Hey guys, i just stumbled upon this last night when i was googling something about the infuse.
droidangel.blogspot . com/2011/09/at-usa-i997ucki1-android-235
EDIT: Apparently i can't read and just noticed this said UCKi1 and not UCKI4... sorry for the useless waste of space everyone....
It is, the KI1 shown on samfirmware is the KI4
If you download it, the file name is I997UCKI4_UC_ATT.rar also
Thanks Uncle Irish, just realized that myself.
np
If you choose to run it, some are having wifi issues (not working properly). You'll get a rainbow static screen on boot also. Not ready for prime time, but it ran well for a few hours while I farted around with it.

ahh alrighty, i gotcha. I just recently flashed back to stock from S7. I might just wait for official GB before trying anything else
Is this working properly? I think you need Kies for installing this. Can anyone give me a working like to download kies for infuse?
Works Awesome
I am having a blast with this. HDMI works great!!

odin not kies.
the leaks run well in stock form. there is the issue with rainbows on boot. and with a custom kernel there is the issue with wifi.
I deodexed ki3 not ki4 but it had problems with the email app not installing and dropping cell connection with the stock kernel and ran slow but odexed It seems pretty good. maybe I need to use different deodexed scripts.
Have you installed the leaked version? Is it buggy & what does it change?

This was super easy.
I first obtained the Froyo .Tar file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905042
Then I installed it via Odin with a 512 Pit. The 512.pit file can be obtained from samfirmwares.com
After I got it booted I Rooted with Super 1 click http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
After that I installed Supercurio's Voodoo 5 kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870760
Edit:
if you need to change your APN settings to get 3G data working again instructions for doing so are here http://androidforums.com/823226-post4.html
again I used the 512 pit and put the kernel in PDA.
Worked like a champ

I'm on AT&T. So far it's seems smooth, it definitely needed the voodoo lagfix though it was very very sluggish without it.
At&t for me too.
Big questions - gps and internet.
How are they and how do they compare.
I may give it a shot later but I remember how limited jj4 and ji6 was.

I discovered a pretty major bug this morning. The Rogers release has the internal SD card bug. It won't mount on my computer.
Mine is working? I get two drives when mounting.

Hi, can some one Please post o directme to a little bit more detailed guide on how to do this! I'm just a little bit lost here trying to update my AT&T Captivate using this method as is the first time doing it.
Thanks!
Edit: I did it and everything Went Just Fine!!!!! Thanks!!
I found that when I mounted internal sd as mass storage my pc (windows 7x64) it would show as a cd rom drive. If I put it in media player mode it worked fine.

You shouldn't have to, when you use odin it pretty much starts from scratch, do a master clear first to be sure.
i keep gettin an error while in recovery mode, saying it cant validate the package...
anyone got ideas?
I see that the gtx465x server is down (won't let me download the ROM from the Rom Manager).
Is there a way to manually download?
I was thinking of just downloading it and putting it on my SD-Card and than doing the flashing from there (is this even possible)?
Thank's so much

All Infused v2 releases were pulled temporarily by gtg, with the exception of a 2.0.3 test release halfway through the thread which is still available I think. (However it's at this point an unsupported "use at your own risk" release. If you haven't found it on your own it's probably not for you...)
It has always been possible to flash without ROM manager, in fact in my opinion flashing through ROM Manager seemed more likely to fail.
THANK YOU
"All Infused v2 releases were pulled temporarily by gtg"
Why?
Also, since I just got my infuse today, and I have the time, should I try a different ROM (if there are any) that is recommended? I will try anyone that is better than the stock one.
That being said, I am the kind of person who prefers speed (!) above anything else (looks and effects and whatnot)
Thanks again

Well then the Gingerbread ROMs are not for you. The Rogers RIL seems to have data speed issues on the AT&T network. I'm happy with it as I live in the boonies and don't see 4G speeds anyway and probably won't until I'm due for a phone upgrade - I bought the phone for the nice screen.
This issue and poor user attitude are why gtg pulled the ROMs for a while. They are back, but the mods are paying MUCH closer attention to the thread this time.

Big dog Infuse I997 doin some Hellraising
this is the UCKI3 leak deodexed and packaged with entropy's daily driver kernel.
it is CWM flashable for all to try but it is my first deodex and this is a test build from samsung so expect issues.
the kernel from the odin package gives me unreliable cell connections. i will post it later for those that want hdmi and i hope others experience with it is different.
there will be more to come on this, i need to come up with a good rom name then the debloating and stock app modding can begin. i plan to atleast remove the battery full notification, theme the launcher (because atleast in froyo the launcher needed to suport hdmi so im not sure i can just use gtg's great launcher) theme the notification bar and who knows what else.
when att releases it officially i will certainly move on to that as a base.
the link is below
flash me if you are brave
edit:
the known issues are that
-entropy's kernel and hellraiser dont seem to like my dock or car dock , no audio over usb (this is not unique to this rom on my phone)
-crazy rainbows if you use the stock kernel (not packaged with the rom for the reason that the incomplatible bootloaders bork recovery, if you are used to using odin you probably dont need this rom as it is still basically stock)
edit:
hdmi supported kernel is now attached. warning! this has no recovery! let the media scanner run before opening the camera or previews will be rainbows.
edit:
-the cell connection with the att kernel can be unreliable but it "seems" to be better if you shut down the phone in flight mode and restart.
-the email app is broke. im not working on a fix yet.
-wifi doesnt work with a rogers based kernel
this whole thing is a learning experience for me. i'm certainly not a gtg or linuxbozo. far from it infact.

