Just found this in the nook color forum, and thought I would share. It takes awhile for it to find your directories, but when it does, WoW! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1270737
downloading now to check it out
Video is the same as your name. Give it a minute after it finds the files. The first time i played a video, it hung. I think it was still settling though good luck.
Thanks!
I've been waiting for 2 years (since my first android handset) for this! VLC FTW!

Heres the problem, i cant get any of the new roms working right with tcpmp at all. I usually just install the .72 rc1 cab, flv plugin, then video sites and ta da, works perfect. On these new roms (from march to current), if its not cooked in then it aint workin. Im currently using L26's v4 diamond based rom with .81 and all plugins installed and still no deal. Yes ive posted this in his thread but no answer, just it worked for me so it should work for everyone type of response. When i click on a video from video sites, tcpmp starts and displays first frame of clip, i then press play, plays maybe 1-5 seconds of 2-4 minute clips, then get the nasty wait curser of death that will spin all day if i dont hit pause and god forbid it actually load my video, back to step one. I can choos to download the clip and it works after downloading of course but cant get it to play or stream. Im looking for the best rom you guys know of that wont give me this problem because the chef took the time to make tcpmp work and cook it into their rom. Im even at the point where i dont care if i have to pay for a program to get my video site flash videos to work, usually youtube and porn. Thank you guys!
I’m also using L26 V4 with TCPMP 0.81 (will not let me upload TCPMP) and this flash video bundle, no flv plugin and when it loads there is no need to hit play.

What do u mean it wont lt u upload tcpmp? Im also using L26 V4 with .81 installed with 4 plugins that come with it and video sites (im sure the same one u posted but ill try urs) and still having this problem bro. So dang frustrating. I think thats the problem, mine doesnt load, just sits on a picture of the first frame.
Yesterday and today I tried to attach the cab I use and it fails to upload.

Oh. Still no deal my friend. I uninstalled all apps like video sites, tcpmp, etc, then soft reset. I then installed your video sites (which was the exact same one as mine) and just the .81 player cab like u said, then soft reset again. Then went to video sites, clicked on numerous videos from numerous sites, same problem. MAybe 1 out of 15 videos pllay through wit no probs but the ones that play are like 30 second clips. The others just load the first screen or frame and sits there, doesnt play on its own like u said it does after it loads because i dont think my stupid phone loads. I then wait for 10 minutes thinking my phone is loading my 2 minute clip that would only take 2 minutes to download, still nothing, press play and it shows the pause button but doesnt play anything, or plays 1-10 seconds of clip and then the wait cursor pops up, i then try to be patient and let another 10 minutes of wait cursor to spin before i press pause then play again and to my surprise, still nothing and stuck on where it stopped at the first time or better yet, the first frame.
As u can see my frustration im at the point where i dont care if i have to pay top dollar for a 3rd party app that will play any or almost any type of video from video sites or any web site without any of these problems and will work on any 6.0 or 6.1 rom on my tilt. If anyone knows of a program or app with this ability can u please post the name of it so i can purchase or download?
Better yet, anyone know of a recent good om that already has tcpmp cooked in that doesnt have these problems? I would like to stay up to date with the newest builds and roms that are released but will not sacrifice my video sites or internet flash video viewing. Whats the use of a $600 dollar device if it cant even play a damn 2 minute video clip? Ive had better video playback on my $20 razor phone back in the day.
Thank you guys again for helping me out and im sorry, just extremly frustrated!
To be honest with you, i gave up on tcpmp with flash plugin. a lot of the sites dont even work.. it'll give u an error and not even open up tcpmp my advice, is veveo vtap!
its a program that has video search and wikipedia search in one app. it searchs youtube, google video, metacafe and a couple others.
I highly recommend it!
Thanks, ill try it out. FOr now im using skyfire beta to watch flash videos (cant believe its takin this long for a flash based web broswer to finally come out of ppc). WOuld still like to get some input though on if or any apps/programs exist that will stream flash or any type of internet videos similat to tcpmp and will work on any cooked rom? DOnt mind if it costs money as long as it works and is worth the money for my tilt. Thank you!
double check your internet settings...like disable proxy or enable proxy. The AT&T roms got this little thing with the proxys. not sure if its going to work. just a suggestion. and I believe core player has the youtube stuff built in. That player might work.
Try TCPMP recompiled:

It works on most ROMS and it's a little faster

Try "yxflash" from the market. It claims to be able to play WMV, DivX & Xvid... Haven't tried it myself though.
It's a $19.99 app that has to be purchased outside the market though... I don't like the way they're trying to conduct business.
Try meridian from the market. Haven't tested xvid yet but seems to play things otherwise built in on my mytouch couldn't haven't gotten that far.

Yea. They're kinda shady since they call it free then charge you to use it.
I'm guessing, if it does actually work, he doesn't want some rooted dirtbag downloading and refunding to add to the plethora of pirated apps. I haven't seen the app yet, but I figure if allows google checkout, it should be as safe as any other purchase via google checkout.
isn't there a samsung android phone with divx support builtin? I'm pretty sure I read that some where. Wonder if someone is working on some sort of port...
there are two android phones which play divx/xvid out of the box. one from samsung and the other from lg. getting the drivers/media player ported from either of these phones would be a big plus from me. i know i could convert media before hand, however i use my memory card as a "memory stick" which i bring in to work to watch on the PC during lunch. being able to play the same files on the phone when i'm on the bus/train would be so much easier.
try doubletwist if you're on Windows/Mac... no linux version yet
it will convert them to play on android by just dragging them over to the device...
I can confirm that yxflash works on my G1. I just download a divx movie (about 700 mb) and play it. Unfortunately the frame rate is about 15 f/s. Hope on Nexus One it will be much better.

