Does the rom you flashed have updated GPS settings? You could flash a GPS script in recovery, clear maps data, then use GPS status from market and go outside and wait until you get locks on satellites.

I installed the infuse 2 first, then serendipity next. I think the gingerbread roms don't have good wifi or 4g data transfer. My stock rom could get 20mbs on my wifi, these gingerbread rooms only get like 6.
Will the infuse 1.6 get stock performance? And do I have to change the kernel back? I remember installing a new kernel before the infuse
2.0 rom. Also, is there any reason I cannot just install infuse1.6 with rom manager?

So I installed the MIUI ROM just to try it out, the wifi is back up to speed, hitting 20mbps on download. the over the air connection I cannot test for some reason. The Web seems snappy, but the speed test won't find the closest server Anne gets stuck

Don't know if this will help, but try flashing another modem.
Ok, it feels like my phone is falling apart here. For some reason, my Internet stops working after a while and I'm not sure why. It greys out on the status bar when it should be colored. I have to keep rebooting my phone in order for it to work. After awhile, it just stops working after that too. I've tried fixing permissions in recovery, wiping and reflashing my phone, toggling airplane mode and mobile data, and changing my apns according to the apn thread for the inspire. The apn setting only gives me access to EDGE network, so I don't know what's going on there. Only thing left to try is flashing a radio. That'll be my last option to try. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
What Rom. What radio? And are you using a cfs or bfs kernel. Also when you look at network info does it say your on gsm/cdma?

CM 7.1.0. LordmodUEv8.5 bfs 2wcr kernel. And the radio is just the stock one. And it says I'm on hsdpa when the Internet goes out.

This is a known problem with your Rom and kernel combo. Get the cfs version of the kernel and flash it. You problems will go away.

Hey, thanks for the help! I flashed the cfs kernel and all is well. People like you is why I love this site.
i compiled cm9 using the official ics UCLF6 files. cm9 is using the UCLE2 files still. Im not sure exactly what differences it will make but they are updated libs and if you are anything like me you want to have the latest and greatest. haha.
i will update the rom daily so it will act as a nightly sort of. i will continue to make these roms daily until cm9 pulls in the UCLF6 files.
I will compile these during the night after 7 or 8 oclock so you can have the changes that are going to be in the next cm9 nightly the night before its released. hehe. they usually put in the changes the night before and then make the rom with those changes the next day. this rom will have the changes before the official rom does.
if you want the latest modem flash this one first:
UCLF6 Modem w/ csc files: http://d-h.st/XYa (thanks seanzscreams)
Latest CM9 rom with UCLF6: HERE
Latest GAPPS: HERE
0.) flash UCLF6 modem (optional)
1.) mounts & storage >> format /system
2.) flash rom
3.) flash gapps
4.) mounts & storage >> format /cache
5.) reboot & enjoy
if you follow these instructions then you will still have your data from your previous cm9. which is always a plus.
Instagram works with these libs! Whoo! Idk about everyone else but it was not working with the nightlies. I could view my feed but I could not take pics and apply filters

Nice work!!!!!
Has anyone tried the camcorder filters? Do they work?
**UPDATE** Nope, they don't.
Nice, will test this out!
so then would the current CM9 state of build work best with the UCLE2 radio? If it's being built around the UCLE2 radio why are we continuously trying "other" radios?
to each his own

some radios work better than other depending on your location etc.
My apartment has horrible signal. UCLE2 manages to get a bar whereas others do not.
I'm using the standard CM9 nightlies, but this build is intriguing. Is your build essentially a preview of what the nightlies will eventually merge in as well?
Try nba jam since that doesn't work ill install this when i get out of class
CM9 Skyrocket
Just flashed the 0710, it's working fine. Thanks.

