iOS on android?

well i have the inspire im currently running MIUI on here since its pretty similar to iOS but im really wanting to just be able to run iOS on it...is there not some way to do it like the iphone does with android?
before anyone posts and says "why would you want to do that" go ahead and stop yourself i just want to iphone seems to be a simpler system and has better games..so if anyone knos how to go about doing this let me kno

People won't start flaming because they want it, it'll be just the opposite. It's a question about a rom that isn't in development and doesn't exist It belongs in general.

Exactly, why buy an Inspire in the first place if you want ios (which will most likely never happen on our phones).

Flames aside, most of iOS isn't open source. It's core, Darwin, is but it's ARM port is not. Really, it'd be re-inventing the wheel just to have a BSD-based base instead of a Linux one that already works.

There currently is no way, and probably never will be.
And there's a reason they managed to run Android on an iPhone and no one's tried to run iOS on an Android phone........
Besides, don't you think MIUI beats the pants off iOS? IMO, MIUI says "Hey iPhone. Check this out."

Have you ever tried to reverse engineer something that's encrypted? I have... it's not pretty.

Its a great os but too restricted by comparison

In addition to extremely difficult and/or painstaking, there are legal ramifications to worry about. Apple has a habit of ripping the heads off of people who infringe on their patents/copyrights. Don't think that this board isn't monitored in one way or another. I doubt anyone would want to risk legal action to make a ROM that probably wouldn't be of much interest to the Android community as a whole.

I love Android over iOS for everything, except the lack of 3D games =(.
I would love to have Ace Combat, Metal Gear Solid, etc. on my phone... :/.

Just as the article mentions, its like the echo, now i personally dont like it as a phone but a tablet...idk tbh now the whole concept really looks like a 3ds lol, you guys think this thing will sell? What will be the major selling factor? hardware? bootloader? updates?

np man i might see if i can pick this up, save a little money, i got an evo soon to be a 3d too, for my phone, and as of now im rocking the ipad 2 as my tab, hopefully these new tabs can take advantage of honeycomb

Honestly right now the iPad looks more appealing than any Android OS tablet. I think Android needs to work on polishing Android for tablets a bit more.

That Sony dual screen is just atrocious.

Idk about that. Have u seen the moto zoom. They r pretty polished and r running honeycomb. Very responsive and very fast

Just report the thread at the top right hand corner to see it go away. I feel like I shouldn't visit Android Central on a daily basis because I can find all the articles on the XDA Evo section.

I don't doubt that this dual screen idea could be more of a future norm, so long as it is done right. Have gotten some hands on time with the Echo and while you sort of get the idea, it just really seems tacky. At least I came away from the Echo with that feeling. I'm more interested in dual screen displays than 3D as well.

If they'd build this so that there's a flush (seemless) connection between the screens I'd seriously consider these ....as it is their just.... stupid.

Keep the thread on subject. I am moving it to General as it does not belong in the EVO section.

The concept is nice, however I just cant get over the gap in the middle between the two screens, it really ruins the experience for me. Now if they do it RIGHT and allow true multitasking between each window this will be a good competitor; the screens are 5.5 inches so that's just big enough to allow full featured browsing/operation on each screen.

Will there ever be official WP7 ported to Android?

I'm sorry, what?? How so? How is this any different than the people who wanted, *and got*, Android ported to their WinMo 6 devices (HD2, Vogue, Touch Pro 1 & 2 etc.)? Those people got their whopper, took them over to McDonald's, took them inside and ate them there

Yes thank you I understand that. Winmo 6 and earlier were not open source either. It didn't keep people from doing all kinds of amazing stuff with it. I know that as of now there's no real way for people to get wp7 onto android phones but it doesnt mean it won't or can't ever happen. Personally, I don't really care as I think it kinda blows anyways but I'm all for people hacking whoppers into McD's restaurants.

P.S. hate to admit, but Samsung has done a better job this time. I just prefer looks and feel of Sensation. But after experiencing few problems with it , if I had a choice again, I'd probably go SGS2. Not a fan of Samsung or HTC, I'm a fan of good quality equipment.
Just read somewhere that nexus prime is going to be Samsung parts in metal body. Now that is something to look out for.

Yeah I know. Both of them are top of the range, high end amazing devices. Don't see why it's so sensitive. Just depends on your preference. For me, the look and resolution of the Sensation took me to the dark side

I was on G+ on a CM developer and on the post about Sensation port this guy was just insulting CM7 saying it sucks, yet it takes time and effort to develop. I'm a developer myself (not for Android) and I know how it feels to have your work disrespected.

Infuse 4G or GSII

Hey guys so I'm considering purchasing an Infuse 4G through Rogers but I'm wondering am I better to wait for the upcoming release of the Galaxy S II? My main issue is not the hardware of the phones but rather the dev community, right now I have a Captivate and that community is fairly active. So how is development for the Infuse?

Daayum...lol. I would say right now the community has slowed down since the sgsII was released, but as soon as official GB comes out, a lot of roms will get updated and newer dev's will be cooking up new roms.

If you want a phone that has a bigger screen amd looks a little better then go with tbe infuse. If you can not stand giant phones and want super powers go with the GS2. If you want a little of everything, (me) wait for the Prime or galaxy nexus whatever it will be called.

Given on-contract pricing? Assuming the Rogers variant is as similar to the I9100 as the I777 is, GS2 without a doubt.
The Infuse is a hybrid bastard child that's somewhere in between the original GS and the GS2, with a bunch of weird crap (like a Bluetooth and GPS chipset NO ONE else on the planet seems to use) thrown in. It's a developer's nightmare.
I didn't realize how bad it was until a week with the GS2. The GS2 doesn't have any of the stupid proprietary modules the Infuse had in the kernel. The GS2 uses a more standard and common Bluetooth chipset. The GS2's GPS chipset is vastly superior. Most importantly - the I777 is so similar to the I9100 that tracking Samsung's fairly rapid and regular updates and porting them over to the I9100 is pretty easy. With the Infuse, we have nothing to track - so if a carrier (like yours) releases ****ty firmware and never updates it, we spend months waiting for slightly less ****ty firmware.
God I hate the CG2900, god I hate UXKG3...

Its looking like after rebates its going to be $0.01 CAD also I would have to wait for the GS2 as its not out on Rogers yet but is coming. The Rogers variant is known as the i977 not sure what that entails to be honest.

That's... odd... You sure it's an I977? That seems AWFULLY close to the Infuse's model number I997/I997R).

Yeah I actually work for Rogers, our POS lists the device as a SGH-I977 which isnt surprising because there are slight variations for instance I have a Captivate which on AT&T is an I897 but my Canadian Captivate is an I896

LMAO... The best ownage I have seen in quite some time.
The SGS2 is not enough of a bump in technology to persuade me to give up my infuse. The infuse rocks and does have a growing community of wonderful devs.

I don't understand your comment or his. I LOVE my Infuse 4g and I think Android is great. Just because I don't hate on Apple or give iOS 0 credit I have to hate my phone or want something else?
My misunderstanding to think that we could be adults and have discussions other than how great the Infuse is.
