Hey,
I have updated my Trophy to version 7720 of Mango, and now it's releasing soon itself so I want to restore it for the official released version.
However, when I try to restore from the backup do I get an error saying that the backup is invalid. How can I fix this problem?

I suggest you wait and be patient until the rollout clarifies whether you actually need to go back to NoDo or whether you are fine. This has not been determined yet and there is still a good chance you might not have to go back to NoDo.
if your backup is bad worst case scenario is flashing with a rom to go back to 7004 or NoDo and then upgrade from there.
I have this same issue with my Samsung Focus, tried to do backup that didnt work so tried going back and reloading the factory firmware and now I am stuck at 7004. I would say to everyone to heed the advice and just stay put where you are, my guess is that Microsoft has locked down everything till 7.5 starts getting out. Id just say wait and see what happens.
Ok I will wait for now to see if I can rollback through an update coming soon, but I do doubt that since I have installed the 7720 version which got posted on forum here.
Is there also a guide for the flashing and a link to the good rom? Never done this before so I prefer some links to the correct ones working fine for me.

I'm VERY interested to know if this stops the OP's freezing issue ... please update.
Moved to Q&A.
i installed the 2.3.2 and the problem is still here
the problem start 2 weeks ago when i run stock 2.3.3,i tried 2.3.2,cm7,miui
nothing helps!
Thanks for the update. Am I right that the freezing problem only started after upgrading to 2.3.3?
not quite,
i runned 2.3.3 for almost a month and only after that it begin to freez.
it really strange, seems like there is no obvious characteristic for this issue.
did you contact google/samsung?
I don't have a Nexus S so I'm not actually experiencing the problem. It's a phone I will be getting soon but I am worried about all these freezing problems so trying to get to te bottom of it.
Basically, if the problem is with 2.3.3 (which seems likely), assuming my Nexus S arrives with an earlier version I will not upgrade OTA - that's IF this is the problem.
Still can't be sure though if this is the cause of the freezing, just seems odd people are only reporting the problem lately when the phone has been out months.

Anyone updated yet
I have tried on 2 stock roms (rooted) and neither say there is an update available - before going back to stock via the 11 step process, has anyone actually updated their device yet - or am I just not patient enough and the update is actually rolling out slowly and not available manually? Any help is appreciated, since I would hate to blast phones to get the update (i would rather wait on a rooted version, but would love to get a better experience than the current ROM provides!)

I too would rather wait for a rooted version but I'm too excited to use Gingerbread. I will roll back my rom to the original tonight via Moto RSD Lite and then try the update, I will report back if all goes well... or not, hehe.

try *#*#checkin#*# or the other way around, i forgot.
My wife has the D2 Global on vzw. running the orig 2.2 not rooted or bootstrapped.
No update notifications / plus the software update says the phone is up to date.
*#*#2432546#*#*
Checkin works fine, still no update atleast in the Phoenix Metro Cell System.
Just tried checkin as well and no gingerbread love here, either. In Columbus, Ohio. I believe the update is still in it's "soak-test" phase, which means only a select few will actually receive it just yet. My guess is we're sstill a week out from actual release, but don't quote me on it. Only wishful hoping at this point .
Nothing here in NC yet.
Ive tried the *#*#checkin#*#* also no go.
Anyone got it yet? I wish we can find the SBF so we can just flash it ourselves
will being rooted prevent me from getting the update?

If you have a custom ROM on your rooted device then most defiantly. I went back to the original stock using the 11 step process without a problem, but you will most probably have to wipe/factory data to get it to work.
I'm still waiting for the new update though
Root, etc.
Just got a Droid 2 Global from Assurion (brand new) as a replacement for a stolen Droid 2. Pure stock, never been rooted; no update. So those of you with no update don't need to panic over whether you ran Z4ROOT or not; the update is NOT yet here, at least on my phone (California) and it is pure as the driven snow.

