Noticed recently that I no longer have the power menu when holding down the power button. Screen still turns off/on, but none of the shutdown, restart, etc options come up.
Using Android Revolution HD™ 6.1.1 and everything has been fine until a few days back. Read another similar topic where it was suggested to use the camera, but that didn't seem to do anything in this case. I've added a shutdown/restart widget, which seems to work, but looking to see if I can get the regular power menu back somehow.
Any other suggestions besides re-flashing?
is fastboot turned off in settings-power, when it does reboot it might not be powering down all the way. did you flash any mods?
I have the same problem with 6.1.1 on a Desire HD.
I installed Advance Power Menu v0.2.
Fastboot is turned off.
the issue with this can be resolved by activating secure credentials. go to settings, security and check use secure credentials and you'll be able to access your power menu again
Your right, that worked, thank you. Can I ask why that works, when it had been working previously without that setting enabled?
After enabling that option and confirming it worked, disabled the option again, and still working. Is this just something that happens with Android Revolution, or other roms? Never had this happen when I used to be running stock.

It's an odd bug on 6.1 :/ not sure if it's a bug in the base that was used to build it though

Hello
I had checked advanced boot menu in xposed module gravity. Once I unchecked that, the poweroff menu came back.
thanks

Im running evo 4g but running a 3.0 sense rom and believe the settings are the same. You go to Settings > Sound > Vibrate(vibration feedback for calls and notifications)

hi, Synergies.. ok theres a problem with this tip. after i unchecked this option, i was able to make calls without the vibrate. but after a while, i still get vibrates.. what do i do now?
First thing, go back into those settings and make sure that setting is still unchecked. If it is, try restarting your phone. If that doesnt solve it, try turning that setting on, restart your phone, then turn that setting off and restart your phone again. If it still doesnt work, check to see if theres an update for your rom and also, go into settings > system updates > and update your profile and update your prl.
Adter trying all of these options, it should work again. If not i will try to help you further.

hi Synergi4es14.. 1st thing, i tried to restart and check on/off the option but that doesnt work. i then tried to do what you suggested which is to go into 'system updates', but i cant find it. all i find is 'software updates'.
maybe theres a way to modify the build file.

There is a new version of your rom that your running, goto your rom's thread and make sure you install the latest version of it, maybe that will help fix your issue also if what we discussed before hasn't worked.

Hey all
So recently I turned my NFC settings on by ticking the NFC box on my SNS and the box just turned gray and I can't change it. I factory resetted the phone and rooted it and after restoring phone the box was unticked and good to go. Now I accidentally ticked the box again and can't untick it. I tried factory resetting, wiping cache, resetting it through CWM bootloader, nothing works to untick the damn box. Anyone got a solution to this?
Having this on decreases battery life by around 30% so it's really a problem.
Help please?
Did you try a different rom? Or maybe kernel?
You can use root explorer or equivalent to delete /system/app/nfc.apk
I remember having this problem on some early gingerbread ROMs

I know Samsung doesn't post changelogs for their new updates but I just wanted to make a thread for the MG3 update and maybe future updates to point out the changes in the firmware. If you notice any changes, please post it here and I will give it a "thanks" if I can confirm that it's real and I'll put it in the OP (along with your name of course).

WIFI Broken after MG3 firmware update
Just went ahead with my S4 (i9505) MG3 firmware update via Kies (the firmware update version is PDA:MGA / PHONE:MGA / CSC:MG3 (BTU)), everything installed without a hitch, phone rebooted, AND WIFI IS NOW BROKEN!! Meaning the Quick Toggle remains grayed-out even if you press it to turn it on, and going into System Settings and trying to turn on WiFi from there also doesn't work-- the WiFi is simply not turning on! This is a MASSIVE bug which is utterly unacceptable being in an OEM update!!
I've since restored my NANDroid backup to go back to i9505XXUAMDM. At least the WiFi works in that firmware. Yeesh.

I had the wi-fi bug a few days after I flashed the MG3 firmware (wi-fi toggle, both on settings and quick settings are greyed out and stuck at connecting). If you're running the international version you should flash the latest modem.

Ok.. Le me explain a little. I installed No Led and it requires accesabilty option in order to function. When i let it have accesability it turns activates the Talkback function besides of the phone having the Talback function unticked... Heard that also other applications haves the same issue so it is a 4.2.2 issue....

That means that so far I have not had the need to install an app that needs accessibility which then turns on the talkback function.

I got aa notification for an update for 5.1 so I did it and everything went smoothly on my boost Mobile moto g but now the home button does not work. Ican slide it up to get to Google now but home stopped working completely. I have to use back button it close apps to get home.
Also external links no longer work and it seems to lock phone when I click one until I push the back button. Also occasionally the Mobile ID thing crashes on me. Not sure what that means .
Any help is appreciated, I've been searching for answers for a week and nothing
Thanks

mine was in 5.1 and that didn't happen, are you rooted? if so, try to backup all your data and try resetting to factory, because otherwise that's a very weird case...
It was completely stock from the box prior. All I did was run the boost Mobile update from check for updates
Same here.
I'm installed Euphoria-OS (based on Android 5.1.1) and now I don't get notifications, I cannot change apps and my home button stopped to work.
update:
I tried the Cabron rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-carbonrom-t3211516) and home button now works. But i don't know why...
So can I root 5.1 ?and install a new rom?

try to do Factory reset....its happen when gapps messed up
Factory reset fixed problems. Thanks a million guys ! Gonna try to root it now since its all reset now anyway
Hello there. I have had the same problem. The way to solve it (temporarily until the next time) is to go to users, and log into guest, then log out (by going to users again in the guest account and pressing 'remove guest'). This resets the functionality of your home key in your regular account.
Restart your system ui. If you have root access get rom toolbox. You can then add a rebooter widget on home screen. I have the same issue on all kernels I have tested so far. Hope it helps.

I am running 5.1 and found today that when I pressed my Home button, it did not take me home. I didn't want to reset my phone, and your answer solved the problem for me, so you made my day !
When I chose Guest, it restarted my phone and logged me in with my account, not a Guest account, but the Home button works normally now.
THANK YOU. :victory:

Hi all,
I have a sprint HTC U11. I have TWRP installed and the phone rooted via SuperSU. I installed the Wifi Tether Router app and got it to work. However, the app did something to mess up my WIFI and I am no longer able to turn WIFI on at all anymore. It just says "Error" in the WIFI section when I open the phone settings.
Can someone please tell me how to restore all of the factory WIFI settings to get rid of this problem?
Thanks.

I suppose you have also tried this from their support page (if I googled correct app):
Q: After using the app I can not use WiFi, I can not connect to WiFi networks
uncheck the "Scan Always Aviable" on WiFi Advanced Settings on your phone and reboot your phone

I have relocked my bootloader as I am selling this one as Solar Red is on it's way so I cannot test it.
I might be completely wrong, but there is that or similar setting now in Location -> three dots menu in top right corner -> search -> enable wifi scan or something..
I have no other ideas except obvious ones or googled ones, if you uninstalled app, rebooted and still doesn't work you can maybe contact developer or someone here uses that app and can help you..

No, I am not familiar with that process.
I believe that is flashing without wiping, on top of the existing rom install. I'm not sure that this will help; but that is what I've seen discussed as dirty flash....
So this is a conceptual only answer.
I am having the exact same issue. Anyone come up with a fix?
