Hi Playmates - this is driving me nuts
I want to stream .mkv video files from my server and PC to my Android Samsung Galaxy phone. It used to work perfectly but since upgrading to Froyo 2.2 operating system everytime I use ALLSHARE to access my server wirelessly and add a video file to the playlist the phone says it doesn't recognise the file. It used to stream all my .mkv files easily. So if the problem is with the ALLSHARE program is there an alternative Android program that will do the same job?
Many thanks
Landy
Hi folks,
I've been trying a couple of ROMs to breathe new life into my old Tornado Noble, but have run into a problem with Media Player 10. Same issue on WM6 Platinum SP1 and Gregory's 6.5.
Some music tracks just will not play. I used the desktop media player to sync them (all mp3) with no issues, i've tried re-coding them to 128Kbps, and copying them over, but the same tracks just give an error. They play fine on all the PPC versions of media player mobile, just not on this smartphone version.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any pointers!
*I re-coded to WMA128k and everything plays, which i'll use as a workaround. But, i'd still like to find out why MP10 has difficulties with some mp3s and not others (same album).

perhaps it is because the source filter for WMP was not loading properly! you try it with this application, maybe it can fix and do too little change in the registry like this -> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ UIPlugins\{D7D08B8C-E755-4fa9-8E79-139FA379E00E}]
"FriendlyName"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Description"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Capabilities"=dword:0 --> change it to = 1
after that soft reset your device....
Thanks for the effort Hakim, but that didn't help. WMP just seems determined not to like mp3s.

Really? then you should try to use the application free MP3/MP4/M4A/AAC/WMA/WAV/M3U/PLS/ASX v0.83 S2P player. It simply lets you browse your music files play &. It is fully integrated with S2U2; & supports A2DP AVRCP &.
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556885 to get it
Not sure if S2P (Slide to Play) will work on a smartphone without touchscreen. You may wish wish to check out tcpmp as well. Commercial products are also Coreplayer or PocketPlayer.
There may also be something weird with these special MP3 that don't work. Can you find anything in common for those that do not work? Lookup some mp3 checker program with Google. You could also upload a faulty track here (or at mediafire or alike) so we can check that with our devices/ROMs?
I'm running build 7720 on my HD7 and syncing my phone with Zune Software version 4.8.
All music on my computer is in WMA Lossless format. When I was on NoDo, every time I would sync music to my phone, Zune would automatically convert all my music to MP3s because the lossless format was not supported by Windows Phone 7.
But now when I sync my phone using 7720 and Zune 4.8, I no longer see it converting my files as they sync to my phone.
My conversion settings in Zune are set to "Only convert files not supported by this device".
Can anyone else confirm this?
Lossless music for life!
Yeah and even the .m4a format is now working too, i had some podcast feeds coded that way and now im able to ear them all, way to GO!
Hi guys. I'm still having problem with my hd7... By the way Im using mango shipped rom. But zune still convert my wma lossless music files to mp3 when syncing to HD7.
Any idea why this is happening? I've also set the zune settings to "Only convert files not supported by this device". but it still convert the files T_T. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks alot.
I am looking for some (player ?) that can automagically scan/monitor and sync my music library to my phone. A good example of what I'm looking for is WMP12, which monitors target folders and can sync music with devices, the only drawback being the fact it actually converts each file to a "compatible" medium-bitrate mp3 file - my music is mostly itunes (m4a) and flac, so the quality is downgraded this way.
Try winamp for android... great app for syncing music...

Hi guys, I've got this weird issue that is driving me crazy. I have a Mac and I sync music from iTunes to S10e via iSyncr. Everything works fine (in Music folder I've got both music and playlists) but:
Samsung S10 stock player doesn't recognise playlists (it did it for a bit and then now it's blank in playlist section)
Other players recognise playlists but for instance Retro Player doesn't update them once added. So in the last month playlist I still see old stuff and not the latest added
Samsung s10 stock player is not showing me all of the music I've got. Some mp3 are missing (even though they're in the same folder)
.
Anyone is facing the same problem? Thanks for any help!
The player seems to be pretty strict on the use of special characters in file names. I had to rename several mp3 files to get the phone to recognize them.