You can always pull the modem.bin from the ZIP, and push it to your phone manually, although I don't remember where it goes, someone else will probably say it.
That's what I'll do when I get home, back to my Infuse (took my Inspire to school today so that my friend can play with it, lol).

Its been available for I think over 2 months now. ATT just sucks. But yes, there is an official GB update but that update has been on the forums as an unofficial release (KK4) for a long while. I highly recommend the update and then I recommend immedaitely flashing a custom rom as the stock update isnt much of an improvement upon 2.2 Froyo.

Has anyone tried this ROM for a decent amount of time yet? I'm just curious for stability purposes. I'm having decent luck with ICS, but until things smooth out a little, I'm contemplating just switching to something stable. I have no idea if this meets that description though
Yep. Have it rooted with corn kernel and its smooth and fast enough for me.

The "official" upgrade is the KK4 build that leaked about 3 months ago. They're exactly the same. So if you've tried the stock KK4 or any KK4-based custom ROM then you've experienced it.
I'm running a KK4-based ROM. It's reasonably stable; however, it's much smoother and (for me) more stable if you flash the most recent Corn kernel (7.06) on top of it.

It's not that I didn't search (in fact I already discovered the thread you linked to), it's that we're looking for a one-click method rather than using odin. Are there any solutions for the problems we're having with Super One Click? Or perhaps another one-click solution that we're not familiar with?
There are two threads in this forum just below this one that provide all the info and files you need. Take a look. Worked for me ( and thanks to OPs for that). Flash gb, then a kernel that gives you root. I tried a few, like corn 7x best. Were not any one clicks out there for gb root a month ago, may not be yet.

Download the kernel file directly to your phone, use an app from market to flash it, no odin. Try SGS.

There are no one click methods that I know of. You really should learn to use Odin. Its not hard at all and opens alot of doors as to what you can do with your phones. I mean, its laid out step by step in that thread. Just follow instructions. I imagine we all can do that.

Ok I'm looking for somthing simple... And there are tons of UCLB3 leaked roms that have been modded and I just get so much lag on the lock screen - I have used the "Heimdall return to stock UCLB3" which does not have the lag. Tried another ROM via CWM that was "stock" with the daily driver kernel (lagged like hell). CWM to stock kernel with the ROM that was marked stock - still lagged.
I could not for the life of me get the Heimdall one click (above) to root with OneClick or the batch available. So I'm looking for somthing based off UCLB -leaked or the release with not much more then a root on it, And the correct Kernel whihc at this point I have no clue what it should be.
Currently I'm running:
FWV
2.3.6
BBV
I997UCLB3
Kernel
2.6.35.7-I997RUXKG3-CL366622
BN
GIBGERBREAD.UCLB3
I know this may seem easy, but to me this is getting fustrating. I have used so many roms... and the best one with the least lag was the return to stock - which I couldn't root (I have rooted many phones)
Any help would be great, or links/suggestions.
What ROMs did you try? Lag...wow...not on any the roms I've loaded....think your install has something to do with your lag....
Do you see the links in my signature if you're on your pc click those links....do some reading....
..I'm humble enough to say it could be my installs... but it's kinda hard to mess up a CWM flash - I'm clearing everything prior. The majority of the lag is on the unlock screen.
As for Roms.. Serendipity...Revolution... and a few others I'm not sure it it's a rom issue or a kernel issue.
I was just a little thrown off by the one click to factory (in your sig) gave me no lag, but I at least get lag on the unlock on all others.

Well then..."Joe Know's -Links-"
The DEV Rom is working nice, like I before all I can see is the missed bloat and for some of us who may use our devices for work and need to seem semi professional by responding from the correct email, email.apk. Other than that a toggle for the odd-ball animations would be nice... it may grow on me, the jury is out right now.
I'll run this for a while and possible fash over a differnt kernel or two and see what I come up with.

I suspect that the lockscreen lag you're seeing is related to underclocking when the phone is locked... Potentially with one of the Infusion kernels.
Consider running Entropy's kernel.
Or the stock kernel... But that locks you out of stuff like CWM and Voodoo Sound / Lagfix.