btw, they still have xmas, you can get 50% off while using coupon code "xmas".
Still too expensive for my opinion, but hey, they come from the apple universum where all have too much money.
Now this post isnt going to be of much use because i couldnt find all the links i was after..... however
There were people requesting the samsung xvid/divx player be ported out back on the G1. Seems that one of XDA's members lbcoder has some decent incite on it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566591&highlight=divx
He posted
divx is just an implementation of iso mpeg4.
So...
to make it play you need to;
1) ensure that bitrate and resolution are low enough to be properly handled,
2) package it in a compatible container (mp4 works)
3) ensure that the AUDIO is encoded in a compatible manner (vorbis is great, but others also work, mp3, aac, etc.)
4) ensure that there is no crap in the file showing that it is divx because it simply doesn't know what divx *IS* -- make it read as mpeg4 -- this does NOT require reencoding the file, just using a SANE header.

I thought $10 wasn't bad. It plays awesome on the N1. It takes me 10 minuted to download a Divx movie, but 30 mins to convert. Over the course of several months, I would save a ton of time converting movies. I can download directly to the SD card via browser and play with yxflash.
Yes, having to purchase outside the market is shady, but I have contacted them several times with issues and they resolved them within one day.
Found the app via market at first glance i thought nah **** it because of the bad rating.. at second glance i actually took the time to read the comments, turns out most of the comments where bad/laggy playback, witch was partly due to Magic / Heros hardware, and the resizing requirements..
ive installed the trial, and it plays beautifully.. although sometimes i do get some lines across the screen, but they are hard to notice...
Price is still a bit high thou! :/ im gonna give it a month or two to see if a cheaper alternative shows up, and hopefully by that time Google will have opened up the market in Denmark.
used yxflash to play an hd copy of ice age 3 in xvid, ran nearly perfect, every so often there is some frame skip
Works great, sound goes off sync if you stretch the video though.
Just moved an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm over and it played flawlessly. at 100% size. No conversion.

MOD EDIT; deleted.
ARGH nevermind.. this was already posted. My bad.
trying it out
While this is awesome, I have had some issues. After a couple minutes, the audio and video lose sync. Does anyone else have this problem?
I also do not like not having any setting options, but if the above issue gets fixed than that's enough for me.
i played one video that i had on my phone. the audio completely cuts out after like 3 secs. i'll keep the app for now but i'm not too impressed with it so far.
I don't think discussion of the product is a problem with the mods but posting links is (discussion of this went on about a week or two ago)
I tried watching the first episode of Testees (xvid) on my phone last week and on several tries, it kept skipping through several minutes of video when it kept hitting the same location. Was able to watch it on my laptop without any issues. I'm looking forward to an update so I can try it again.
The only thing missing is SMB support.
I've removed the link in the op. Please do not post links to this download.
I watched a full divx movie that I got from a questionable source......it played fine. I was impressed. I got the link from Modaco forum. It is in beta so I wouldn't be too hard on the dev.

Google is full of Rockpl.beta
Its great...watched a few mma events and a few wmv samples all worked fine.
An HD. Mov from a camera worked but super low framerate but surprised it played at all.
Great work so far for beta.
audio and video are great for me
remembers last paused position (flakey for me in yxplayer)
having some issues with the screen calibration. very few occassions after loading the player i touch the middle of the screen it thinks i am pressing home button or pauses the video etc
all in all im happy with it
VLC for android is still very pre-alpha, but it's now possible to build it for android.
Here's the directions for those that want to actually do it themselves:
http://wiki.videolan.org/AndroidCompile
or see the attachment for a compiled apk.
Nice! I love VLC!
gave this a whirl, pulled up my videos, tried to play several, they crash after a few choppy seconds. All videos are .avi files of t.v. shows that play fine in v player.

That's why it's pre-alpha with the big disclamer when you load it up
It runs no better for me, but I was interested in how it handled resizing larger sized videos like something encoded in avc. It's no better for that, but it never crashed on me.
VLC project has been working on it for at least a year or two, so it's nice to see they finally put something together. It's pretty much all c/c++ code (the normal libraries that VLC uses) with some JNI to tie it to the User Interface in android.
This is pretty cool. I look forward to the day this is good to go. I have always been a VLC fan.

Would love to see VLC dominate on the Android platform. Trying alpha now! Thanks

I can get it to stream video when using the local network, but getting it to stream over 4g isn't working, i just get a black screen.
put my comp in the dmz, no help, but it certainly seems to be the router causing the issue, anyone else run into this?
I suspect this may be since the Andriod update a few weeks ago.
I have several types of videos saved on my andriod and now it wont play any wmv type.
The notice I get is "this video format (wmv3) is not supported"
They used to play.
I uninstalle the app and reinstalled it. . No joy.
I took a couple videos off the android via usb and they play on my pc. I put them back and they wont play. I also moved other wmv videos over to test and they wont play either.
What can Try to fix this?
Why does everyone keep asking the same question over and over? If you search, you'll find the answers already.

Ok so not being very smart with a smart phone, how do i load that custom codek into my mx player so it will play wmv again.
seems like a bad move on mx part to cut wmv support.
Ok i read over a bunch of those and followed the first ones instructions. Took me a bit to figure out which codex to use the aio was all in one.
I did that and it works. Yoo hoo.
So why did mx cut out wmv? That seems like such a bad decision.
