Yes. I remember doing it a while back. Find an app for winmo called TBexport i believe. It lets you export all your contacts to a file in your phones/external memory. Then you have to make a gmail account on your computer (you need one anyways to run android) and there should be an option in gmail to import contacts. Find the file your phone made from tbexport and import that. Hope i helped!
Edit: i forgot to add, once you do the last step, youre done. Because android will sync all your contacts from gmail automatically.

not entirely sure but have you tried microsoft myphone? im using it to sync everything apart storage card.
I don't know about Facebook seeing as I've never used it but PIM backup can backup all of your contacts with any amount of phone numbers and addresses. You can backup and restore directly from your HD2 with PIM backup so it's probably the easiest solution.
Is your Pc runnning with windows... i thinks so because you said smthg. about outlook. If it´s so, an you have win7 or Vista then use Windows Mobile device center
You can select which contents you want to save wand wich not...
Sry for my english, I´m from austira
microsoft myphone does the backup of contacts and if you have them linked to facebook it keeps them when restoring
Google Contacts is working great for me

none of the ways said already will keep the links,
i find it annoying too, cause u have to "re link them to fb"
there is one way of doing it, which is to get the facebook app.
keep it on the SD card, that way when u reflash, it wont dissapear

[Q] How to sync Windows (or iPhone) contacts to Tab?

Ok, I've given up trying to figure this out on my own, simply because the unfortunate keywords involved will show me Google results on just about anything other than what I need.
I want to sync my Windows contacts to Tab. Kies software does not see them. I don't have an Outlook, since Windows 7 64 bit has live mail instead. I've tried exporting contacts to VCF format, and then importing them through Kies but that didn't help either.
I also have an iPhone 3Gs that syncs to the same computer, using those same Windows contacts without a problem. Is there a way to get the contacts from iPhone?
I may be asking too much, but I'd also love to keep my contact photos that are neatly attached to many of my contacts.
This is really driving me crazy and any help would be appreciated.
Why not try exporting your contacts to CSV and then import the file into your Google address book (Contacts) online?

I don't really use Gmail. I have private server POP mail accounts and I keep my contacts on my iPhone, laptop and home PC.
Am I to get used to idea I'm gonna have to start using Google for e-mail, contacts, calendar etc.?
Use contact manager on your iphone to create a CSV and then email the file through the app to any email address you use, then on your tab log into that email account and save the CSV to your tab, then on the tab to into contacts and select import and it should find the file and loads them
that's how I did it

Export to VCF and import that into Google's Contacts. You don't need to really use gmail if you don't want to, but the gmail address book is the most convenient way of keeping track of your contacts. Plus you can then edit them from any PC with a web browser..
VCF (vCard) can embed images. I don't know if M$ Live Mail can write VCF with embedded images, though. But thats what you should try.
Just sync it with outlook contacts u can update with iphone and then pass to the tab. That's what in doing and when I change anything on the tab I just create a new sync so the.next sync with the.iphone will be clean and won't replace any contact.

Go to your address book > go to contact > press trackball >
press menu and select Copy to Sim Phone Book >
press menu again and select save.
You cannot do this in masse, only one at a time.
Or
I'm not real familial with RIM but you might be able to back up with Google, Exchange, or what ever RIM uses and from there put them on your Google contacts, and they will show up on your phone.

Not sure you can add a Hotmail/Live account on an Android to sync it with the phone book.
It's easier just to import your hotmail contacts on your gmail account and start from there

How to import. Kindly help.
I think you actually can sync Hotmail / Windows Live to Android, but I haven't checked. In any case, there are a few ways to do the export/import; one of them is to sign into Hotmail and then find the option to export your contact list to a file. Then, sign into Gmail and find the equivalent option to import the file into your contacts. Any search engine, or the help pages for either site, can tell you how to do this.

He sounds kinda lazy,
anyway I think it is much easier to import everything straight from gmail:
https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#settings/accounts
In my opinion, Android UI is a mess, at least till Gingerbread v. 2.3, which is the most common distribution. Especially for what concern the phone book, you can add Facebook, Whatsapp, Skype, Viber etc accounts (can't find Hotmail account), and link them together (if it works!)
Hotmail contacts got Sync. Thank god. Heaving a sigh of relief. Thanks anyways guys ...

You can use either Gmail or Outlook app to sync contacts between Android and Windows phone.

Conatcts not saving to Google Contacts

Hi guys,
I assumed that with all Android devices nowadays, any contact I add will be by default saved to Google Contacts.
just browsed my Google Contacts online and found that almost all of my recent phonebook additions are missing from Goog Contacts.
Isn't there a way to have them saved and synced forever??
Thanks,
TD

Go under system setting then account and touch google account and turn sync on. If your under T-Mobile they have their own account sync
After confirming you have Google account and synced, check in PEOPLE app that the contacts are actually saved as "Google" accounts.
If not, you can always go to people->menu->manage contacts->copy contacts->from phone->to Google.
Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.
I think the issue was that by default, the contacts were saving as "Outlook" contacts, hence why they weren't appearing in my G Contacts.
Not sure why the default is set to Outlook - is there a way to change this?
Also, it appears there is no way to migrate contacts added and synced to Outlook to G Contacts.. Anyone know?
Cheers,
TD

No need for Outlook extract:
Get into people on your phone, choose in the menu: manage contacts, copy contacts, choose the source account (Outlook in your situation) and then the destination (Gmail) and Done.
