My facebook for htc sense stopped working since the 20th of september. I cannot upload any photos and the friends stream isn't updated. Anyone else has these problems?
try clearing app data and removing/reinstalling the widget. if that doesn't work try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Sometimes the sync feature freezes up it seems.
Removing the account and reinstalling the sync plugin made it working again. I thought that the error maybe had something to do with the recent facebook changes.
Hesitated to reinstall because it automaticly starts syncing contacts and calendar (and i hate that) when you install the plugin.

If you have any spaces, dashes, or an apostrophes (like I do) it looks as though it causes a problem with com.htc.bgp. When I had an apostrophe in my last name on Facebook no matter what I tried I could not sync using the People app. This morning I tried taking the apostrophe out on Facebook, deleting the account from my phone, deleting HTC Sense and Android Facebook permissions in the account settings under applications on the Facebook website then re-adding my Facebook account on my Hero under Accounts & Sync. It loaded my Facebook account without the apostrophe. I then opened the people app and attempted to link a contact and to my surprise I seen my Facebook contacts loading up instead of "no matches"! It has been months since I could use the people app to sync with Facebook and I have tried all the brute methods and just turning down your memory killer! Give it a try if you have any characters that aren't letters in your first or last name on Facebook.
I am running Damage Control 2.09.1 overclocked with 2.6.36 darkshizz kernel. If overclocked you must turn the settings back to stock (dconfig, setcpu, all memory killers, etc).
*Edit* I just put the apostrophe back in my name on Facebook and synced again. It kept my name without the apostrophe and still allowed me to sync new contacts!
I want to know how to only sync the contacts I have and not import all my friends from facebook, like how 1.5 used to be. I hate having a ton of extra contacts I never call in my dialer!
Use the stock/non htc facebook app. it does this exactly.

For some reason when i click on facebook in accounts and sync nothing happens. Is this linked to the actual facebook app you download from the market?....I want to try to reinstall it. Cleared my facebook cache...still nothing.
Running fresh rom.

I had this happen when I switched to DarchDroid 2.7. I solved the issue by searching the market for facebook, and it told me I needed to upgrade. I had the typical notification show me other apps that needed upgraded but had no mention of Facebook. After I upgraded it, I was able to sync in the accounts area just fine. Hope that helps.

I don't really know but when I went to the downloads part of my market it didn't say that Facebook needed to update, but after further investigation I realized that it wasn't in the download list at all. So I searched the market for it and when it found it, it told me that it had an update available. So if you have already tried that and it won't work, then I would say you should try removing the old Facebook app altogether and then just get the new one from the market.
So the fix for the extra Facebook synced contacts in the dailer is to use the Facebook App instead of the HTCFacebook ?
I had the same problem and I fixed it by uninstalling Facebook for Android and in settings>accounts & syncs, I removed Facebook account. I then re-downloaded Facebook for Android and in accounts & sync, I added Facebook for HTC NOT Facebook for Android.
you cant use the regular facebook app if you have sense.........
EDIT: My apologies for not originally putting this in the Q&A forum. Please forgive the "stupid NOOB." It won't happen again.
Today I was trying to sync my browser to Chrome in my g-slate. The browser was not sync'ing. I went into Chrome and stopped syncing, went into my Google profile and removed all Chrome Sync data, and then started the process over. The goal was to get my bookmarks on my g-slate browser.
When I reset the browser to sync, I got:
"The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I've already gone through and deactivated all the sync for my google account, then gone to Books, Browser, Calendar, Contacts, G-mail, Calendar Sync, Contacts Sync, Contacts Storage and cleared cache, and cleared data, restarted the slate, and then went through the sync one by one. Once I get to Sync Browser, it hits every time
So I know it's localized to the browser, and I think that something got screwed up. I've read that some sync files can get stuck and conflict, which causes this error, but nothing ever says how to fix it.
Can someone help me out?

