Use the mynet app that comes with the transformer and follow the instructions. As long as you are on the same wifi network it should work. There are also a few dozen market apps that will do it to

Hi
I have read the letters DLNA in every review of Samsung Captivate. Does anybody know what it is? And or how it works. Any kind of information is helpful.

basically you can share stuff over a network or wifi to yer mobile device...that is what AllShare is for.
For example... I can stream (via WiFi) videos from my Windows 7 computer to my Captivate. I can also do the reverse and stream videos from my Captivate to my computer's Windows Media Player or my hacked WDTV media player.

I don't have a PS3, but if you have and want to try it over Windows 7:
For Windows 7->Captivate, you'll need to go to "Network and Sharing Center" and turn on "media streaming" somewhere in there. The files must be added in Windows Media Player's library. In the Captivate, select play from a server.
For Captivate->Windows 7, the Captivate's name shows up in Windows Media Player's left side. Click it and it shows the list of what's on the phone. In Captivate, just start All Share (nothing else).
anyone know how to have All Share NOT stretch the resolution of the incoming video and keep the aspect ratio of the file?

Annoying, isn't it?
In the actual "Video Player" app you can control how the video gets stretched - but not in the AllShare player. Why Samsung would choose to torture us like this is beyond me, but it makes me hate them so very much.
I will pay anyone who can figure out how to hack that size/aspect button from the video player to the allshare player.
Interesting....

I'm installing it just by clicking it in on the phone (not using adb) and it just says not installed. Any idea why? I will try twonky though, thanks guys.
EDIT: adb gives me "Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]" when i do this. My phone is rooted. Hmph.
EDIT2: I just tried twonky server. It works perfectly, i think its better than the samsung app, so i'll just be using that. Plus it look cool

If your Ps3 and phone are connected on the same network then they should "see" each other fine. If you scroll down on your Movies category on the Ps3 you will see your phone listed there.
Well, I can see my phone in Movies, Music and Photos on PS3. I can even see the songs and the photos I have on my phone. However, when I try to play a track I get DLNA 2104 error. I can see the thumbnails of the photos but when I try to view it I get a "network error". Is it possbile that this happens because my Netgear router is not configured as an Access Point?

Oh ok. I got that same error as well. Basically you want to make sure that:
A) Your Firewall (whether its 3rd party or just windows xp/ vista/ etc) is set to allow your device (ps3/ phone) to stream and share files.
B) Allow "network and sharing" center's Discovery mode and "file sharing" within Windows (or whatever OS you are running).
c) Also tell your net-gear that your Ps3 and phone are allowed to share files as well. I'm not quite sure how Netgear has their firewall setup. You may have to open DMZ (wouldnt recommend it tho).
I think theres more....ill have to post back when i remember all my steps...lol
a) What the Firewall on my computer has to do with the connection between the phone and PS3?
b) Similar to a). It's about the phone and the PS3 not the computer, right?
c) I'm not sure how do I do that.
what are some things you guys do with the xoom that makes you happy that you spent 600 $ on it
Get an OTG cable and a USB controller and play some emulators. You can also try and load Ubuntu on it.
Get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and an HDMI cable. Hook the xoom up to the TV and browse the web or play games. Download a remote desktop client and access your computer from anywhere. Just a few things.

This, along with Drop Box and a word processing app, can allow the Xoom to replace your laptop entirely. As stated, a bluetooth keyboard and mouse will make such tasks easy.
I currently have control of seven computers, my website, and I'm working on my pc controlled entertainment system. I also have surveillance cameras tied to my desktop, which I can monitor using my Xoom from anywhere. I'll be upgrading to x & z motion control this summer.
Make an otg cable. Use USB devices.

No I haven't and I figured it'd work because u can play movies from other similar devices through USB, it basically would do like a computer and show you the files stored on the device for playback but I can't get mine to work

Did you try mounting the USB from the phone's notification menu while it was plugged in? Keep in mind that the phone usually mounts 2 drives at once (internal and external SD), so I'm not sure what the 360 would have in that realm of USB support.

