[Q] system memory problem - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i flashed indroid 5.0 and upgraded it to 5.1 and then flashed fugumod ultra 2 days ago now when i backed up with titanium i wanted to change theme and it says i have to have at least 10 mb of system memory to change team so i go to titanium and i see this :
System ROM: 219 MB (10 mb free)
Internal: 202 MB (134 MB free)
Sd card: 1.36GB (330 Mb free)
Sd card(a2sd) 479MB (248 MB free)
how is my system rom only 10 mb free and is system rom system memory or i am wrong ?

That's because you are using custom rom.
You have 134 MB of free phone memory.
And your sdcard is partitioned.

if you want to increase system memory then by root exporer delete some un necessary things like memo...then you will get max.system memory...

/system is where you have the os apps installed. Try removing a few apps...like launchers and keyboards which you don't need. I use better keyboard and Go launcher Ex. I have integrated them to the system ROM and removed everything else(keyboards and launchers) as it is unnecessary for me.
/system memory being less is actually not an issue.

[Q] Internal Storage-No not that ? again!

I just recently flashed Virtuous Unity 1.25 on my Inspire and noticed that my internal storage is down to 465 mb under sd and phone storage. Before I was on Inspired Ace and my storage was around 700-800 mb I believe but not exactly sure. I only have about 30 apps installed and they're all on the internal storage but that's only maybe about 100 mb. It says I'm using 678 mb in manage applications and have 479 mb. Is the new rom taking up all this space or is there something else that could be eating up all my internal storage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Who here has the lowest internal storage?

Hello Everybody
So now....
Who in here's CURRENT PHONE has the lowest internal storage ever?
Lets start, My internal storage is 190MB
OptimusLove, I love how you always have worst phone contests.
Mytouch Q is screwed up so I've rolled back to my flipside which has 12mb of internal storage after I update all system apps. About 70 mb if I uninstall updates and clear cache. It actually has 512 mb but its partitioned so stupidly (thanks MOTO). On CM 7 it actually ends up with 110 mb and I can use link2sd, but you get the idea...
As soon as I fix my mytouch q ill be up at about 1GB of storage, total 2GB but partitioned so user data is approx. 1GB. Exact is 950mb
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
in vodafone ideos (u8150) the internal memory is 256mb but the free (for porting of cm10) with facebook app and whatsapp is 56mb
with link2sd it's possibile move the app dawlink on the sd but not of the system app. with this procedure the free memory is 60mb

[Q] Use of ROM (Memory) in Android Devices

I am going to ask very basic question regarding ROM in Android Device.
Searched for Android Devices and found as below (different devices):
1) Memory - 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM
2) Memory - 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM
3) Memory - 1 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM
because of ROM size, prices are different from one another.
Is it just the normal internal memory which they are labeling as ROM, or does it have a different purpose altogether. Because once phone is up and running the OS is loaded in RAM and not ROM.
If OS is installed in ROM, it may occupy 1 or 2 GB, what is the use of remaining space.
1) user can install app of his/her choice
2) app data storage
3) cache / delvik cache
3) anything else
if someone purchase with Memory - 512 MB RAM, 4 GB ROM, what approx Internal Storage he/she will have to install apps?
I would appreciate your help and response.
Regards.

Mysterious case of Insufficient Storage despite 5.08 GB of available space.

I'm using the Nobis NB09 tablet with Android 4.1.1. When attempting to download an app from the Google Play Store, I get Insufficient Storage error, despite 5.08 GB of available space and the app that I want to download is only 9.83 MB, so there is more than enough space to install it.
Available space reported in Storage:
Internal Storage
Available66.24 MB
Internal Storage
Available5.01 GB
Why is all this available space being ignored?
Why are there 2 sections for Internal Storage shown in Storage?

Thers this regular storage space and another space where you are supposed to install apps and you've seem to have hit the limit there . also an app that's only 10 MB mayoccupy much more after installation .(it need to store cache and all)
So you need to free space in the the first storage that has only 66 MB available .either delete some unwanted apps or move some apps to SD card or you can increase the limit for app installed space using Root access required apps.

After uninstalling updates for unneeded apps, storage is reporting 319 MB of free space, so much space was liberated.
The initial download size was 9.83 MB compared to 23.97 MB after installation. So it takes up 2.4x more space after installation.
Is there a way to resize the partitions as in changing the ratio of apps to regular storage?

You can make use of apps like link2sd but it requires root
