This is just a thread for my application: Metro UI. Please post any suggestions. I would post a link...but it won't let me. My Application is called Metro UI (BETA).
Was checking this out the other day! I didn't understand how to get the tiles going. Any help?
This. Is. Awesome.
How do you remove tiles though? it added 2x SMS tiles for some reason, and I can't find a way to remove one of them.
*edit*
NVM worked it out, just long hold the app in the app list.
Great app i like this interface a lot especially after last update
this is my suggestions for improvements so far...
-I would like to see the option to hide applications in the "appdrawer"
- Needs folders ( in the squares, it would look nice if the folder looked like the home screen so that you push the folder square and get to an page whith more squares). sorry for my bad English, hope you understand what i mean...
- would be nice to be able to resize and rearrange the squares
- also more custom icons
later on I would like to see an lockscreen in the same theme and perhaps the ability to place widgets in the squares but thats not important at the moment
but as i said in the beginning , great app i will follow this closely
Verry nice, great work!

- use widgets
Agreed, being able to use this interface with the millions of Android WM7 icons out there would be brilliant. Give us the option for 3x1 etc panels and an image chooser and you are on to a winner.

cool i like it, quite fluent as well
edit/ destroys the battery, 10% usage after being installed 20 minutes on a battery unplugged for an hour wtf?
uninstalled.
The app is awesome... icons in the squares are a bit small. Havent had any problems with battery life on my samsung fascinate.
Would like to see the actual wp7 animations though. The cubed music app uses it in the" boring" layout, so it can be done.
Want to say thanks and keep up the good work. Sms tile updated with go sms, so that's pretty cool.
Well done sir.

Really nice app. Quite smooth, although on some moments it is choppy, but hope it gets fixed in final version. Even when it is in beta it is the best Metro like Launcher.
Def considering buying the full/final version. Also think about Metro like lockscreen.
This is very good!
Miss custom images and colors, and a sort option. And how about transparancy? Also if I use the back button, it exits the app..
But a very good start!

No problem with battery drain here, been using it for a day with no significant drain on the battery compared to other launchers.

I can confirm this too. If are installed more than one Launcher, with the back button it opens an other Launcher.
Metro-UI taskbar needs other icons e.g. BT, GPS, etc then only battery and singnal.
Great app. I was wondering if any possible way to get counts for tweeter and regular email? That would be awesome, otherwise very smooth on my phone.
Hey its the nicest metro ui till date, and the best part is its so light. And its super fast on my desire.
Well done sir, hope to see more customization soon, and it is currently my UI choice.
Thankyou
just thought of a suggestion. Could you give the option in the metro ui settings to turn off the highlight when you press a tile?
tiles dont show up on my mt3g
On my Droid X after I installed nothing shows up. I get the top area with battery, 36, signal, clock, and arrow but no tiles or anything, just black below that.
Any help?

You need to add tiles. You can do that by opening the app drawer and long pressing the apps you want.
FYI - You can later remove those apps by long pressing them in the app drawer again.
Hey guys! Long time reader, first time Android poster. Love the community!
Getting right down to it, I'm visually impaired but not blind. Some aspects of the Evo are just too small for me to read. Coming from an Iphone, I got spoiled with there three finger double tap zoom accessibility feature. I'm looking for something similar or even just some way to increase the font size of everything. I ran across this app http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/org.pbxes.fontsize/ but the comments state that it doesn't work for Evo.
Anyways. this has been something sought after by many people. I've been reading everything I can find searching Google and all I find are people wanting it, but not getting it. I'm willing to throw some cash at a developer to get this going. If it can be made an app I'm sure it will sell extremely well in the market, even if it is just Evo specific. If it has to be some kind of custom ROM there would still be a lot of people using it.
Sorry if something like this has been requested before, but I spent a lot of time searching and I didn't find anything useful. If there is already a solution, please PLEASE tell us.
Hey, hopefully this helps you out. Go on the market, and look for dolphin text sizer. It says you have to also download the dolphin web browser [both free], but the text sizer should be right up your alley. And just literally looked it up for ya.
That is kind of neat. But.... it's not quite what I was looking for because this only works while in the browser. I'm looking to be able to zoom the entire screen and then pan it left and right. Or..... increase the font size of everything, including icons and contacts, timestamps... everything.
Here is a youtube video of the three finger zoom thing that the iphone does if you havent seen it before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1ZzDffl0sQ&NR=1 It really does a little more than he shows but you might get the idea.
Try Ideal Accessibility in the market. Kinda like a grid arrow pointing down. It profess having some good apps, but still looking.
Take a look at an app called lcddensity. You can use it to make everything on your screen either bigger or smaller. It resets on reboot, but you can make the effect permanent. You can also try changing your font to something a bit bigger than the standard font.

