I have had my sensation for ages now and still to this day i can not get a number to save while i am in a phone call. I dial it and as soon as i end the call the number is gone. I have resorted to now pressing home flipping a couple of pages and using the sticky note widget to easily save numbers. Terribly annoying. Anyone know of an easier way or a button to save a number in a call? Thanks.
Click on the dialer and your recent calls should be there, on the right of the number you should see a + symbol, click on it and you should have the option to add it.

Sorry i think i worded my question poorly. I dont need to know how to save a number. I mean when i am in a phone call i will dial another number (say a number read to me over the phone) well as soon as the call ends the number given to me is gone. is there a way to save it while in a phone call?

Yes but press the home button while on the phone and go into contacts before dialing the number. Dialing a number while in phone call screen causes the phone to start to think as if it was a confrence call sort of deal. (Make sense?)
Just tell your caller to hang on while you get your address book out so to spreak

Anyone noticed that when you receive incoming calls, the volume starts off very low for about 2 to 3 seconds before becoming loud?? Does anyone have a way to get the volume to start off loud? Any help would be very appreciated.

The only option right now is to change to another phone.
are you serious? there's no way to modify one of the files to get it to ring normally?
On behalf of "mwxiao" it was, in fact, a serious answer. My suggestion? Forget about it - or consider it a feature. Low first ring gives you an opportunity to answer without disturbing those around you. How's that for putting a positive spin on it?
It's not so good of a feature for those who are hearing impaired, like I am.

I understand, and have a practical solution that you may not be aware of to help offset the first low ring by extending the time your phone rings before rolling over into voicemail.
1. On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
2. Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
3. Write down the number (including +1)
4. Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum
5. Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.
Dialing *#61# as instruction 5 suggests told me that my phone forwards to voicemail after 30 seconds.
Hope this helps.
thanks for your help. this will help me out some.
ok this is a weird problem
my own fault
phone is the OnePlus one obviously.
have been having ongoing small problem with the dialer, as i use DW dialer.
sometimes when i went to make an outgoing call the stock dialer would also load and i would have to push the call button twice.
small problem but annoying.
so i went into the settings>apps>phone
and cleared the phone setting >launch by default.
this has fixed the outgoing calls problem
however now when i have incoming calls it doesnt bring up the window to let me answer them. the phone kind of hangs while the incoming call is ringing.
i can get back to the home screen. but there is no way to answer the call.
so i need a way to reassign the incoming calls to the phone.
i dont get any notification on the phone itself. just the ringing phone.
there is no way at all to answer the call - cant swipe down.
the only thing i can do is wait for the call to end. then see who is in my missed calls and ring them back.
please help
cheers

I've been having this problem for a few days now. Phone rings but no UI for me to answer the phone call. Any solution to this yet? Thanks.
U have to tell which ROM u r using. There should be some option in settings for accidental phone wake up (Something like that), you have to disable that. Search in the settings.
I have updated to 5.1.1 but problem is its not showing the name when incoming call....only showing first letter of the name how can we find who is calling
I've just solved this problem on my phone - I'd blocked notifications from Dialler:
Settings --> App Notifications --> Dialler --> Deselect Block
Man!! This is a lifesaver. How come this solution is not available elsewhere. Thanks a lot!!!!
Hi
i am facing a issue in galaxy note edge mobile, on call waiting... if i am on call-1 and its on going when 2nd call appears in call waiting and i attend the 2nd call it drops the 1st call without any notification or asking me that i want to put hold or end call ... is this any issue ??
pls help
My Verizon version works as expected. When I answer the 2nd call, the 1st one moves to the top of the screen, stays on hold. I would make sure your service provider provisioned for this feature.

is it a service providr prblem ??? when i dialed a nmber on screen options are also few for me i got just buttons for bluetooth, keypad and speaker or drop the call button thats it what i got when i dialed a nmber ..
The phone app will only present features or buttons that are actionable at any given time. Before a call is connected, you do not have the Add button (greyed out). During a call, the Add button becomes available for you to make another call. By the same token, if you're already on a call, you would be presented with options to answer the 2nd call. These are not provider's errors. However, whether or not you can accept call-waiting, that is configured by the provider for your line.

this is my thing .. dialed means when i am on call ... i got only buttons which i mentioned before (speaker, dialingpad and bluetooth)
and 2nd problem call waiting is activated but when i attend the 2nd call coming in while i am on 1st call ... on picking the 2nd call ...it drops the 1st call itself without asking anything ... i need to know what is the issue the model of note edge is (SM-N915F)
When I answer the 2nd call, I do not get prompted to put the 1st one on hold. It just does it automatically.

Hi,
I've just got a watch 2 sport and when I've dialed someone off the watch and they are engaged I cannot see how to end call as icons disappear, I then have to get phone out my pocket , same when I'm on a call and want to end it off watch without getting phone out, unlocking it, then ending call, how do you?
Thanks.
Would like to solve the same problem.
u can set in option to ends call by pressing power button
I've tried wear dialer and that does what I want, ie there is an answer and a end call icon on the watch itself, it's not perfect because once in a call you can't see anything on the watch bar the dialer, if you want to see the time by pressing the home button it ends the call.
not sure if i understand good (my english is not very well )
if u have a call and wanna see for example time, just swipe dialer like u would close any app, call will remain and you will be able to see what u want and at the end of call press power button

Not my situation.
I cant see the call informations on my watch.
Once I pick up the call, call UI on the watch dissapear.
Kind silly if you are driving car and speaking to your bluetooth and you are not able to end call without picking phone out of your pocket.

That's what I can't understand, I call a number from my watch through my Bluetooth, the call ui disappears, the number is say engaged, I then have to go back to my phone to end call as the watch won't do it, the only way the watch will do it is by taking the call solely through the watch itself, the call ui then stays.
Not the best but I've stuck with wear dialer even though once on a call the watch only shows the call ui, if you want to know the time while on the call, you can't.
Having a bad day today. Recently got word a family member passed. I need to call some people, text (not call) others, and review my call, SMS, and caller ID history for last contact info.
The problem is I have Lineage OS 14.1 (Nougat) on my LG G5 and it keeps automatically dialing numbers when I just click on someone's name, or contact info, etc. when I don't want it to!!! With family issues it's making things very uncomfortable, even when I hang up the call right away. In the past app behavior used to have common sense labels like "call number". Now, depending on the app or screen, clicking on a photo or name can sometimes open more info like history, or the horror of quickly calling a number I do not want to call, and it's made today very very uncomfortable.
I need an app, or hack, to only load the phone number into my dialer and never autodial until I manually press the CALL button in the dialer. This includes contacts, SMS app, caller ID app, everything. Yes it's an extra step but I really need this. Thank you.
EDIT: I think the feature is called Direct Call, & I want to disable it.
