Hi guys, First official post, although I've been a long time reader.
Anyways I'll cut to the chase. I just started using Viper ROM RC1.3 on my Evo3D and I know you need a custom kernel to overclock. However, Do you need a custom kernel to run the dameon at its default settings that viperboy included with the rom?
Thanks everyone!

Hello everyone,
I recently flashed Evervolv 1.0.1bs rom on my droid inc. and i love it. However I would like to set up my overclocking again. I was running hydra kernal before I reflashed. Im not sure if i need to change kernals or if I can just use something like setcpu (hate that app)
If this was asked somewhere else im sorry i looked but im still new to all this so i could have overlooked a post.
Hello,
I saw Mike1986 posting in the Faux kernel thread that using the first time reset kernel before flashing the actual Faux kernel (in this case 0.2.3. 9b) will delete the ramdisk tweaks that Mike1986 made in his Android Revolution HD 4.1.4. ROM for the HTC Sensation.
Because I didn't now this at that time I used the first time reset kernel as was posted in the Faux kernel thread before flashing the actual kernel.
My question is how I can regain the tweaks that Mike1986 made without reinstalling the ROM (and my apps).
Sorry to ask this here instead of the thread about the ROM which Mike1986 made, but I don't seem to have rights to put in a question in the developers threads, even as I am an IT specialist myself and using custom ROMS for my previous phone, present phone and present tablet.

Hi,
The easiest way to regain your tweaks would be to re-install the ROM.
Just wipe cache partition and dalvik.
You would only lose any mods you have installed.
All your apps would remain.
This will also re-install the original kernel.
Is it safe to install a new kernel (like matr1x 19.0) that's based on ICS on a gingerbread ROM like CM7?
I am asking because my friend's Nexus S is limited to the current ROM because it was given to her for free for a sociology study, so it's recording data. I'm looking to install a new kernel for overclocking, BLN, and so forth.
Thanks.
Is this a serious question?
No. It won't boot. Just leave it alone if it's a work phone. When the study is over you can put franco's old gb kernel on it.
Hello everybody,
I'm looking for a good kernel for an ICS rom (I'm still on stock 4.0.4).
I have been looking at [Kernel][S4 ICS][10 DEC][SENSE] Beastmode BRICKED Ville [Linaro -O3][3.0.56].
I have a few questions about that kernel:
1) does it support init.d scripts?
2) does it improve multitasking in any way? Other kernels use zRam for this purpose, but I don't understand if this kernel does that too. Has "Google Snappy Compression" (mentioned in the features) something to do with this?
3) will I need to use a 3rd party app (like kerneltuner) in order to undervolt? And will the undervolt stick when shutting down the phone?
4) will I be able to go back to the stock kernel by restoring a backup with TWRP?
Those features are implemented in Fusion kernel, although it's no longer mantained...
Thank you in advance, it's my first time studying the kernel subject, sorry for bothering.
Hey Guys,
got a few Questions about the phone.
I'm using the Paranoid Rom 4.1.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890464
My Question is, which rom's am i able to use?
When i tried to flash the sense rom like bulletproof i was unable to use the wifi so i guess those are sense specific .

Another problem im confronted with, sometimes starting usb storage reboots my phone.