it is called ScreenZooM. Search for it (icon is a magnifier with a big green +)

Awesome!
Haha! WoW! Yeah 1 year later! This is pretty cool! I am having a little trouble getting the shake to work tho. It works once, then it wont work again. I'm running Decks 2.3.7 Stablistic on my evo, and I selected "custom" in the app.
But seriously, thanks! I thought this request was long dead and buried.
maybe i put sensitivity too small... and you need to shake harder?
You can try and the stock mode, maybe works better
cool app! Not something that I would probably use, but still, very cool work. thanks.

I'm looking for an SMS app that doesn't seem to exist, so I thought I'd post here in case there's a cool project I'm missing or some interesting ideas anyone has to share.
What I'd Like:
An SMS app with the following features:
-Both SMS and MMS work reliably and consistently
-Material Design compliant
-Swipe to return to conversation list
-Quick reply
-Avatar images in the conversations
What I've Tried and Why I'm not a Fan:
-Hangouts: No swipe or quick reply, the workflow/2-tab system in inefficient and ugly
-Textra: Weird font and no avatars in the conversations
-QKSMS: It bugs out on my phone...it thinks I have on-screen buttons (I have capacitive) and it puts a giant bar at the bottom of the screen, but stuff I can't see or interact with goes under that bar.
-Evolve: So much going on, it's so busy and sort of laggy and clunky even on my brand new Droid Turbo.
-Chomp: It keeps yelling at me that it can't find my APN settings even though every other app including Textra made by the same company works fine. Also only partially Materialized. OCD.
_Google Messenger: No quick reply or swipe.
-Go: Too much stuff for my taste
-Verizon Messages: Super ugly.

try YAATA
i think it meets (almost, if not) all the above mentioned :good:
I use YAATA and love it
YAATA would be perfect if it would turn Wi-Fi back on after sending a MMS
Thanks guys, I'll have to check that one out. Just got it installed and I'm playing with all the settings. When I initially opened it the font and pictures were huge and I felt like I was holding a Fisher Price toy but it has a ton of settings it looks like so I'm feeling a lot better now that I've played with a few of them. I figured there was a great app I was missing, so thanks for the help guys!

There's a fix for this in the advanced settings of the app
Someone pointed out the navigation bar fix option to me over in the G+ community for the app, but it didn't work in my case. Nothing changed.
Never heard of qksms before. Absolutely love it. Thanks xda and all members for suggesting approximately 70% of all my installed apps. ?
Indeed...actually QK started working for me again after I rebooted my phone. Not sure why I didn't think of that. I originally found out about that here too, and YAATA is actually really nice also. QK is still prettier, but YAATA seems to have fewer bugs right now.

Corgi is a one of a kind lock screen replacement. It transforms your standard lock in to a Feedly (RSS) reader. It’s a full app experience right when you turn ON the screen. All of this is made in a beautiful Material Design.
How it works?
Once the phone has started, you’ll see latest headlines from your favorite resources. You are still a single gesture away from unlocking your phone. But if you have a minute or two, Corgi is right here, waiting for you with the latest articles from the web. If you saw an intriguing headline, just swipe up and enjoy the article. Browse more stories by swiping to the left, it is that simple.
Corgi is made for Feedly
To make this all come true, we have partnered with the best news aggregator out there. Feedly is fast, reliable. But most importantly, thanks to the Feedly v3 Engine, it let’s you get news from anywhere. Starting with big news resources as The Verge, TechCrunch, XDA-Developers going to more local ones like Boston Business News. Allowing you to read the news, you actually care of. Note: if you are already using Feedly, you don't need to subscribe again.
Why Corgi?
If a dog is men best friend. Then corgi is the most adorable friend. We want to bring that positive mood right to your lock screen.

