Just acquired my HTC Sensation and cant get access to the SD card.
I've synced it, dragged & dropped, still cant get into it.
I also have an HD2 and have tried my HD2 card in the sensation and same thing.
Ive put SD card from sensation into my HD2 and it reads it!
Is it the handset or am I missing something?
Must say I prefer the HD2 with my SPB shell!!
Thanks
Chris
PS. Looked in other trheads but there doesnt appear to be an answer to my problem hence this thread.

Have you tried to reformat the card (FAT32) - nothing to lose...

I have the Sprint HTC Touch Pro (Raph800). My phone does not have a sd card slot. I have downloaded my android package, unzipped it to the root of my internal storage, but I can't get Android to load because (obviously, I have just now figured this out) I don't have an sd card. However, I saw some websites with instructions on how to install Android on the HTC Diamond, and those instructions said the Android files can be placed on the root of the internal storage (I'm assuming) because the Diamond doesn't have a sd card slot either. So I tried using the Diamond/Android package on my Touch Pro, but that didn't work either. After extensive searching I'm starting to think I'm just sol, but I'm confused as to why Android can be installed on the Diamond without an sd card, but not my Touch Pro. So this is my final attempt, does anyone know of any way to get Android on my Touch Pro without using an sd card?
I am not certain where you get your information and/or how informed you are about your own phone. I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro (Yes, Rapheal) and can assure you it DOES have an SD Card. I do believe that the Diamond is no different and am sure that using the SD Card is pretty much the ONLY way to install Android. So, if they MUST have one to work...
Take off your battery cover and look on the side to find a pre-installed microSD Card. Push it in and release to remove it... I really don't know how you could not know that there was one there, Even WinMo is well aware of its existence and is well delineated in the OS.
different devices, same os. one has a keyboard and one doesnt lol. i don't see how HTC would be dumb enough to take off an sd card slot as well.
anyway, grats. I'm just snooping around the forums looking for an area i can help in.

You don't need an SD card.
I've got it on my Diamond which doesn't have an SD card, only Internal Storage.
You just download the Raphael Android package decompress it, put the files on the Internal Storage (make sure the defult.txt/startup.txt is the right configuration) and run Haret.

Well socialSavant, I am obviously uninformed about the phone or I wouldn't have had to ask that question in the first place. After all, this is a forum for lending and receiving help, is it not? However, thanks for pointing out to me that the sd card slot was on the inside of the phone. I didn't know it was in there and when I looked for it in the phone's menu all it was sd card not installed, so I wrongly assumed there was no sd card slot.
donald-c, thanks for the advice, but I already thought of and tried running the android package from my internal storage. It didn't work.
Now I am just going to go buy an sd card and try again. Thanks for everyone's help!
Hello, after installed Locations from Programs in my DHD my sdcard died, not instant but after a while maybe 12 hours. I have 1.72.405 update.. It was new years night so i dont remember to much
But then it just started to say: "No sd card mounted" or something.
Then i tried to put it in another phone the card is dead there to.
Then in a computer using an adapter, no success there either.
So is my card 100% dead or is it any chance of getting my data back, i was stupid and didn't have backup, to late now but you learn of ur misstakes.
Sry for wall of text, this is Short version
sdcard died a few hours after installing locations
no device founds it
help....
Loads of problems with this at the moment, everyones SD cards seem to be slowly dying since the recent update. The SD card isn't recognised in any other phone/computer as you say so the likelyhood of getting anything off it is slim.
Someone here has apparently spoken to HTC about it who have confirmed there is an issue with the new update which affects the unmounting of the SD card. The only thing they recomend is sending it back to HTC who will flash the phone back to the previous version.
I spoke to HTC myself the other day and managed to get them to send me another SD card - might be worth doing that. A factory reset doesn't work by the way, complete waste of time.
HTC phone number for UK is 0845 8900079 or 01279 206906 (same line, just not premium rate).
Take a look at these threads for people with same problem...

So if i buy a new card and havent send my phone to htc for them to flash the phone to the update before 1.72.405 the new card will brake?
I did go to the place i bougt the phone and they did say that the warranty didnt cover attachments so if i want a new card i need to send the phone and the card to repair, and the company that handels repair for most big electronic stores in sweden is the worst in the world.
How fast is htc at downflashing the phone?
I live in sweden if it has anything to do with how fast they are..

I've just replaced the SD card myself and havent had any further problems, everything has been fine since. No one else seems to have had any further problems either after replacing the card. I wouldn't bother sending the phone to be repaired, as I'm pretty sure it's just the SD card corrupted by the recent update somehow, not the actual phone.
In short, just get a new SD card, off HTC if possible. The number for customer services can be found here... htc.com/uk/CA_Hotline.aspx

My card has just gone down as well for no apparent reason - the phone was working fine and then the card stopped being recognised - I hadn't done anything with it.
I'm running 1.72.405.3.
Is there any way to recover the data from the card?
I fitted a 32Gb card over Christmas and that died within hours of being fitted which I thought was down to a faulty card although now I'm wondering if it is down to the HTC update.
So I guess the key questions are:
1. Are HTC going to be releasing a fix for this?
2. I have a new 32Gb card on the way - what are the chances of preventing that from being killed?

