'm trying volume up, home, and power. No luck. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Got it. Volume up and down at the same time, and the power button. I kept them held down and the phone just kept intermittently vibrating. I had to let off the buttons after the first vibration.
Power on while holding down BOTH volume buttons when NOT plugged into the computer USB (because this is also the way to get into download mode).

Had this problem too when it would just vibrate the whole time. good thing I learned the differences.

I tried this (both volume buttons and power without usb), but it just boots normally. CWM doesnt come up. I'm stuck in a boot loop right now so I can't use my phone unless I can get into CWM.

Pull the battery and put it back in. Then hold vol - & vol + and power until the 'samsung' logo appears. Then release all. I use two fingers to hold both volume buttons and then my thumb for the power button. I've heard of people thinking they are capable of holding both volume buttons with one finger lol and they usually have issues. This is how you get into recovery regardless of whether you have cwm or factory recovery.

Pretty self explanatory post. I'm trying to boot my phone into bootloader mode, but holding power and volume down just reboots it normally.
I have a AT&T HTC One X. Any ideas?
It's a timing issue. There are two ways you can do it.
While device is switched on
Hold the volume down button, then hold the power button (so you're holding them together), the button lights will start to flash, they'll stop flashing and the screen will go blank, after a couple of seconds let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume down button until the phone boots into the bootloader.

It's very important to not let go of the power button until you reach the bootloader with either of those methods.

I learned that the hard way. Lol

This is almost always a matter of pilot error. Unless the phone is bricked, or an actual physical malfunction of the vol button, it will always be able to go to bootloader. Just follow timmaaa's suggestion above. The primary error, is that folks don't realize you are supposed to let go of the power button but keep holding vol down. Understandable, since the usual direction is just to "press power and vol down".
