You need to either flash a rom like Coredroid or cook something up in the uot kitchen. Not sure if there are any metamorphs floating around, but I don't think so.

And where did helixlauncher originate? Here on xda.
Look through the forums. market apps are themed by xda members, not the app devs, and not morphed ( and as such probably unauthorized, by the app dev. May be I dunno)
Helix is an exception, not the rule, because it started here.

Not to a> change it in the app drawer and b> change the widget (which uses the same icon but overlays the # of unread texts on it).
Would love to see different colored Handcent widgets...let's hope the dev gives us permission.
u can theme everything with handcent which i love except that boring grey popup. The popup on the chompsms application is so much nicer i wish the handcent one was more like that. I have tried chompsms but i keep getting a network error when people send me a mms saying that it couldnt be downloaded even though it was. Handcent u can customize a little more within the application. I just love the chompsms popup, need that for handcent.

how exactly do you want it to look..... i could maybe play with it, i just never themed an apk before. dont think its any different from theming anything else i guess.....
you can theme the pop up I have them themed on my handcent to black with a blue border. You need to change the pic inside the apk though. There is no option for it.
i am looking to make the background a semi transparent black ....

if you use 7zip, you don't need to resign it, you don't even need to extract the file. you moddify inside the zip. if you know wich png file to mod, let me know and i'll do it for you. or if you already pulled it out, send it to me, i'll mod it and insert it to the apk.

woow that does look good but i really want my theme to somehow match the nextheme.. so i wanted all glossy black and green button or something like that. Thanks for your offer though

Im fairly sure you're allowed to post themed apps as long as there not private/paid apps (eg, Swype, most games, etc )

Working on it now, looking good so far too! Once I sign it I will post a screenshot here! If it works, that is.
Not sure why but When I zipped the files back it's smaller than the original. I Looked in every folder and nothing has changed. I push the signed apk and it will not show up as an app. I tried to install and fails. Here are the images if someone wants to try it out. I'm not an app maker so clueless what's going on!! Facebook app didn't do this so dev must have encoded something? I have also themed the search widget, google voice widget, power widget, and the Browser black and no issues!!!! Help
I wish I know how to do this so I could help... I randomly try it myself and got stuck at application not installed after I zip it back up

I was told to try zipalign, Researching how to do that now. I already have SDK installed. Just have not played with it yet!

..I can´t tell you, cause don´t know what djdarkknight96 changed...
So im able to change the stock sense mail icon using desktop visualizer but then when i receive an email it does not display a 1 over the icon. I do not use email notifications as i get many emails through my exchange account throughout the day and dont need to be notified but i like having the unread number on my icon. Is there any way to have a custom icon and have it display then number of unread messages over top of it? Thanks!

sorry bro im pretty sure that it is possible but its going to take alot of time for one to find out how to do this and they require dev skills that i dont have im just a flasher/donator... not trying to be rude in anyway but i dont think someone will want to take the time to find out how to do this... who know someone might have already done this and shared it over the internet but you just need to look for it...

Kind of figured just wanted to see if anybody has done it.
dont know if this helps but there is a app in the market called GmailUnread count. It has different colored icons as well, and does the job. I am using it as we speak!

Thanks but i dont use the gmail app i use the stock mail app as i use exchange.
In the mail apk, I believe you just edit the png.

Unfortunately im in no way shape or form a developer. I have a good understanding of things but dont come up with my own mod's or tweaks. I would be more than willing to do this myself if i knew how.
i would be more than happy to assist you with that. give me the icon you would like me to replace the stock one with. and just so were clear, you are talking about the green bubble on the mail app right?

ok. do you want this as the app icon or as the bubble? just curious because that would cover most of the icon.
I would use the icon as a shortcut for the mail app. The unread count can be smaller if that is possible. I really appreciate this and will definitely donate when completed.

Luckily i did a nandroid backup before attempting to flash. The file would not flash as it gave an error in ra. I toggled sig verification and still got an error. Afterwards phone wouldnt boot past splash screen and had to restore nandroid.

there are a couple off third party apps, Go sms, k9 mail, chrome etc etc that i want to change their icons to the stock icons.