That's is strange, it's related to the fact that Samsung has it's own alarm, it is not that easy to tract that event. But we will do our best to solve this.
Cool App!
Although one thing that bugs me: After a reboot, the screen is black and only after I pulled down the status bar and clicked on something, the PINCode Pattern appears.
awesome!! I really like it. This is the type of lockscreen I looked for a long time
One thing that buggs me is, if I swipe to the right, it dismisses the last article so that I can't get back to it.
Also it would be nice to have an animation to the pattern lock. instead of it just popping up
**EDIT**
Also it would be nice to include Notifications or space for a widget (to use external notification widget-apps)
nice app!
flat design, fast and nice.

I'm glad you like it. To go back, press the "+" button and the press "back". We still have not added it to the guide so it's a bit complicated.
And yes, there will be the animation for the lock screen, in the next update I hope!

I'm glad you like it. It is a bit laggy on some devices, and it's weird. Trying to figure it out. The funny thing that it's not hardware related issue, maybe kernel or ROM settings. Since it's buttery smooth on my Moto G 2013
Very nice app. Produces pretty lockscreens. BUT it prevents Daydreams working in CM12 and I don't want the distraction of attractive news feeds facing me when I'm using the phone in my desk dock.

Is daydream a part of your standard lock screen? Also, have you tried AcDisplay app? As far as I know Corgi works ok with AcDisplay. I'll take a look if this can be fixed though!
The potential is big with this one.
Hi there!
You've piqued my interest for this app so much that I decided to sign up on XDA and post here, even though I've been using it for almost 5 years. Please continue development and make this even more awesome.
A Bug report:
Phone: Oneplus One
ROM: Euphoria ROM by Mahdi (CM12 base)
DPI: 408
I faced a critical bug somehow while running this app.
After I installed the app, everything ran smoothly until this error started showing up every two seconds.
Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped

(I looked into this error on the internet and the most common reason seemed to be due to a problem with Contacts. But as this error popped up just minutes after I installed this app, I thought otherwise.)
Whatever I tried, it went in vain. I tried rebooting the phone, clearing the data and cache for this app and all that. Zilch. The issue vanished, though, the second I uninstalled this app. No offense but I think there is a possibility that it might have something to do with your app. If I'm wrong, I'm all ears. I'm not very well versed in anything here.
Things I loved:
The animations
The way the app opened up a temp browser to display the entire content
The clean interface
Things that can be improved:
Lock pattern integration (Animation and more options)
The ability to show the Navigation bar translucently instead of going immersive. This is frustrating a little as when ever I pull down the status bar, the nav bar comes up as well causing the lockscreen to seemingly stutter to accommodate the change. I hope you get this.
The color filter that you superimpose over the article while turning the screen on is nice, but can get rather striking at times. I think it would be better if the colors were a little subdued and if the images had a factor of blurriness in them to make the items like Date and Time on the lockscreen more legible.
An option to view the newsfeed as a stream of news articles by swiping up and down.
I see that there is a default image that you use for articles that do not have one? I request you to use a nicer one Because I see a busy street somewhere in Asia as the default pic and it isn't doing justice to the good aesthetics of this app
Thanks a ton for this app. If some of the issues here and there are ironed out, I don't see why it wouldn't become my daily driver!