I'm pretty sure it would be an update.zip file, not an sbf file, but all the same it would be nice if someone would just copy it to their pc before updating so we could all have it already.
Hi to all
I have a student-dev unlocked Phone and updated to Mango the official way. I saved my Backup in the WP7 Restore point Folder to another Folder.
I wanted to go back to pre-Mango now, but when I try to use the Backup-Tool it always says, that the Support Tool Version (4.7.x) does not match the Zune Version (4.8.x). Obviously there is no way in the moment to downgrade zune to 4.7 due to the fact, that zune 4.8 is now the official build.
Has anyone a possible solution for getting my backup to my phone?
Okay disabling the network while performing setup was a too easy solution, didnt thought of that!
Thanks!
Why do you want to return to pre-Mango?
I have a Samsung Focus running the leaked 7720 RTM build. Looks like the RTM wont be supported by the cleanup build. So how can I revert back to Nodo so I can then receive the official update? When I go to updates from zune, I cant see any place to restore from backup
Why don't you save your backup before experimenting with Mango RTM (uninstalling Zune etc.)?

stock rom will be your option to go to NoDo. But I highly recommend you wait. There is still a chance that even those on RTM might get the update. And then there are good programmers here who can figure out ways to accomplish this without MS.
I concur with the previous poster, but worst case scenario you can probably wait a week or so, see whether your device tries to update, and if not, roll back to your Nodo backup, which you hopefully made. At that point, your device should see the update. Though, the focus has been notorious for slow updates anyway. You may just want to stay put for a while and see what happens.

yea i figured it out, the backup wasnt stored in the windows phone update folder, but once i moved it there, it showed up in zune...also i will wait and see if the official mango update comes through anyways. Thanks guys!
samsung focus
I lost my back up when I got the new version of zune . I was ready to flash the 7004 rom that I found on here but I tried zune first . I got the samsung update (firmware I am sure) and I checked with a friend who did not update to the 7720 rtm and our firmware hardware and os versions are all the same . I am pretty sure that I am up to date and dont need to do anything else . Can someone please confirm this for me . I was on rtm7720 I am hoping with the firmware I have the final mango .

yes but it will not run the setup when you upgrade to mango
It is not working in mango anymore..... Just side loaded it when you click it it goes black then closes..... I think mango blacklisted it?????
It was there a few days ago when I first upgraded to Mango. It installed but would not run (said carrier not found). Hopefully they pulled it until they get it upgraded and it comes back.
i can´t find Compass too..
Did you look in the system settings, thats where I found it

HTC Surround originally on Telus, used Connection Setup to reconfigure for Rogers. Updated to Mango, now I've lost 3G. With no access to Connection Setup, I can't re-enable data. Any ideas?

Go back to your backup made right before the update, then uninstall Connection Setup before you update. If it is installed it tries to run when the update finishes and you lose 3G. This is probably the main reason it has been pulled as it does not work on final Mango.
Could not restore to backup because I replaced the 16 GB SD card with an 8GB! I flashed stock Telus Rom with Nodo, and then flashed DFT 7720 Rom. Phone now works great (my wife is currently enjoying Angry Birds on it!)

Yea, if you updated to the newest version, it gives that error.
If you ran the older version (non updated), it will run your provxmls BUT, on verizon you would lose 3G service totaly, Hard reset or reflash rom would be the only fix (tried a lot of stuff).
It needs to be upgraded for mango but, the good old days of doing reg edits I think is over for HTC devices with this.

At this point I am going to wait and see if they release an updated version and then hope my provxml file is still sitting there. I had uninstalled it before upgrading so it did not try to run and I have 3G, then went to the HTC Hub and downloaded what was there which failed to run (and has since been pulled).
AFAIK the provxml file should still be sitting there waiting to get "provisioned"

Hi derausgewanderte,
Yes this is the correct packages although would "HTC connection setup" still work after it has been sideloaded if i upgrade to mango and the device relocks?
I think ill have to wait it out untill it becomes available in marketplace again or another way is found to unlock mango.