No.
I did take some photos off via pc connection last night connecting to it as a disk drive, but that is it.
I also have some apps installed onto it, but wasn't using any of them when it failed - I just turned the phone on to check email and it was giving an SD error or Insert SD card message - can't remember which and am trying to dig through logs to find out.

I see a temporary solution for some people stuck in new firmware versions without root.. *Cough* Old versions can be rooted..*Cough*
Hi there.
I installed the update the same day I got the phone. The Samsung MicroSD provided died 10 days ago; with stock rom - non rooted etc.
Can I talk to someone to get a replacement?

i had that problem with my kingston 16gb class 10, when i flashed a custom sense rom (but it was older base 1.32.xxx.xx) the sdcard died on me after rebooted. tried everything i could do to bring it back. so i left it for about week an decided to try it again...and it worked!! so maybe leave it awhile and try it again.
I just flashed my HTC HD2 to run Windows Phone 7........ However, there is NO memory on the phone. I sent a total of five text messages and the phone is stating that it needs more memory....I have a skandisk 16gb sd card but cant seem to get it to work. PLZ Help...Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem. I stick the memory in phone but he don´t recognize it and won´t use it.
Same here. Is there a Problem with Sandisk SD cards and Win 7?
Same problem, anyone got answer for this?
Are wp7 phones not supposed to have external memory? I remember I read a LONG time ago wp7 devices were not going to support any sort of removable media. If this is true this might be what's happening to all of you. This is totally unconfirmed by me, I don't have an HD2 and I have never messed with wp7 ports so just sharing the very limited knowledge I have on this.
I feel like there's a forum reg w/ the answer sitting back laughing their butts off.
Lmao good intuition.
I searched and found this thread then 5 secs later I found the thread with the answers lol. Here it is for those who have not found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918993

Well I Clear SD MBR on my card in magldr113 after that my sd card is invisible on my PC or phone. Please help?!
So you could see it ok before?
Is it an SDHC (assume it is), does the reader you have it in, on the PC read SDHC, or SD only?
Is it the right format for the phone to read?
Yeap i see it ok before on my PC. I installed WP7 on my htc hd2 but he don't see it than i clear mbr
my card is Kingston 8gb SDHC. My reader don't see anything, i tried read card on another pc but the same. (sorry for my English)

No, my hd2 don't read this card after clear. Please help it's a new one.
Ok, this isn't uncommon and i have had this problem too.
Unfortunately, sometimes your card can be corrupted by the process of wiping the partition via magldr, it is rare but can happen.
However and more commonly, your card can be rescued by inserting it into a nokia N97 (or similar) Nokia device. You then simply ignore the password prompt, go into setting and format the card. You will then find your computer can recognise the card. It is the way early wp7 roms wrote the card that effectively locked them, you should not get this problem with later roms.
Sometimes you can be lucky and use Ubunto to wipe the card, but in my experience, use a Nokia (about the only good use for them!!!!). You can also use the app in windows mobile 6.5 if you know anyone who is still using wm6.5 lol
Cheers and hoped this helped.
Can you tell me witch WP7 ROM is the best for HTC HD2 and read my kingston 8gb class 4 ?
I got exactly the same. Is there no other way to fix it? I mean something what can be done on PC/MAC using card reader or by CWM?
I don't know about your SD card as I use a transcend 8gb C6, but I use yuki/xbox rom
As for getting both your SD cards working again, they are encrypted so you either have to use wm 6.5 and use format utility there or get your hands on a N97 or similar. No current utility for a pc or mac works as far as I know (bummer I know)

But where are those settings?;> I have to do it by file manager or what?;> Sry, nokia interface blows my mind up when I have to do anything, it's messed up.
Try this..
applications--->file manager--->select what you want to format (mass/memory card)
--->options---->reformat
I've tried but it detects no card, weird thing. Any ideas? Probably card is totally broken.

If the nokia doesnt detect the card then im afraid its fried. It does happen, flash does not not an unlimited life span, even new ones.
Time to buy another im afraid, I can recommend transcend 8gb class 6, works fine with droid and wp7
So it somehow broke (during some actions in recovery). Thanks for your help anyway, it may be useful in future x]

The card has no filesystem/partition and thus your computer or android won't recognize it.

Hi, HTC didn't forget it was intentional. This is my first phone without a external memory card and I was worried at first too. HTC has a little thing with an app called dropbox this backs up all your pictures online and to your computer so you wouldn't have to worry about losing that. I still kind of prefer sd cards but I've had some go bad on me too. The internal space is good enough for me and a far as ROMS it's the same process the memory is just internal.

As far as music there's googles play music app. You install it on your phone and your computer. Whatever songs you have on your computer you upload it to the app on installed on your computer and it will sync up to the app on your phone. You can also download the songs from the app that's on your phone to your phone if you want access to those songs while off the internet

I would go for a phone with an sd card slot like the S3. Sure cloud storage is ok but I like having the content with me so I won't be streaming it and using data.
This is called marketing, HTC can't sell you a new phone, while you satisfied with old one.