Same problem here, on Asus tablet running Android 3.1.
Stock browser had bookmarks synchronized with chrome, then had the BAD idea of erasing the chrome sync data trough the google dashboard (no longer interested in bookmark sync), and the error message started to appear
All I did is to wait for dashboard to update (data cleared), then had to re-create a bookmark sync
Not a big deal for me, given on PCs I'm using Firefox and Chrome sync was setup just for migrating bookmarks from a broken tablet to the new one...
Anyway, now browser works again with no longer the error message.
Google will have anyway to fix this!
I installed CM7.1.0 stable and it is great except for one thing. When Facebook app syncs contacts I can't open contact details. It force closes on me on every contact that has a Facebook. When I disable sync contacts in Facebook, no more force closes in contacts. I'm using T-Mobile G2X. I've tried fixing permissions, re installing Facebook App.
Anyone else run into similar issue? Any solutions?
FIXED!!! It was the Google+ app 2.0 (the one that leaked out last week)
Once I removed it, no more force close in contacts.

i seems like it work on 3.1 but something change later and it stop sync...

Try to add the account once more after, deleting the facebook account from "Settings >> Accounts & Sync" and clear the cache

Facebook for HTC Sense does not exist in Endymion ROM. All the FB sync is (should be) done via the Facebook app.
I also have problems with FB sync. Contact pictures sync fine on first sync after installation, but never update themselves. The only way to update them is to remove FB account and clear data from Facebook app.
Moreover, I have one more problem with facebook app: Sometimes, without any particular reason, it stucks on "loading" screen and nothing happens. Even if you relaunch the app, it is still stuck on loading. The only way to make it work again is Force stop it from Settings/Applications menu and clear cache. Then it works again for a day or two and then gets stuck again.

Actually that's not quite correct. Although you don't see an "Facebook for HTC Sense" account, there is still a proprietary HTC facebook app in the rom. It's called HtcFacebook.apk.
In previous sense versions, you had to provide credentials (login/pass) for this application, but in Sense 3.5 if you install Facebook and login, the HTC app automatically is also able to do so.
So all contact pictures and such are done actually by the HTC app, not the "normal" Facebook app. My method for keeping things running smoothly is:
- Install facebook app from market
- Set it to not sync anything. Do this inside the app settings, not in "Accounts and sync"
- Even though you chose not to sync, the HTC facebook app will still sync stuff perfectly
What I don't know is the syncing schedule. I know sometimes it takes hours/days until all stuff gets updated/synced, but I can't do anything about that.

I installed InsertCoin Evolution v2.0 Custom Rom For HTC Sensation.
Everything works fine as now, The ROM is great.....
But I found one thing, is it a bug or what, i don't know...
Even though I am synchronized through Facebook, Contact pictures are not showing in messages.
When I restarts the Shell, the pictures starts coming but after some time, say 7 to 8 hr, again pictures of contacts goes blank whereas in contacts list, pictures are very much there.
I had restarts the phone several times, not only hot reboot which restarts shell only but did a full reboot. Even though the problem persists...
Any way to solve this....????

have you deleted the HTC Twitter apk? Ive found that once I delete that, my pictures wont show up in the contacts or messages, even tho I dont even use Twitter. if you have, just reflash the rom or restore the app if you can
if you havent deleted the apk, you can try clearing the data and cache for the Facebook app and uninstalling it/removing your account. then you can install it again and it should work fine

yaah i had deleted the HTC Twittere apk....
i don't use twitter that's why i did that, sad to hear that i have to install twitter for that, twitter is like a bloatware to me.... but i'll give a try to this solution

I had this same problem myself, the problem was nothing to do with Twitter, the problem is with facebook and syncing fb contacts with phone book contacts, there becomes a conflict between users profile pictures on fb, and the pictures u have stored for those same contacts on your google account, anyway to fix this, first open facebook, press menu, settings, scroll to the bottom where the sync options are and change to don't sync, it will clear user data for u, next exit facebook, what I did after this, was via rcmix settings I cleared the dalvik cache and cache, then rebooted the phone, once your back up and running, u can either go through each contact at a time and edit them assigning a new picture to them or remove your google account and re add it, next u can set facebook back up, this time though select don't sync, when your finished goto your system settings, accounts and sync, facebook and just tick calender events and live feed, leave the contacts unchecked, that's it, should be done, the only thing u loose is in your phone book contacts their facebook status will no longer appear.