So the libs and the radio are 2 different things. The cm9 nightlies are being built with the ucle2 libs. They do not include any modem or radio. Libs and radios are interchangeable. You don't have to have the le2 radio with the le2 libs. I hope that makes sense

No sir it hasn't on any dpi or any cm9 ROM to my knowledge.. On an unrelated topic do you know of any battery saving tips like under volting im just curious about that
CM9 Skyrocket
NBA Jam has never worked for me on CM9/AOKP roms... It plays the intro, then closes itself. (I suspect that's when the game tries to read the downloaded data from the SD card.)

I set my lowest to 192mhz and that's all I really do. I bought a 3850mah extended battery so I've never had to worry about battery stuff lol

I'll look into it when I get into work. I bought the game on my touchpad a while ago but never tried to play it on my phone. I'll logcat it and see what it's hanging on

I dunno if its the modem or the lib files, (or maybe something in 7-10) but when I tether another device no data works on this one. When I turn tethering off, I get SMS and mms messages emails weather alerts.. everything that didn't want to come through with portable hotspot on. Browser doesnt work either if it's turned on. Didn't have this issue yesterday, was running 7-9 w f5 modem. Whatta ya think?
(And yes, I am throttled, but I was throttled yesterday as well. I crossed this months line a week and a half ago)
Edit: its not the new radio or the libs. Same thing on official 7-10 with the radio I was using yesterday. So its either 7-10 or I'm more throttled now than I was yesterday. Apologies for the false alarm.

hmmm im not sure. can you get a logcat? the only variable is the libs and modem. i know its alot of work but you can try flashing the stock UCLF6 rom that mohan just posted and see if it does the same thing there. if it does then we know its the libs for sure. i dont think it would be the modem. but you can also try just flashing a different modem on top of the rom you have now and see if that works.
edit: now that i think about it the easiest way to narrow down whether its the radio or libs is to do this.
- be on the rom that isnt working for you (cm9 w/uclf6 libs and uclf6 modem)
- flash a known working modem for you (ucle2, uclf3, etc.)
- see if it works
- if it doesnt work. flash a cm9 nightly with the ucle2 libs. see if that works.
- if it does work then flash the uclf6 modem on top of that and see if it works.
thats the easiest way to determine whether its the modem or the libs
I'm having a strange problem with every 4.1.X ROM i try. All apps that use location data seem to think it still needs to be enabled - even though it is. Gps on, Wifi and cell data share on, but I'm still reminded to enable them for better performance.
This isn't much of a problem with anything except Google Now. Maps still gets a gps fix despite telling me gps is disabled, but Now only shows the "enable location data" card. Any idea how to fix it? I've tried 5 different roms, fixed permissions, did several data and cache wipes, nothing works.
My sister has a stock S 4G with the OTA update and hers works flawlessly.
Have you tried flashing a custom kernel? Did you wipe data/cache/dalvik/boot/system before each ROM install? JB doesn't seem to play nice with some people's phones. Maybe 4.1.2 might fix your problem once someone gets it running on our 4G variant. Also, I believe this belongs in the NS general forum?

I've used matr1x 22.5-23.5 along with stock kernel or included kernel variant packed with each rom and no luck.
And I AM running a 4.1.2 ROM right now, that's why I said 4.1.X because the issue is with both versions

Well that's interesting because I've never had such an issue with jelly bean but future reference don't post in android development section unless your releasing a ROM or kernel or even a recovery... I'm reporting this thread so it can be moved

hey guys! first timer here. I just installed EB ICS 4.0.4 Build 5. Everything is great but it seems that my data speed is far slower than before on the stock 2.3.4. The speedtest results in a lower than 1MBPS, like around 700 and lower. It used to be at least 2 MB. Is this an issue with anyone else? Also, what information do you need from me?

EB ICS rom has many issues! Maybe this is just one of them....
I was afraid of that! Also my phone still freezes to where I have to remove the battery in order to get it to work.

Ya I installed the latest CM7 for it, it seems ok but I get random acts of weirdness like freezes. And my by drains hard, but its probably all the push stuff. I got to see what other ROMS are out there besides CM. Thanks dude!
