Unable to go into debugging mode. Help appreciated. - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hello fellow G2x users. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I have used the search function but still haven't found a solution. I just received my refurbished G2x from T-mobile insurance today since my HD2 no longer charges. I'm ready to root and flash a rom on the phone but when I connect the USB cable that came with the phone, it would not detect it and the USB debugging mode does not pop up. I went to Setting - Applications - Development, and made sure the USB debugging is checked but nothing. Also downloaded the USB cable driver from the LG website, still nothing. So any help would be appreciated because I want to get this phone running on CM7 and try these kernels! Thank you.

USB Connection Issues and some questions

Just upgraded from a Samsung Fascinate to the Samsung Droid Charge yesterday. For some reason the phone will not mount the sdcard when connected to the computer. Have the Fascinate usb drivers installed and that did not work. Installed the Charge drivers and the phone is still doing the same thing. It's like connecting then disconnecting in a loop. Don't know what to do, is this a common issue?
Also the store upgraded the phone to the latest software (EE4), how can I root? Any other advise about the phone will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
BB

USB Problem! Help!

I have a Samsung Fascinate and my phone won't connect to my computer! A few days ago, I was on rooted stock and I noticed it wouldn't connect to my PC. I did a data wipe and installed MIUI and noticed the problem was still going on. I thought it was no big deal but now it is VERY annoying! I've tried it on my Windows 7 computers and one XP computer and none of them work! They all say that it can't be recognized. I have accidental insurance on it and the person at BestBuy mobile said I can root it without voiding it. I don't know if installing a ROM (MIUI) voids it or not. I'm trying to do an Odin restore and when I put it in download mode, Windows still says that it can't recognize it. I want it on stock before calling them about it. I'm thinking this is a hardware issue. Anyway to get it off of MIUI and back to stock without a PC?! :'(
have you tried going to settings/development and un checking USB Debugging? worked for me after update.
Yes, make sure USB Debugging is not selected, as this will prevent your device from entering storage mode and be picked up by your Computer.
Also, make sure that you're using the original USB data cable that came with your phone. Other cables might allow charging, but won't work for data.
or...
if still doesnt work, try a factory reset (sorry)
I am using the original cable. And USB Debugging is unchecked. It also won't detect my phone in download mode...? Could it maybe be the USB?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
GOOD NEWS! I had another USB cable laying around and it turns out its NOT my phone, its the USB cable!!! STOCK HERE I COME!!!

Did you download the ADB usb drivers? Also, be very careful downloading the Samsung Drivers and updating Win 7. They broke two of my computers.

Why ask this question in two threads? Could be a bad usb cord or uninstall all lg drivers and reinstall them again. Make sure your phone is not plugged into the computer while you install the drivers for the first time also. Then restart your pc and then plug your g2x, should be fine then.
I realized I posted in the wrong section that's why. Thanks, will try that right now.

bootlooped but dont know how to enable debugging

so this morning i woke up and my nexus 5 was in a bootloop for absolutely no reason, i have done nothing to this phone for a year and half. this happened to me once when i tried to unroot it but my device already had usb debugging on so i could just fix it from there.
so, how do i enable usb debugging on a bootlooped phone?
thanks in advance
edit: damn wrong thread section, if a mod sees this please move this to the nexus 5 section
Why do you need to enable usb debugging?
You should try flashing /system only from the factory image of whatever version of Android you are running.

USB not working anymore

Hi,
I noticed yesterday that the USB on my OPO wasn't working anymore (charging works, but the phone isn't recognized on my PC, and doesn't recognize USB drive or any other storage)
I have searched on hundreds of threads on hundreds of different forums, but nothing works for me
Before you answer :
Yes USB debugging is enabled
Yes USB configuration is set to MTP
No I don't have " three dots" in storage and USB to enable MTP or idk what
No I don't have any notification when I plug my phone to enable MTP mode
Yes OPO driver is installed
Yes I tried to uninstall it
Yes I rebooted my PC, my phone, tired on different PCs and different OSs.
I think that's all.

my friend had the same problem on his asus zenfone 5, the guys at the service center said that the USB ic needs to be changed. just an advice try not to hard brick your phone untill you rectify this, cos my friend hardbricked his phone with this problem and he ended up in trouble.
Thank you for your reply.
I think I have the same problem... I asked the same question on the official OnePlus forum, and someone told me to do a factory reset, and if the problem was still here after that, that means it's probably hardware related. So I did a factory reset, and the problem is still here...
I'll follow your advice because I know it will get worse if I brick my phone, I will contact OnePlus tomorrow