Firstly, thank you for you feedback! It's great to see that the app made you interested. Concerning your bug, we will take a look at it. If you could send us a log, that would be great. To do so, after the crash go to the Corgi app, swipe right and press "Leave Feedback". When you send it, it will attach a log, this helps us to trace crashes etc.
Concerning your feedback. The immersive more, color filter, lock patter animations, will be there once we have menu settings fully ready. We just need some more time. News feed as a stream is something bothering our minds for a while now. We will have it, but not soon. There are some ideas, but we have to rewrite the whole app for that
notifications?
Is there any plans for showing notifications on top of the news items ?

daydream is baked-in feature of CyanogenMOd based roms (not sure if it's the AOSP source). It simply initiates one of a number of pre-set functions when plugged-in, docked or both, after a given unused elapsed time.
I've never used AcDisplay - never needed to as Daydream normally works fine. I'm not keen on installing additional apps to bring back functionality lost or inhibited by others - that way you just clog you system up with more and more useless code.
I will certainly drop back and see if this issue gets fixed though as I do like your app
Cheers

First of all thank you. This is a beautiful app that truly defines how beautiful an app can be following material design guidelines. I hope to see more features in it soon. so far so good. Animations are smooth and nice. Layout is excellent. Color layers are gorgeous.
Now after using this app for a couple of hours here are a few things that could be improved.
- When I turn the screen ON my notification drop down panel is extended. I have to swipe up to make it go away and look at the news articles on lock screen. Reading your comment above [quoted] doesn't seem like its intended behavior.
- Reading an article by swiping up on lock screen or moving to another article by swiping left doesn't mark that article as "read". Which means that if I go back to Feedly, all articles I have scrolled past on Corgi are still there. It would be better if this functionality can be added.
- Lock screen runs in "immersive mode". Which means if I swipe up from the bottom of screen I can make the navigation bar to show. However one I make it appear and click on any navigation key it sticks to the screen and doesn't go away.
Feature Request:
I have a lot of feeds coming into Feedly. Is it possible to "pin" a single feed or multiple to show on lock screen instead of all feeds? Plus if the order of feeds could be re-arranged inside Corgi would be really nice to have feature.
Device Info: Oneplus One
Rom: Tuga Power (CM12) vs 55
DPI: 500 (on this DPI this lockscreen is absolutely beautiful and smooth).
Once again, great work and keep the updates coming.
Just finished my first released Android App. It is a Widget version of the Fibonacci Clock, found on Kickstarter.

I've also built a web app that does the same thing, using Javascript:

That's awesome. Strange, we brought them out on the same day!
Unfortunately I don't have a wearable so I can't check it out, but the app looks really good
very interesting app.. thx..
just a minor finding..
the vertical spacing among the "squares" are a bit too broad (might be due to my apex launcher)..
the spacing in the play store screenshots looks much better..
can anything be done on this?
[edit]
one more thing..
the time displayed is using the round-to-the-nearest-5-minute-mark algorithm..
that means a display of 11:00 is in the range of 10:57:30-11:02:29 (just guessing on the seconds part..)
this is a bit non-intuitive to calculate..
could it be changed so that a display of 11:00 actually means 11:00:00-11:04:59, i.e., round-down-to-the-nearest-5-minute-mark approach?
anyway its just my opinion, and im not sure if there is a publicly recognised definition to display the time in fibonacci sequence..

Thanks for the feedback! I am trying my best with material design, but I have noticed that the clock does look slightly different on different devices. Because of the way I've done my XML layouts, I have no idea how to fix this, but I've been racking my brain. Hopefully in future the widget will look more uniform on all devices.
As for the rounding, I hadn't even thought of an alternative being used. Guess I just assumed 2:30 either side would do the trick. I will definitely include a 'round-up, round-down' option in a further update. Thanks for the suggestion!
Fun app !!!
For me, squares are refreshed at HH:M3:12 and HH:M8:12

The app is set to refresh every minute. I need to streamline my code so that it will refresh every 5 minutes exactly. However I'm still unsure of the differences of using the AlarmManager. I'm currently using the AlarmManager.RTC, which as far as I'm aware prevents the app from waking up the processor, meaning the app will wait to update rather than wait the phone from sleep.