Actually yes I did try that and im guessing since it does mount both at the same time, the 369 cnt catch them both since they're both from one device

I'm not sure it will mount the sd card to a 360. I know people have issues with usb equiped radios doing this.
also all share won't work. last I checked the 360 doesn't include dlna. though it could easily be added in an update ms doesn't seems interested in this as it is already upnp and a media center extender. I think they want to give any reason to have the newest updates of media player because they need wga to install and makes people want a copy of windows that's not pirated and pushes widows 7 with media center.
you would need a upnp market app or a media server with dlna. then you may be able to find media from the phone on the server and route it to the 360 with either upnp or as a media center extender.

oh that's a thought. if there are issues because it shows 2 drives you.may be able to unmount a sd card from settings beforehand. worth a shot really.

I covered that in my post. he is connected to a media center pc. you need a pc wIth win 7 or vista or xp media center if anyone still has that running to do this. on its own it doesn't support dlna. this also means you may need a copy of windows that passes windows genuine advantage. not 100% on that but i tried the whole media center extender back in the day with xp pro and added the proper files and registry keys to make it into media center (but better) also added the tablet pc files and wanted to add wii mote support but didn't have a wiimote. I had trouble getting it to work because I coulnt update media player or something. I haven't tried since windows 7 came out because I have a dlna tv.

Oh, I misunderstood the thread I found that link in. I thought Media Center was a reference to XBMC or something. Disregard my post.

its streams through your wifi network. you know how you stream movies from your pc to your 360 or ps3? yea same thing just with your phone. the free version kinda skips and doesnt work very well but i got the paid version and dont regret it at all. it's on the market try out the free version see if its what your looking for
here is my 2 cents.
the xbox can only see the main usb drive. aka. if you have a usb drive, and it has multiple partitions, it will only see the primary first partition.
this is an issue even with some portable hard drives that have a flash partition built in for their driver software, thats the only partition the xbox sees.
it also only sees fat32, and your phone is ext4 probably. or the other formats.
there could be 5 reasons it wont see it.

The internal storage is always FAT32. You're thinking of the system and app/data partitions.
Is there a upnp server app out there that allows me to access the server when not connected to the world wide web? I don't have constant connection to the internet but I do have a secondary wireless network. But for some reason apps like Imediashare and Skifta don't work on My wifi without said internet connection. (I even tried sammy's allshare app, but that just force closes on my Transformer)
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip, the Krakd rom removed the Mynet app before I knew what it was. I'll have to try it after I get home from work.
I've been searching for upnp apps, So if Mynet doesn't work either I'll try that out.

Okay so my main reasoning to purchasing this tablet was primarily based on the fact you can view pdf's for school like books and such...
Which brings me to the question of?...
Wireless Flash Drive?
Now i want to be able to wireless sync the tablet as a flash drive and transfer files for school instead of carrying around a flash drive is this possible by any means??... (Needs to be MAC compatible or no to little software towards the computer because i do not have Administrator Access on the computer side..)
Wireless streaming Solutions?
okay so i figured out a way to browse the files on my computer using my tablet using an application called File Manager but how do i stream video and music from my tablet the opposite way? (use my computers monitor and speakers wirelessly from the tablet?)
this might be what you are searching... make use of allshare...

BubbleUPnP will probably do the trick, assuming you have a client on the computer that supports DLNA/UPnP streaming.

Use "VLC Direct" you can stream music and video both ways... tablet to computer, or computer to tablet. Its not on the market right now, it got kicked off when google messed up there market and everyone accounts. go to vlcdirect.com, you should be able to download it from there and read about how to use it. Its a great app I use it daily
You do need the pro version to use all of the features

I couldn't get bubble upnp or skifta to work properly remotely. Try subsonic, it is java based and set up through a browser, so I think it should be Mac compatible. Works great to stream music and video to Android devices over 3g. As far as the files, maybe look into setting up a ftp server or just use dropbox
